This is Day 9 of my “making my bed every day” series, where I’m staying accountable to my goals and learning that progress isn’t always linear. The first step might seem small, or so they say, but showing up daily keeps me grounded — especially during recovery.
Quick shoutout to my Uncle Bill. I asked him for advice after my ACL surgery since he went through it over 35 years ago. At first, I honestly thought his advice sucked — he said “You’ll wake up and your leg will hurt, or you’ll wake up and it won’t. You can’t dread on it. Just take the steps you need to recover.” Now I realize… that advice was actually really good. Recovery isn’t about obsessing over every day — it’s about showing up, doing the work, and trusting the process.
