00:00Big cook, little cook, welcome to our cafe.
00:11Big cook, little cook, want you to come and play.
00:18Meeting all the friends we cook for, sharing stories, trips and fun.
00:25Big cook, little cook, we'll cook for everyone.
00:30Oh, hello. Welcome to our cafe, the best cafe in the world.
00:41I've just been cutting the grass, but it's going to take forever because the lawnmower's broken and I can't find Small.
00:48Have you seen him? Small? Small?
00:52Small? Hey, why don't you shout with me?
00:56One, two, three. Small!
01:01Oh, I can't find Small, I think he's lost.
01:06Oh, hello Ben, what's the matter?
01:10Oh, there you are. I was worried, whatever are you doing?
01:14Oh, I'm just having a bit of a rest after all that grass cutting.
01:17All that grass cutting?
01:19Oh, yes.
01:21Look.
01:23One blade of grass. Is that all you've done? One blade of grass?
01:27Well, it might be one blade of grass to you, my friend, but to me it's like a tree.
01:31We'll have a lawn up to our ears in no time at this rate.
01:35Well, maybe you shouldn't have broken the lawnmower.
01:37Well, I didn't break the lawnmower. It just got old. That's all, Small.
01:44Aha! Come on. Customer Small.
01:47I'm on my way.
01:48And who's our customer today, Small?
02:05You'll never guess. It's old MacDonald.
02:08Old MacDonald?
02:10You know Ben, the farmer from the farm down the road.
02:14He keeps chickens and pigs and the most beautiful brown horse ever.
02:19Well, we'd better make something a bit special for him then.
02:22Yes.
02:23But what?
02:24Something to do with animals.
02:27Moo!
02:29Hee-hee!
02:30Can you guess which animal I am?
02:32A cow!
02:34Shh, Small. I'm trying to think.
02:37Moo!
02:38Oink, oink.
02:39Cock-a-doodoo-doo-doo!
02:40What on earth are you doing, Small?
02:43I'm making farm animal noises, Ben.
02:45Farms are full of animals.
02:47I think it's time to look in my book.
02:59We need a story to help us cook.
03:02Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
03:05Little Cook's Adventures in the Big World.
03:08Let me see.
03:11One day I was going for a walk when I heard a lot of noise.
03:15It was a farmyard full of howling animals.
03:18They were neighing and mooing and barring and barking and grunting and meowing.
03:24It was the most dreadful noise I had ever heard.
03:27I just had to go and find out what the problem was.
03:31The horse told me that everyone on the farm was really, really hungry because the farmer hadn't fed them that morning.
03:39Not all the animals were there, though.
03:44The chickens were missing, so I went to see if I could find them.
03:48But did I get a big surprise when I got to the chicken coop?
03:51All the hens were busy clucking and fussing around the cockerel.
03:56The poor cockerel was lying in bed looking really ill.
04:00He'd lost his voice.
04:02All he could say was,
04:03Instead of cock-a-doo-doo-doo-doo.
04:10How terrible.
04:12A cockerel without a cock-a-doo-doo-doo.
04:14I soon realised what the problem was.
04:21The farmer and his wife were still fast asleep.
04:24No wonder the farmer hadn't woken up.
04:27You see, it's the cockerel's job to wake the farmer up.
04:30Every day, at dawn, the cockerel stands on top of the chicken house
04:34and sings his wake-up call as loud as he can.
04:38Cock-a-doo-doo-doo.
04:41Cock-a-doo-doo-doo.
04:42Then the farmer wakes up
04:46and knows it's time to feed all the animals.
04:49But because the cockerel had lost his voice,
04:52the farmer hadn't woken up.
04:54That's when I did my famous cockerel impression.
04:57Cock-a-doo-doo-doo.
04:59Cock-a-doo-doo-doo.
05:01That soon woke them up.
05:03At last the animals would be fed.
05:06Little cook to the rescue once again.
05:08That was a great adventure.
05:14Cock-a-doo-doo-doo.
05:17Whee-hey!
05:19I'm back, Ben.
05:21There we go.
05:24The farmer and his wife rushed out of bed
05:26and soon they'd fed all the animals.
05:28I bet you know exactly what to cook for Old MacDonald, then.
05:32Oh, I've forgotten about that.
05:34Let's see.
05:35It can't be that difficult.
05:37Oh, I know something that might help us.
05:40It's a song about our customer, Old MacDonald.
05:43That's sure to help us.
05:45Will you join in?
05:46Goodie, I know this one, too.
05:51Old MacDonald had a farm.
05:54E-I-E-I-O.
05:56And on his farm he had some chicks.
05:59E-I-E-I-O.
06:00With a cluck-cluck here and a cluck-cluck there.
06:04Here a cluck, there a cluck.
06:05Everywhere a cluck-cluck.
06:06Old MacDonald had a farm.
06:09E-I-E-I-O.
06:11Old MacDonald had a farm.
06:15E-I-E-I-O.
06:17And on his farm he had some chicks.
06:20E-I-E-I-O.
06:22With an oink-oink here and an oink-oink there.
06:25Here a oink, there a oink.
06:26Everywhere an oink-oink.
06:28Old MacDonald had a farm.
06:30E-I-E-I-O.
06:35Oh, I love that song, Ben.
06:38Me too.
06:39There are so many things that come from a farm, aren't there?
06:42Yeah.
06:42But we have to think of something for Old MacDonald in our cafe.
06:46But what?
06:50I know.
06:56Big Cook's Big Cookery Book.
06:58Of course, the Big Cookery Book.
07:00There's recipes for everything in there.
07:02And where do we look for things to cook?
07:04In the book.
07:05In the book.
07:06In Big Cook's Book.
07:08Ah-ha.
07:10Look.
07:11The perfect thing.
07:13Farmyard smoothies.
07:14Mmm.
07:15Milky drinks that look like animals.
07:17Whoopee.
07:18Hooray.
07:19You read out the ingredients, little cook, and I'll see if we've got them.
07:22Okay.
07:23Let's see.
07:23We're going to need a banana.
07:25Okay.
07:27Banana.
07:28Honey.
07:29Honey.
07:30That's honey, not bunny, Ben.
07:33Oh-ho.
07:34Sorry.
07:35Honey.
07:37Yoghurt, and most important of all, milk.
07:40Yoghurt, and, um...
07:42Oh.
07:43Are we out of milk?
07:44I'm afraid so.
07:46Oh.
07:47Well, that scrambled our plans.
07:49What are we going to do now, Small?
07:51We can't make smoothies without milk.
07:54Not to worry, Ben.
07:56I'll whiz off and get some.
07:58Oh-ho, Small.
07:59You're the popping popcorn, and I'll get everything ready.
08:02I'll be back in two shakes of a lamb's tail.
08:05Hey, why don't you come along, too?
08:08Whoopee.
08:10Whoa.
08:12Go, Small.
08:13Go, Small.
08:14Whiz away.
08:16I wonder what he'll see today.
08:32I wonder what he'll see today.
09:02Oh, I wonder if I'm in the right place.
09:09Look at the lovely green grass, and, oh, what's that?
09:15Something's eating the grass.
09:17It's a cow.
09:19There's lots of black and white cows.
09:23Moo, moo, moo.
09:25Ha, ha, ha, ha.
09:32Here comes the farmer on his tractor.
09:36He's rounding up the cows, because twice a day they have to be milked.
09:44Moo!
09:46Ha, ha, moo to you, too.
09:49This is the milking parlour.
09:59Come on, in you go.
10:01The farmer attaches suction pipes to the cow's udders.
10:23The milk is taken from the cow.
10:38The milk is taken from the cow.
10:38Wow, look at all that milk.
10:53The milk then goes to a factory, where it's heated and cooled and put into cartons.
10:59At home, we keep milk in the fridge, so it stays fresh.
11:18Milk is tasty and very good for you.
11:20I like to drink milk, too, or have it on my cereal at breakfast.
11:30I'd better get some milk back to the cafe.
11:32See you later.
11:33There's a train!
11:55Choo-choo!
11:56Choo-choo!
11:58There we are.
12:07All set and ready to go.
12:10All we need now is the milk.
12:13Whee-hey!
12:15I'm back, Ben!
12:17I've brought the milk, fresh from the farm.
12:20Woo-hoo!
12:22Oh, nice and creamy.
12:25Lovely.
12:26We're all ready, so take a look and we will show you how to cook.
12:35Jelly boats and pirates go, princess pea pies.
12:39Parent cakes and fruity smiles, and envelopes surprise.
12:43We love our cafe and we love to cook.
12:46We have a fantastic recipe book.
12:50He is big cook and he is small.
12:56Friends in our cafe, we cook for them all.
13:00When your tummy gets all rumbly, you're ready for a treat.
13:06You can make something delicious to eat.
13:09Have you cleaned the surfaces?
13:17Yes.
13:18Have you washed your hands?
13:19Yes.
13:20All clean and ready to cook.
13:23Do you remember what we need for farmyard smoothies?
13:27You do?
13:27There was a banana, one sliced honey, one teaspoon, yoghurt, one tablespoon, and last of all, milk.
13:38One cup.
13:40Woo-wee-hey!
13:41Let's get started.
13:43Now mash up the banana with a fork.
13:46In it goes.
13:48There we are.
13:49Oh, mash it up.
13:51Mash, mash, mash, mash.
13:52I like this bit.
13:54Oh, there we go.
13:56Now we're making a drink to remind old MacDonald of his farm.
14:00It's a yellow chip drink.
14:03There we go.
14:06Now we also need to make a paper head and tail for the drink.
14:09And my little chum here can take care of that.
14:11Okey-cokey!
14:12What noises do chicks make?
14:21I know.
14:23Cluck, cluck, cluck.
14:24Cluck, cluck, cluck.
14:25Ha, ha, ha, ha.
14:27OK.
14:28Now, to our mashed banana, we add our yoghurt.
14:33In it goes.
14:37Lovely.
14:40Our honey.
14:43There we are.
14:45Make it nice and sweet.
14:48All that in.
14:53And then, finally, we put in the milk.
15:00And then mix it all together to make a lovely, thick banana drink.
15:05Mix it up.
15:06Mix it up.
15:07We just finished popping the rest into a glass.
15:13Oh, very nice.
15:14Doesn't that look good?
15:15Our drink's just about ready for Small's head and tail decoration.
15:19Small, how's this chick's face coming along?
15:22That's the face done.
15:23Now for the tail.
15:24Oh, yes.
15:25The tail.
15:26Oh, oh.
15:27Buk, buk, buk, buk, buk, buk, buk, buk.
15:29Buk, buk, buk, buk.
15:31Buk, buk, buk.
15:33How is the tail?
15:34Cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck.
15:36I've finished and I've stuck some tape on the back.
15:39Cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck.
15:41Thank you, Small.
15:44On we go.
15:47Now I just need a straw, please, Small.
15:53Here you go, Ben.
15:55Oh, thank you.
15:57And there we are.
15:59One lovely chick drink.
16:01Cluck, cluck, cluck.
16:02Now if you want to make a pink piggy smoothie,
16:06oink, oink, oink,
16:07all you have to do is add strawberries instead of bananas.
16:11Come on, Ben.
16:12We'd better get that chick drink off to Old MacDonald.
16:14It looks so good.
16:16Right-o.
16:17One farmyard smoothie coming through.
16:27Oh, there.
16:29So what do we do now?
16:30Can we play?
16:31Not yet.
16:32Time to clean up and put away.
