Bernie Rayno takes a look at a storm that could impact much of the eastern United States Next weekend.
Transcript
00:00For the first time this winter, over 50% of the United States is covered in snow and ice.
00:06The only state that doesn't have ice and snow is Florida.
00:11And could another storm be on the way?
00:13Well, we're wrapping up our storm over the weekend.
00:15That stretch from Albuquerque with the snow and ice all the way toward Caribou.
00:19That's over 2,000 miles.
00:22Now, a lot of the snow and ice isn't going to melt because we have a big dip in the jet stream coming on south
00:27as we go through the middle and latter half of the week.
00:30Now, what's that going to do?
00:31It's going to keep all the cold air entrenched, especially across the Midwest and the Northeast.
00:38And on the bottom of that dip in the jet stream, we are expecting a storm to form later this week.
00:45The storm track is a little fluid.
00:47Could be out to sea with most of the snow offshore.
00:50But if that storm hugs the coast, we're going to have more problems with the potential for some ice across the southeast,
00:58maybe as far south as I-10 in the Florida Penhandle.
01:01And it's either snow or no.
01:03It's cold enough for snow from the Carolinas all the way toward New England.
01:06Again, this storm, not as large as far as the snow and ice shield as its previous storm.
01:13But it's going to be stronger.
01:15It's going to have some wind.
