00:00Big cook, little cook, welcome to our cafe. Big cook, little cook, want you to come and play.
00:17Meeting all the friends we cook for, sharing stories, trips and fun. Big cook, little cook, we'll cook for everyone.
00:31Oh, hello. Welcome to our cafe, the best cafe in the world. Ben's out in the garden picking ripe apples from the tree. They're ready to eat. We're going to make apple pie. Yummy, my favourite.
00:47Hello there. Oh, goody, let's have a look at all those lovely ripe apples. I bet you picked loads. Show me, show me. Let's see how many you've got in your baskets.
01:00But it's empty. I don't understand. I'm sure they're all ripe and ready to pick. Well, they are. It's just, I'm afraid of the apple tree.
01:11Afraid of the apple tree? But what has the apple tree ever done to you? I don't understand.
01:17Well, sometimes when you go to pick them, they fall on their own and I'm afraid they might hurt me. You know, one apple, two apple, three apple.
01:26Well, then we do have a problem, don't we? All the apples are ripe and ready to pick, but we can't pick them. How are we going to make apple pie?
01:36I don't know, but I do know I'm not going near that apple tree.
01:42Aha! A customer! We'll have to worry about the apple tree later, Ben.
01:46Oh, OK then.
01:47I'm on my way! Woo-hoo!
01:59And who's our customer today, Small?
02:01Oh, he's so shiny!
02:07A shiny man?
02:09Not a shiny man, Ben. A man in a shiny suit of armour.
02:14It's Norman the knight!
02:16A knight in armour?
02:18Yes! On a horse!
02:19Horsey, horsey, don't you stop.
02:25Just let your think go clippity-clop.
02:28Your tail goes swish and your wheels go round.
02:31Giddy up, we're homeward bound.
02:36So what are we going to cook for Norman the knight?
02:39I think it's time to look at my book!
02:49We need a story to help us cook.
02:54Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
02:57Little Cook's Adventures in the Big World.
03:01Let me see.
03:03This adventure took place long ago and far away,
03:07when I was lucky to meet a knight in shining armour.
03:11Norman the knight was looking very puzzled,
03:14so I asked him what the problem was.
03:16Well, said the knight,
03:19the problem is that it is my job to rescue people in trouble,
03:23and I'm very good at it.
03:25But today is different.
03:28When I asked what was different,
03:30the knight just pointed to a great big tower in front of him.
03:34And there at the top of the tower was a lady called Rapunzel.
03:38The problem is, Norman the knight continued,
03:42I haven't got a ladder.
03:44Poor Rapunzel had been stuck up the tower for years,
03:48put there by a wicked witch.
03:51I offered to help, but I'm not very big,
03:54so even when the knight stood on my back,
03:57he still couldn't reach.
03:59We tried all kinds of things.
04:02Trampolines,
04:03seesaws,
04:04seesaws,
04:06and swinging ropes.
04:10None of them worked.
04:13Then I had a brilliant idea.
04:16You see, I'd noticed that Rapunzel's hair had grown very, very long,
04:20while she'd been stuck in the tower.
04:21So I shouted up to her,
04:24Rapunzel!
04:25Rapunzel!
04:26Let down your hair!
04:29She couldn't hear my small voice,
04:31so we shouted together,
04:33Rapunzel!
04:35Rapunzel!
04:36Let down your hair!
04:38And then she heard.
04:40As soon as she let her hair down,
04:43I borrowed the knight's sword,
04:44and climbed as fast as I could.
04:48When I got to the top,
04:50I cut off her plait,
04:51and we used it as a rope to climb down.
04:55And soon we were both safe.
04:58The knight was very happy that we'd rescued Rapunzel,
05:00and Rapunzel was very happy to be free.
05:02Little Cook Small to the rescue once again.
05:08That was a great adventure.
05:10Well, mash my spuds!
05:12Isn't that a great story?
05:14Woo-hee!
05:16Thanks, Ben.
05:18But does it give us any ideas what to cook, though?
05:21Yeah!
05:22No, not really.
05:24What kind of thing would a knight like to eat?
05:28I haven't got a clue.
05:33Ooh!
05:35Oh!
05:38I know!
05:39Big Cook's Big Cookery Book!
05:41Of course!
05:42The Big Cookery Book!
05:43There's recipes for everything in there!
05:45And where do we look for things to cook?
05:47In the book!
05:48In the book!
05:49In Big Cook's Book!
05:51Oh, yes!
05:52Look!
05:53The very thing for Norman the Knight's lunch!
05:56Pizza shield!
05:58And it's a shield just like Norman the Knight had in our story!
06:00Yeah!
06:01You read out the ingredients, Little Cook, and I'll see if we've got them!
06:05OK, let's see.
06:06We're going to need plain flour.
06:08Plain flour.
06:09OK.
06:10There we go.
06:11Plain flour.

06:32Lots of mushrooms.
06:33There we go, Small.
06:34And an onion.
06:35One onion.
06:37All there.
06:38Phew!
06:39That's a lot of stuff, isn't it?
06:41I didn't realise pizzas had so much in them.
06:43Oh, yeah.
06:44You can make all kinds of different pizzas, Small.
06:46And you can put whatever you like onto a pizza.
06:49I'll tell you what.
06:50Why don't you whizz off and see how they're made?
06:52That's a great idea, Ben.
06:54I'll be back in a jiffy.
07:00Hey.
07:01Why don't you come along too?
07:02Whaaay!
07:07Go, Small.
07:08Go, Small.
07:09Whizz away.
07:10I wonder what he'll see today.
07:33There's a train!
07:34Choo-choo!
07:56Oh, I recognise this.
07:57I'm in a restaurant.
07:59A restaurant that makes pizzas.
08:12This dough is going to be used to make the base of the pizza.
08:24Whee!
08:26Up it goes!
08:29Now the base has been made, every pizza has a spoonful of tomato sauce.
08:44Then you can add any vegetables or meat you like.
08:50This pizza is going to have some peas.
08:52That's slices of red onion.
08:53What's next?
08:54Oh, tomato!
08:55And every pizza has cheese on the top.
09:07And every pizza has cheese on the top.
09:19Now the pizza has to be cooked in this big oven.
09:22.
09:27Mmmm.
09:28Smells delicious.
09:32Ooohh!
09:32It's ready!
09:33It's ready!
09:34Wow, that looks delicious.
09:43Everyone gets a slice of pizza.
09:50They're really enjoying that.
09:56That's made me really hungry.
09:58See you later.
10:04I'm back, Ben.
10:25It was brilliant.
10:29When I saw the cook throw the dough up into the air, it looked like a flying saucer.
10:33Up, up and away.
10:39Come on, Small, it's cooking time.
10:42We're all ready, so take a look and we will show you how to cook.

12:06Eh?
12:07What are you talking about, Small?
12:08Hee-hee-hee-hee!
12:13That's how they used to talk when nights were around.
12:15I was saying we should turn the oven on.
12:18Oh, right, Sir Cook.
12:19And what temperature, pray, should I set the oven to?
12:23220 degrees Celsius or gas mark seven.
12:27Righty-ho, my little chum.
12:32Tis done.
12:33Make sure you get your grown-up helper to do this bit for you
12:35because the oven is hot, hot, hot.
12:38And whilst you're there, Ben, I'll grease a baking tray
12:41ready to bake the pizza on.
12:43Now, we need to make the dough, which is the bready bit
12:46at the bottom of the pizza.
12:47And to do that, I'm going to use the flour.
12:50There we are.
12:52And the butter.
12:54In it goes.
12:56There we go.
12:58And now, I'm going to rub them both together like this.
13:02How are you getting on, Small?
13:07Won't be long.
13:09Aha, good.
13:11Now, I'm going to mix in the milk.
13:14There we are.
13:16Give it a good stir.
13:18Round and round we go.
13:20Nice stir there.
13:23There.
13:24And this time, I'm going to knead it gently
13:27until it's nice and smooth
13:29so we can roll it out.
13:33Nearly ready.
13:36Right, there we are.
13:37Our dough is perfectly rolled now.
13:39So, let's sprinkle a little bit of flour on the board.
13:42And let's roll it out.
13:48Clippity-clop, clippity-clop.

14:07Well, fill it my haddock.
14:10If I haven't seen everything now.
14:13Well, we've just got time to cut the dough
14:16into the shape of a shield.
14:18Make sure you get your grown-up helper
14:19to do this bit for you.
14:22Clippity-clop, clippity-clop, clippity-clop.
14:24Whoa there, Horsey!
14:27Perfect.
14:28Just like a knight's shield.
14:30Now, as soon as Small's ready...
14:32Ready!
14:33Okay.
14:34We can take the greased baking tray
14:36and lay the shield on top.
14:39There we are.
14:41Now, it doesn't look quite right.
14:44Something's missing.
14:45Oh, yes.
14:46We can divide it up into four
14:47with some more of the dough.
14:49One there, two there.
14:53And the rest is easy.
14:55Easy peasy!
14:57Now, take your tin tomatoes,
15:00and slosh it over your dough.
15:03Whoa-hoo!
15:04Hey, hey, hey, hey!
15:05Watch out for those tomatoes, first!
15:07Oh!
15:08Oops!
15:09Sorry, Small.
15:12Right.
15:13All we have to do now
15:14is decorate the pizza
