In this video, Greg from TM Blast walks through how he uses Microsoft Copilot for #LocalSEOResearch alongside local SEO heat-map tools ( @localfalcon ) to visualize and measure ranking changes for a real local SEO client.

The idea behind this analysis is to look for what dots flipped to green, which represents a page 1 ranking on Google search. Next, I want to see the impact would be for my client via the population size of those dots. Next, I want to see what red dots are out there via the heat map and what I need to focus on next.

This walkthrough is especially useful for local business owners and marketers who want to understand:

How local SEO heat maps work
What ranking improvements look like beyond “average position”
How AI tools like Copilot can help analyze local SEO progress
Why geographic visibility matters more than just ranking #1

00:00Hey everyone, what's going on? Greg here again from Team Blast. So I always talk about the heat
00:03map for my clients and how I'm able to flip dots from orange or yellow to green. But then I take
00:08this a step further. So I'm using Microsoft Copilot and I've uploaded two heat map scans
00:12again using Local Falcon. One was for today and one was from a few months back. So I'm going to
00:16actually ask a prompt to basically analyze to figure out if the dots that I flip have a high
00:21population size because then that should result in more impressions, more website clicks, more
00:26phone calls, more scheduled bookings, and more leads for my clients. So here is an example prompt
00:31that I will do. I'll say review these two images and let me know what dots flipped from orange
00:43and yellow to green. Again, green represents a page one ranking within Google search.
00:49And then say, next, can you let me know about those dots and the population size of them?
01:02Next thing, let me know about the dots and the population size of them. Finally, let me know
01:08if there are any red dots that have a high population to go after. Okay. So there's a few
01:21prompts that I'm doing right now. Again, I changed this for all my clients, but really what I'm trying
01:24to analyze quickly is yes, I'm able to flip the dots, but what is the value of doing that? So over
01:30here, now I will say Copilot is a little stupid when it comes to this because they think that I'm talking
01:38about air quality and that's not actually what I'm talking about, but it's okay. They're going to
01:42get that wrong, but they're going to get the population pretty close. So that's all I really
01:45care about. So they're going to say, now they're comparing the air quality, but the point though
01:50is that I can see the estimated population. So it says population insights for improved areas.
01:55So again, they think it's air quality. I know it's obviously heat map rankings, but I have a few,
02:00I have four different places now. They're showing the estimated population. So Southwest Grand
02:04Junction, five to seven. Then you have Whitewater, two to three, Mesa, one to five, one to 1.15,
02:12and then Glade Park as well, 500, 700. But this is actually what I do next though for my clients.
02:19So it's good. We flipped some dots. That's actually really important. Obviously, I'm going to get more
02:23impressions, but now I need to look at those red dots and say, okay, Clifton, Palisade, Appleton,
02:29North Grand Junction. These are the areas actually have a higher estimated population for me to really
02:33focus on. So as I'm actually flipping the map, I'm getting those winnable, I'm getting those
02:39winnable dots now for my client, which is good. I now need to now analyze the map and say, okay,
02:43where can I really go after that has maybe two to three times the population of some of these other
02:48areas? Because if I can flip those dots from red to yellow or obviously the yellow to green,
02:53again, that's really to more impressions, more website clicks, more phone calls, more bookings
02:56for my client. Kind of what I do next is I'll actually either consolidate the map within Local Falcon
03:02to get really specific in areas, or I might then run scans for those particular cities and towns for
03:08different keywords. And then look at those competitors specifically. Again, maybe use
03:12Copilot or ChatGPT or another type of platform as well to do some quick analysis, look for gaps and
03:18look for ways that I can maybe optimize the profile a bit more. But anyway, I wanted to record this
03:22video. I think using Copilot, it's good enough. So if you're not looking to pay like the $20 or so
03:29for ChatGPT, I think Copilot is a good way to kind of get at least an initial baseline.
03:33Obviously they're wrong with the air quality. That's not what I'm talking about, but they at
03:36least get the population size, which is a great starting point, especially for Local SEO.
03:42Anyway, thanks for watching this video. Let me know if you have any questions and as always,
03:45have a good rest of your day.
