00:00This time of the year, heat and severe weather go hand in hand, and that's going to be the case
00:06for the upcoming week.
00:08Different pattern next week.
00:10Now we have the dip in the jet stream in the western United States.
00:13All of the heat that's going to be building there this weekend gets pushed out into the Plains states.
00:18So don't be fooled.
00:20Yeah, it's a chilly start to the weekend, but by early next week, look how the heat starts to build
00:26across the Plains and into the Midwest.
00:28And as a cold front from the Canadian prairies drops south, severe weather comes right back into the Midwest.
00:35It begins a little bit here, late Monday and Monday night across parts of the upper Midwest.
00:42Mostly hail, but there could be some damaging winds with this as well.
00:46Then the cold front presses east on Tuesday, and this is the day where the severe weather could be a
00:51little more widespread across the Midwest.
00:54Now not only are we concerned about damaging winds, hail, but there could be isolated tornadoes as well.
01:01Little break in the action as we get into Wednesday and Thursday, but well, here comes the warmth, and here
01:08comes the threat for severe weather once again as we head into Friday and into next weekend.
01:13As the dip of the jet stream moves into the Rockies, warm air comes northward into the Midwest, here comes
01:20some more cold air across the Canadian prairies, and there goes the risk for thunderstorms and severe weather.
