00:00Big cook, little cook, welcome to our cafe. Big cook, little cook, want you to come and play.
00:17Meeting all the friends we cook for, sharing stories, trips and fun. Big cook, little cook, we'll cook for everyone.
00:31Well, it's a wonderful day, got a big smile on my face. Hello everyone, welcome to our cafe, the best cafe in the world. The perfect place to come on a wonderful day like today.
00:48Hello everyone. You sound like a very happy chappy today, Ben.
00:55Oh, it seems like Ben has more than just a smile on his face. He's got a big red spot too.
01:02Oh, that's more. Why are you staring at me? Staring? Yes, maybe you think I look rather handsome today.
01:13It's not that, Ben. I'm staring at your spot.
01:18What spot?
01:20That one, on your chin.
01:23Where?
01:25There.
01:26Oh, it's no good. I can't see it. I need a mirror.
01:30But we don't have a mirror, Ben. Why don't you try seeing your reflection in something shiny? Like a saucepan lid.
01:37Good idea, little cook. Oh, there we are.
01:41Here we go.
01:43Let's have a look at this spot.
01:48My face looks all funny in this, little cook.
01:50It's sort of fat and sort of thin at the same time.
01:54But I still can't see this spot though.
01:56Oh, sounds like we've got a customer.
01:59I'll have to worry about that later.
02:01Go and see who it is, little cook.
02:03I'm on my way!
02:05Woohoo!
02:15So, who's our customer today, Small?
02:17Well, she's white with brown spots.
02:21Hmm. White with brown spots, you say?
02:24Give us another clue.
02:25She likes to go moo.
02:28And she's very good at jumping over the moon.
02:31Oh, wait a minute.
02:34Hey, diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle.
02:37The cow jumped over the moon.
02:40The little dog laughed to see such fun.
02:42And the dish, run away with the spoon.
02:46Oh, it's Clover, the cow who jumped over the moon.
02:50You're right, Ben. Clover the cow.
02:52Now, what would a moon jumping cow like to eat?
02:55I think it's time to look in my book.
02:57We need a story to help us cook.
03:09Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
03:13Little Cook's adventures in the big world.
03:16Let me see.
03:17One evening I was camping out under the stars when...
03:24I was suddenly awoken by the sound of a fiddle.
03:28Followed by loud laughter.
03:30I poked my head out of the tent and saw a cat playing the fiddle.
03:38Whilst a little dog, a cow, a china dish and a silver spoon danced together beneath the moon.
03:45When the music stopped, I cheered.
03:48Hello, laughed the little dog.
03:53Come and watch Clover the cow.
03:54She's going to jump over the moon.
03:57It won't be easy, said Clover.
04:02The moon is in a bit of a silly mood.
04:08Everyone looked up at the moon.
04:10Silly Billy me, it giggled and it bounced around the sky.
04:16We all held our breath as Clover tried to jump over the moon.
04:21But it kept bouncing away.
04:23I wish the moon would keep still, Clover groaned.
04:29I can't jump over it.
04:32Suddenly I had an idea.
04:35You are such a beautiful moon.
04:37It stopped bouncing and listened.
04:41So creamy and dreamy, I continued.
04:47You're nearly as beautiful as the other moon.
04:50What other moon? said the moon.
04:54It's there, floating on top of the lake, I said.
04:59The moon stayed very still as it stared at its own reflection in the lake and whilst it was staring...
05:04Moo!
05:08Clover the cow leapt right over it.
05:11Hooray! I cheered.
05:14There isn't really a moon more beautiful than you, I told the moon.
05:19It's just your own reflection in the water.
05:22Silly Billy me, giggled the moon, admiring its own reflection.
05:27And suddenly it saw Clover's reflection too.
05:31Just as she jumped over it.
05:34Hee hee!
05:36We look wonderful together Clover! said the moon.
05:41So Clover kept jumping and the little dog laughed and laughed.
05:46Little cook to the rescue once again!
05:48That was a great adventure!
05:51So Clover jumped over the moon and the moon was very pleased indeed thanks to you Small.
05:58Thanks Ben!
06:00So, what can we cook for a hungry moon leaper?
06:06That's a good question Ben!
06:08Ooh!
06:10I know! Big Cook's Big Cookery book!
06:21Of course! The Big Cookery book!
06:23There's recipes for everything in there!
06:25And where do we look for things to cook?
06:28In the book! In the book! In Big Cook's book!
06:32Aha! Here we go! I found just the recipe for Clover!
06:35It's creamy, it's dreamy and a little bit dotty too!
06:39It's spotty trifle!
06:41And it's spotty just like Clover the cow!
06:45It's moo-pa-do-pa!
06:48Okay, you read out the ingredients little cook and I'll see if we've got them!
06:52Okay, let's see! We're going to need jelly!
06:55Ooh, jelly! Yes! Here we go!
06:57Jelly in the cupboard!
06:59We're using strawberry, but you can use any flavour you like!
07:01Trifle sponges!
07:03In the cupboard as well!
07:04Got the trifle sponges, Small!
07:06Jam!
07:08Ooh, jam! Yes! Lovely jam!
07:10Yep!
07:12A tin of fruit cocktail!
07:14Ooh, very fruity!
07:15Got the fruit cocktail!
07:17Custard!
07:19Ooh, lovely yellow custard! I love this! Got it, Small!
07:21Chocolate buttons!
07:23Chocolate buttons! Ooh, lovely chocolate buttons! I love these!
07:25In the fridge! Chocolate buttons! Got those too, Small!
07:28And some cream for whipping!
07:30Ooh, delicious cream! Here we go! Oh, right! Okay! There we are!
07:36Right! Small, we don't seem to have any cream for whipping!
07:41Oh, no!
07:42But it's okay, because we've got everything else!
07:44So why don't you whizz off and get some, and I'll get all the ingredients ready!
07:48That's a great idea, Ben! See you later!
07:50Hey, why don't you come along too?
07:56Wahey!
08:00Go, Small! Go, Small! Whizz away!
08:03I wonder what he'll see today!
08:05I love the countryside!
08:18That's grass!
08:20Something is eating the grass!
08:24What is it?
08:26It's a cow!
08:28Moo!
08:30This is a milking parlour!
08:33Pipes are put on the cow's udders to suck out the milk!
08:37I wonder where the milk goes next!
08:39Hey, what's in that big tanker?
08:42Oh! It's full of the milk from the cows!
08:46The milk is being delivered to the dairy!
08:51That man is connecting up a pipe so that the milk can travel from the tanker into the dairy to be made into cream!
09:00This is the dairy!
09:04The milk is heated up to just the right temperature and it travels through all these pipes!
09:10The cream is separated from the milk!
09:15Hey! That's the cream!
09:19Now the cream is poured into this machine!
09:22It's called a pasteuriser!
09:24The cream is heated up to get rid of any harmful bugs!
09:26This makes it safe to eat!
09:29The cream is now cool and ready to put into bottles!
09:33Remember to keep your cream in the fridge!
09:36I'd better get some of this cream back to the cafe!
09:39See you later!
09:40See you later!

09:48Help me see my big red boil!
09:52Wahey!
09:54I'm back!
09:55Have you managed to see your spot yet, Ben?
09:57Not yet, Small. This foil's too crinkly.
10:00Well, let's get on with making the trifle. It'll cheer you up. Woo-hoo!
10:05And I've brought back the cream.
10:08Woo-hoo!
10:10Woo-hoo! Well done, Small.
10:13It's so scrummy and creamy. I had a great time.
10:16I saw cows being milked.
10:19Moo!
10:21And then I went to the dairy where I saw cream being made.
10:25Ooh, yummy!
10:27Come on then, Small. Let's get started.
10:29We're all ready, so take a look.
10:32And we will show you how to cook.
10:38Jelly boats and pirates go princess pea pies.
10:42Parent cakes and fruity smiles as envelopes surprise.
10:45We love our cafe and we love to cook.
10:49We have a fantastic recipe book.
10:55He is big cook and he is small.
10:59Friends in our cafe, we cook for them all.
11:03When your tummy gets all rumbly, you're ready for a treat.
11:08You can make something delicious to eat.
11:18Have you cleaned the surfaces?
11:20Yes. Have you washed your hands?
11:22Yes!
11:23All clean and ready to cook.
11:26Do you remember the ingredients to Spotty Trifle?
11:29You do.
11:30There was jelly.
11:32One packet of your favourite flavour.
11:34We're using strawberry.
11:35Trifle sponges.
11:36Four.
11:37Jam.
11:38One tablespoon of your favourite flavour.
11:40Again, we're using strawberry.
11:42Fruit cocktail.
11:43One tin.
11:44Custard.
11:45One carton.
11:46Chocolate buttons.
11:47One packet.
11:48And cream for whipping.
11:50250 millilitres.
11:52Whoopee! Let's get started.
11:55I've cut the trifle sponges in half.
11:57And now I'm going to cover them in the sticky jam.
12:00Hoo-hoo!
12:05There's one.
12:06Hoo-hoo-hoo!
12:08I love jammy jobs.
12:09Ha!
12:10So do I!
12:11Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
12:12Finish the last one off.
12:16Nice and jammy.
12:18Hoo-hoo!
12:19On goes the top.
12:22And we can lay the trifle sponges at the bottom of a trifle bowl.
12:28There we are.
12:30Oh!
12:31I think I'll have to keep my eye on little cook so he doesn't eat all the jam.
12:34He can't resist it.
12:36Mmm!
12:37I'm just checking the jam's nice and fresh.
12:40Ho-ho-ho-ho!
12:41Oh, yes!
12:42And now you've got a jammy moustache.
12:44Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!
12:46I love jam!
12:48Hoo-hoo!
12:49Right!
12:50These sponges are lovely and jammy now.
12:52So I'm going to sieve the juice from the fruit cocktail into a bowl
12:58to separate the fruit from the juice.
13:01And this is a slippy sloppy job so look out you don't get dripped on little cook.
13:06Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!
13:07Drip this way please, Ben!
13:09Mmm!
13:10Right.
13:11Now I can sprinkle the fruit over the sponges.
13:17You can use fresh fruit if you like.
13:19Fruit is very good for you.
13:21Hee-hee-hee!
13:22Hey Ben!
13:23How's your spot?
13:24I'd forgotten all about my spot until you reminded me.
13:27Ho-ho-ho!
13:28Right.
13:29Now I've already dissolved the jelly cubes in some hot water.
13:32And that's a job for your grown up helper to do because the water is hot, hot, hot!
13:37Once the cubes have dissolved, we can pour it all over the sponges and the fruit.
13:44Do it quite carefully so that it doesn't splash.
13:47Splash this way please, Ben!
13:51Hee-hee-hee!
13:52When the jelly has cooled down, it needs to go in the fridge to set for two hours.
13:56So, over we go.
13:58And into the fridge for two hours.
14:05The jelly is set now, so it's time to pour on the custard.
14:15Here we go.
14:18Oh-ho!
14:20Look at that!
14:21It's like a lovely yellow custardy waterfall.
14:24Is it time to put the cream on now, Ben?
14:27Yes, it is small and it's going to get gloopy, so stand well back!
14:31Ho-ho-ho-ho!
14:32Pour the cream into a bowl like this and then start mixing.
14:40It'll start to get thicker.
14:43An electric whisk will help, but I'm going to try and do it with my arm.
14:47Woo-hoo!
14:49Be careful, Ben!
14:51Ho-ho-ho-ho!
14:55Oh, no!
14:56I've been splashed!
14:58Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!
15:00Whoops!
15:01Sorry, small.
15:02Now look who's got spots.
15:03Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
15:05Hee-hee-hee-hee!
15:06Ho-ho-ho!
15:07I'd better go and get myself cleaned up!
15:09Ho-ho-ho!
15:10Now the cream's ready when it starts to make little mountain peaks like this.
15:14So once it's ready, we can start to spread it on the custard.
15:19So I'm going to take a spoon and onto the custard it goes.
15:28And we've got lots of it, so get it all on.
15:32There we go.
15:33Lovely and creamy.
15:34And spread it out.
15:39Nice and smooth.
15:43Ho-ho-ho-ho!
15:44What about the spots, Ben?
15:46A spotty trifle needs spots.
15:48Ho-ho!
15:49Whoops!
15:50I almost forgot.
15:51To make the trifle spotty, we cover it with chocolate buttons.
15:56Spotty.
15:57Dotty.
15:58Spotty.
15:59Dotty.
16:00Spotty.
16:01Dotty.
16:02Spotty.
16:03Dotty.
16:04Spotty.
16:05Dotty.
16:06Spotty!
16:07Ha-ho-ho-ho!
16:08There.
16:09And when the trifle's nice and spotty, it's finished.
16:14Quick, Ben.
16:15Get it to clover the cow while it's still nice and cool.
16:18OK, then.
16:19One spotty trifle coming through.
16:26There.
16:27All done.
16:28So what do we do now?
16:29Can we play?
16:31Not yet.
16:32Time to clean and put away.
16:34Hooray!
16:39Wash, wipe, scrub and clean.
16:44Make the kitchen sparkle and glean.
16:46My name's Ben.
16:51And my name's Small.
16:53We've got the cleanest kitchen of all.
16:56Tidy all the bits and pop.
16:59The things that help us do our jobs.
17:01Ingredients we'll put away.
17:03Ready for use another day.
17:04Pots and pans will start to smell.
17:06If we don't wash them really well.
17:08And now it's clear.
17:09Let's all smile.
17:10We'll be finished in a little while.
17:12All around.
17:13Up and down.
17:15We've got the cleanest cafe in town.
17:27Aha!
17:28Here comes the plate.
17:29Oh, yes.
17:30And it looks like Clover the cow enjoyed her spotty trifle.
17:33Look Small.
17:34She's left a note.
17:35What does it say?
17:36What does it say?
17:37What does it say?
17:38What does it say?
17:39Let's see, shall we?
17:40It says, Dear Big Cook Ben and Little Cook Small.
17:43Thank you for the scrumptious spotty trifle.
17:45Hoo hoo!
17:46I'm very busy moon jumping these days.
17:49The moon keeps still most of the time.
17:51She loves watching our reflections in the lake.
17:53Oh, talking about reflections, I have a moon mirror for each of you.
17:58I hope your spot goes soon, Big Cook Ben.
18:01Big Moose from Clover.
18:03Look Small.
18:04It's mirrors.
18:05Here's your mirror, Small.
18:08Thanks, Ben.
18:10Oh, how very kind of Clover.
18:14And how very handsome.
18:17Ho ho ho.
18:18Aha!
18:19At last, a mirror.
18:20Now, let's have a look at this spot.
18:22Oh!
18:23Hang on a minute.
18:26That's not a spot.
18:27It's a blob of tomato sauce.
18:32See you soon.
18:35See you soon.
18:37Big Cook Little Cook.
18:46Welcome to our cafe.
