I have a #LocalSEO client in New York City where we decided to go after a new keyword to generate new leads for their business. The tool that I'm always using for keyword tracking is @localfalcon , and after the initial baseline of under a 2% page 1 ranking, I made several changes to their account. Today, on November 12th, we are now ranking at 10% page 1 rankings for their target keyword.

00:00Hey everyone, what's going on? Greg here again from Team Blast. So I'm working with one of my
00:03clients there in New York City. We're focusing on a new keyword. And earlier this week, we had a 0%
00:09share of local voice. Now today we're basically at 10%. So I'm going to kind of walk you through
00:14again, what share of local voice means, and then what I've been doing for their account to grow
00:17their ranking. So to start, when you use Google, you search on your desktop, laptop, or tablet
00:23for a term like HVAC, for example, you're going to get a three organic map pack listings. Those
00:28are dots one through three on the heat map scan. So when I go down over here for my client
00:33today in the bottom left quadrant, those dots green one, two, and three, that represents
00:38if someone's searching for that particular keyword for my client, you're going to find them now.
00:42But anything that's now past position three does not show up on Google search. It only shows up
00:47here on Google map search. So if you're using the Google map app, you search for, let's say
00:52restaurants near me or, you know, dentists near me or anything else like that, you're going to get
00:56all the listings. But if you're, you know, if I go to the next slide, I'll show you, if you are
00:59positioned, let's say up near Washington Heights in this particular example, if you're position 11
01:05or 13 for this particular keyword, you only show up on Google map search and you have maybe 12 other
01:11listings ahead of you. So if you're not getting a lot of phone calls to your business, you're not
01:14getting a lot of bookings, not enough website visits, it's probably because your heat map rankings
01:19are not strong for your particular keywords, which is why you're over-reliing on Google ads,
01:23Bing ads, Facebook marketing, et cetera. And we all know how difficult that is because
01:28essentially the second you turn off those ads, you don't get seen, you don't get the new
01:32customers as well. So this heat map here really focused on anything that's four plus you're not
01:38on Google search. You're only appearing on Google map search. So the share of local voice is improving
01:43after only two days for my clients. I'm redacting the keyword, but on the left-hand side, this was the
01:48initial scan. We had under a 2% share of local voice. I made a ton of changes to their account
01:53on the 11th. We dropped to 0%. That's totally normal. That's actually pretty standard when
01:58there's a shock like that. And now today on the 12th, we're already at a roughly 10% share again,
02:02that bottom left quadrant now starting to rank. So tips to rank better on Google. A lot of these
02:06tips are universal across different accounts that I work on, but I want to keep reiterating them
02:11because they really help. So to start local Falcon scans, get the baseline metrics. So I had my monthly
02:17report with my client. We talked about strategy, different ways to get potential new leads. We looked at
02:22this one service. We ran the baseline scan and said, we're not ranking very well. We have under
02:26a 2% share. We need to change something. We need to get more aggressive, get to let's say 20 or 30%
02:31share. What would that do for the business? Next, review the competitor list and look for gaps.
02:35So gaps are things like number of reviews, average rating, phone number. We looked at hours. We looked at
02:43different secondary categories as well. You want to do a complete gap analysis. You can also use
02:48ChatGPT as well for this to really help give it as like a table view. It'd make it a lot easier.
02:53Next, report competitors. So not so much for this particular account, but there's so many
02:59accounts that I work on that have a ton of spam in them. So when I run the local Falcon scan,
03:05I can see duplicate listings. I can see businesses being run out of a home. I can see businesses that
03:10are virtual or PO box. I can see keyword stuffing. Any of those issues or guideline violations are going to
03:17impact your business. So you have to keep an eye on your business and make changes, but also
03:20if you come across anything that is impacting your business, you have to report that as well.
03:25Otherwise, it's going to be an unfair advantage. Next, make changes to your Google business account.
03:29So I've been making a ton of changes for my client. Some of those changes, but just the next bullet,
03:34posting photos, updates, questions and answers, services, new descriptions, products, even looking at
03:41the categories as well, making changes directly to the Google business account. Next, my client is great.
03:45They get a lot of reviews and they respond to them. That is awesome. It is a big difference when it
03:50comes to Google map rankings. But what I also tell all my clients is to get reviews outside of Google.
03:54So I'm pushing Yelp because that's a big ranking factor when it comes to Apple Maps and also Bing
04:00Maps as well. So don't only have Google reviews, try to push Yelp or Facebook or any other type or
04:06trustindex.io, different third-party sites. It's going to help give more confidence to our customers.
04:12Next, landing pages on the website is really important. So a lot of people ask me, what's
04:17the connection between the website and also Google business profile? You need to have dedicated landing
04:21pages that go over that particular service. I talked about local schema markup. I added that and
04:26I actually wrote a description for my clients. So it's even more keyword rich for Google and Bing to
04:31understand. I think ChatGPT can also probably utilize that as well. And then of course, run more local
04:36Falcon scans. I'll go back over here. This is what you want to see. You want to see the progression
04:40of share of local voice increasing. You want to see from your scans, if you're improving your
04:45share of local voice against your competition and what that would do for your business for more
04:49website clicks, phone calls and customers and bookings. You got to also give it a few weeks as
04:54well. So, you know, going from 0% basically to 10%, that's great. I know it's not going to be a
04:58substantial change for their business, but we can get to let's say 30 or 40% and stay there
05:02consistently for a few weeks. Then I'm going to really look into that and say, okay, how many leads
05:06that we get? Phone calls, website clicks, bookings, and more for my client. Anyway,
05:12thanks for watching this video. Let me know if you have any questions and as always, have a good
05:15rest of your day.
