00:49Oh, hello everyone!
00:51Welcome to our cafe!
00:53The best cafe in the world!
00:56You haven't put those cards away yet, Ben!
00:59Sorry small, but I was just trying to finish making my house of cards!
01:03And you have!
01:04It looks great!
01:05It might get in the way of the cooking though!
01:07Oh yes, you're right!
01:09Are you going to help me blow it down then, Small?
01:12OK!
01:13I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down!
01:23Hey!
01:24I know a really good game we could play with these cards, Small!
01:27Oh, goody!
01:28Have we got time?
01:29Of course!
01:30We don't have a customer yet, do we?
01:32OK Small, here's what we do.
01:33Right, I'll find a card like a...
01:36Oh!
01:37Four!
01:38There!
01:39So now we have to find four of something right here in the kitchen!
01:42OK, let's see...
01:44Erm...
01:45Oh!
01:46Bowls!
01:47One, two...
01:48I can see two bowls, but not four...
01:54Oh!
01:55I can see some spoons!
01:56How many?
01:57One, two, three, but not four!
02:02Well, what about cups?
02:03How many cups?
02:04Look!
02:05One, two, three, four!
02:06Yeah!
02:07Oh, great, Ben!
02:08Can I pick a card this time?
02:09Of course you can, Small!
02:10Here you go!
02:11Thanks, Ben!
02:12Oh, no!
02:13What?
02:14What is it, Small?
02:15It's a king, Ben!
02:16A king?
02:17Oh!
02:18Oh!
02:19Thanks, Ben!
02:20Oh, no!
02:21What?
02:22What?
02:23What is it, Small?
02:24It's a king, Ben!
02:25A king?
02:26Oh!
02:27That's a king!
02:28Oh!
02:29That's a king!
02:30Oh!
02:31Ooh!
02:32That is a tricky one!
02:33I mean, there isn't a king in the kitchen, is there?
02:35No!
02:36But I think I'd make a great king!
02:38Yes!
02:39In fact, with this cloak on...
02:41Wee-hee!
02:42I think I'd make a brilliant king!
02:45No time for that now, Small!
02:48You'd better get your kingly cloak off!
02:50You don't want to get it caught on your spoon-mobile!
02:52Okay!
02:53I'm on my way!
02:54Woo-hoo!
02:55Who's our customer today, Small?
03:02You'll never guess who it is, Ben!
03:07Give me a clue!
03:08Okay!
03:09She's wearing a crown and a cloak!
03:12Oh!
03:13A queen!
03:14A queen!
03:15Oh, my!
03:16We've got a queen in our cafe!
03:17I've just practised my bowing!
03:18Oh!
03:19Good morning, Mom!
03:20How very lovely to see you, Mom!
03:22Hoo-hoo!
03:23Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
03:24There's no time for any of that now, Ben!
03:27Let's get cooking!
03:28I think it's time to look in my book!
03:39We need a story to help us cook!
03:41Let's take a look in Little Cook's book!
03:45Little Cook's Adventures in the Big World!
03:48Let me see!
03:51One day I came across a beautiful castle.
03:54This was the Castle of Hearts, and inside lived the famous Queen of Hearts.
03:58The sweetest queen in the whole wide world!
04:01I knocked at the kitchen door.
04:04The cook was inside.
04:06He was in a real tizzy.
04:08You see, the Queen of Hearts was a very fussy eater,
04:11and the poor cook couldn't find anything she liked.
04:14He wrung his hands and said to me,
04:17I've tried sandwiches, I've tried jelly,
04:20but she won't put any of it in her belly.
04:24I've tried apples, juicy and scrummy,
04:27but even apples won't go in her tummy.
04:30I've tried vegetables, I've tried meat,
04:33but I can't find anything the queen will eat.
04:37Well, as you can imagine, I had to go to her rescue.
04:42I found the Queen of Hearts in the garden.
04:45Hello, Your Majesty, I said.
04:48I'm your new cook for today.
04:50Oh dear, she replied.
04:53That's a dreadful job, because I'm very fussy about food.
04:57You'll never find anything I like.
04:59What about these lovely strawberries? I asked.
05:03The strawberries looked juicy, and plump, and ripe.
05:07The Queen tried one, and...
05:09Ugh! She cried.
05:12It's too sour.
05:14Everything's too sour for me.
05:16I'm a sweet person, and I need sweet things.
05:19And it was then that I had one of my brilliant ideas.
05:23I took the strawberries away, and I made them into jam.
05:27Lovely sweet strawberry jam.
05:30I made jam sandwiches, and when the Queen tasted one, she said...
05:35Deeeeeeeelicious!
05:37And from that day on, the Queen of Hearts put jam on everything.
05:42On toast, on sausages, even on cabbage.
05:46Sometimes, she accidentally put it on herself.
05:50Look at me! She'd cry.
05:52I'm so jammy!
05:55Little cook to the rescue once again!
05:58That was a great adventure!
06:01Oh, yes!
06:02And I think it's given us a big clue about what to make for the Queen of Hearts.
06:06Don't you?
06:07Wahey!
06:08Maybe we could cook her something with jam!
06:11Oh, yes!
06:13But what?
06:14Hmm, I wonder.
06:16I know!
06:17Big Cook's Big Cookery Book!
06:18Of course!
06:19The Big Cookery Book!
06:20There's recipes for everything in there!
06:21And where do we look for things to cook?
06:23In the book!
06:24In the book!
06:25In the book!
06:26In Big Cook's Book!
06:27Here we are small!
06:28The perfect thing!
06:29Queen of Hearts tarts!
06:30The Queen of Hearts made some tarts all on a summer's day!
06:34The knave of hearts stole those tarts and took them clean away!
06:37Oh-ho!
06:38Well, that settles it!
06:39The Queen of Hearts loves jam tarts!
06:41Yes, she does small!
06:42And it's all thanks to you!
06:43After all, you introduced her to jam!
06:44Oh!
06:45That was nothing, Ben!
06:46Oh-ho!
06:47And I think we should make her some more right away!
06:48After all, that naughty knave did steal hers!
06:50Oh-ho!
06:51Oh-ho!
06:52Oh-ho!
06:53Oh-ho!
06:54Oh-ho!
06:55Oh-ho!
06:56Oh-ho!
06:57Oh-ho!
06:58Oh-ho!
06:59Oh-ho!
07:00Oh-ho!
07:01Oh-ho!
07:02Oh-ho!
07:03Oh-ho!
07:04Oh-ho!
07:05Oh-ho!
07:06Oh-ho!
07:07Oh-ho!
07:08Oh-ho!
07:09Oh-ho!
07:10Oh-ho!
07:11That's right, Ben!
07:12I'll read out the ingredients!
07:14And I'll see if we've got them!
07:15Okay!
07:16We're going to need short-crust pastry!
07:18Okay!
07:19Over to the fridge!
07:21Here we go!
07:22Yep!
07:23Short-crust pastry!
07:24Got it, Small!
07:25And strawberry jam!
07:26Strawberry jam!
07:27Here we-
07:28Oh!
07:29Erm!
07:30Right!
07:31Err!
07:32Okay then, Small, we've got the short-crust pastry!
07:35But the strawberry jam is a problem!
07:37How can strawberry jam be a problem?
07:40Because we haven't got any!
07:41Oh!
07:42Well, don't worry, Ben!
07:43I'll whizz off and get some!
07:45Only the best for our queen!
07:47Good idea, Small!
07:48And I'll get everything ready!
07:50Hey!
07:51Why don't you come along too?
07:52Woo-hoo!
07:53Go, Small!
07:54Go, Small!
07:55Go, Small!
07:56Go, Small!
07:57Whizz away!
07:58I wonder what he'll see today!
08:00Smells good in here!
08:14Strawberries!
08:15Strawberries!
08:16To make strawberry jam!
08:17My favourite!
08:18First of all, the strawberries have to be put in a big pan!
08:31And then the sugar is added to make it nice and sweet!
08:36The strawberries and sugar have to be mixed together on the hob!
08:41Mmm!
08:42Smells delicious!
08:43This mixture is being poured into the strawberries to help it thicken and become jam!
08:54Now the jam can be poured into jam jars and left to cool down!
09:02Lid on!
09:03And it also needs a label to tell us what sort of jam it is!
09:06This is strawberry jam!
09:08The Queen of Hearts favourite!
09:17Yummy strawberry jam!
09:18Better get back to the cafe!
09:20Bye!
09:24There we are!
09:29Hey!
09:30Good morning, Mum!
09:33How very nice to meet you, Mum!
09:36Should I call you Mum or your Majesty, Mum?
09:39Oh, hello there, Small!
09:43I was just, erm...
09:44Practicing your bowing!
09:46Well, yes!
09:49Hey!
09:50I brought back some jam!
09:52Oh, wow!
09:56Perfect!
09:57Jam fit for a Queen!
09:59I saw it being made, Ben!
10:01It was brilliant!
10:02They put all the ingredients into a big pot!
10:05Strawberries, sugar and water!
10:07And then it went all lovely and gooey!
10:11Sounds brilliant, Small!
10:13But we'd better get cooking!
10:14The sooner Mum gets her jam, the better!
10:16Right you are, Ben!
10:17We're all ready!
10:18So take a look!
10:19And we will show you how to cook!
10:23The jelly boats and pirates go!
10:29Princess Pee Pies!
10:31Parent cakes and fruity smiles!
10:32And envelopes surprise!
10:34We love our cafe and we love to cook!
10:37We have a fantastic recipe book!
10:41He is big cook and he is small!
10:47Friends in our cafe, we cook for them all!
10:51When your tummy gets all rumbly, you're ready for a treat!
10:57You can make something delicious to eat!
11:00Have you cleaned the surfaces?
11:09Yes!
11:10Have you washed your hands?
11:11Yes!
11:12All clean and ready to cook!
11:15Do you remember the ingredients to Queen of Hearts Tarts?
11:19You do!
11:20There was shortcrust pastry, one packet and strawberry jam!
11:25Three tablespoons!
11:26We're using strawberry, but you can use any flavour you like!
11:29Whoopee!
11:30Let's get started!
11:32Hee hee!
11:33Hey Ben!
11:34You'll need to turn the oven on first!
11:36Right you are small!
11:38OK then!
11:39Over to the oven we go!
11:40I'm going to turn it on to 200 degrees Celsius, gas mark six!
11:45Shhh!
11:46I'm going to get some jam!
11:49Hee hee hee!
11:50Ho ho ho ho ho!
11:51Make sure you get your grown up helper to do this bit for you!
11:54Because remember, the oven is hot, hot, hot!
11:57What's next small?
11:58Ho ho ho ho ho!
11:59Oh!
12:00You have to do the pastry bit next Ben!
12:04While I have a little taste!
12:07Mmm!
12:08OK then!
12:09Here's how we roll up the pastry!
12:12Here we go!
12:13First of all, I'm going to flour the board like this!
12:17And put a little bit onto the rolling pin!
12:20There!
12:21This will stop the pastry from sticking!
12:24Pop the pastry on!
12:26And roll away!
12:28And I'm going to turn it every so often!
12:32There we go!
12:33Mmm!
12:34Wouldn't it be lovely to be king!
12:35I could eat all the jam in the world!
12:36Ha ha ha!
12:37The queen of hearts, she made some tarts!
12:38All on a summer's day!
12:39The knave of hearts, he stole the tarts!
12:40And took them clean away!
12:41Ha ha ha!
12:42This pastry's nice and flat now!
12:43So, I'm going to take this round pastry cutter, and I'm going to make two circles exactly
13:04the same.
13:05One there.
13:07And another one.
13:09There!
13:10How am I doing, Small?
13:13Great. You're doing fine, Ben.
13:15Now, what shall I call myself?
13:17OK. King Little Cook Small.
13:21No, no, that's too long.
13:23King Cook.
13:25King Small.
13:27Oh, I don't know.
13:30There we are.
13:32Great.
13:33Now, I've put this lot of circles onto a grease baking tray.
13:37OK. And now, I'm going to take this heart-shaped pastry cutter.
13:41Here it is.
13:42And cut out heart shapes from the remaining lot of circles.
13:46Like this.
13:52And there's one.
13:56Over there.
13:58And another one.
14:03If you don't have a heart-shaped cutter,
14:05you could always get your grown-up helper to cut out a heart shape for you.
14:10I don't feel like a king yet.
14:12Perhaps some more jam might help.
14:15Woo-hoo!
14:17Now, I'm going to use a bit of water for this next part.
14:22I'll brush them around this pastry circle.
14:24And this will help the heart-shaped circle to stick on top.
14:31So, I'll just pick it up.
14:34Careful.
14:37And place it on top of the other circle.
14:43Great.
14:44I'll just do a few more.
14:45And now, for the jam in the middle.
14:55That's funny.
14:56I'm sure there was more jam in here.
15:00Small.
15:01Small, it was you.
15:09Mmm.
15:10Well, it's lucky I've got some more in here.
15:17Now, we're going to put some jam inside every heart.
15:20When the jam gets hot, it'll spread out.
15:34And the last one.
15:38Brilliant.
15:40All ready for the oven.
15:41So, oven gloves on.
15:46And over we go.
15:50And remember to get your own-up helper to do this bit for you.
15:53Because the oven is hot, hot, hot.
15:56In they go.
15:59For 15 minutes.
16:01I'll set the timer.
16:05For 15 minutes.
16:11There we are.
16:12Cooked and cooled.
16:14Just popping them onto a plate.
16:19There.
16:19They look brilliant.
16:21They look brilliant.
16:22Hey, hey.
16:23Perfect.
16:25Here goes.
16:28Queen of hearts, Tarts, coming through.
16:36There.
16:37All done.
16:38So, what do we do now?
16:40Can we play?
16:41Not yet.
16:42Time to clean and put away.
16:44Hooray!
16:45Wash, wipe, scrub and clean.
16:54Make the kitchen sparkle and gleam.
16:57My name's Ben.
17:02And my name's Paul.
17:03We've got the cleanest kitchen of all.
17:07Tidy all the bits and pop.
17:09The things that help us do our job.
17:11Ingredients we'll put away.
17:13Ready for use another day.
17:15Pots and pans will start to smell.
17:17If we don't wash them really well.
17:19And now it's clear.
17:20Let's all smile.
17:21We'll be finished in a little while.
17:22All around, up and down.
17:25We've got the cleanest cafe in town.
17:34Aha!
17:35Here comes the plate.
17:37Oh, yes.
17:39It looks like the Queen of Hearts enjoyed her tarts.
17:41And look, small.
17:44She's left a note.
17:45What does it say?
17:46What does it say?
17:48Let's see, shall we?
17:49It says, dear Big Cook Ben and Little Cook Small.
17:53My Queen of Hearts tarts were delicious.
17:57To say thank you, here's a little gift for my friend Small.
18:01Who introduced me to jam in the first place.
18:04I wonder what it is.
18:08Here you go, Small.
18:12Thanks, Ben.
18:15Wow!
18:16A crown for me.
18:23Brilliant.
18:24Oh, it really suits you, Small.
18:27Now I feel like a real king.
18:29King of the kitchen.
18:31See you soon.
18:33See you soon.
18:34Big cook, little cook.
18:41Welcome to our cafe.
18:46Big cook, little cook.
18:48We'll cook for everyone.
18:52We'll cook for everyone.
18:53All right.
