Wednesday will be another warm day in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic with strong storms possible; however, a change is on the way later in the week. Bernie Rayno breaks down what to expect.
Transcript
00:00Strong storms on Wednesday mark a huge change coming into the northeast.
00:07It's going to be another hot day on Wednesday as temperatures climb into the 90s.
00:12Note much of the heat from the I-95 corridor toward the coast as cooler air starts pressing in across
00:20western New York State and Pennsylvania.
00:22And that clash of air masses is going to produce some nasty thunderstorms, we think.
00:28Mostly Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening from Boston all the way down toward Knoxville.
00:34While the severe storms are going to be isolated, they're going to pack a punch with some gusty winds, hail,
00:41and also some downpours.
00:43That's going to cause some major travel delays, especially as we head toward the afternoon and evening rush.
00:48And then the huge change.
00:51By Thursday, it's a major cool down.
00:53Take a look at the 24-hour temperature change here.
00:5620 to 30 degrees lower.
00:58You can really see it when you track the high temperatures for New York City.
01:02Look at that sharp decline.
01:04It feels like August on Wednesday.
01:07But by the time we get into the latter half of the week, we're back in the early April.
01:12A huge change coming.
01:14I'm all batting.
01:14Oooh.
01:15And welcome bitch.
