Transcript
00:00In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, the grace of our Lord Jesus
00:20Christ in the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Good morning
00:26everyone. In today's Gospel is the Magnificat, a very personal prayer of Mary becomes a universal
00:35prayer for Catholics. She speaks about the attentiveness of God.
00:45How is our prayer to God? Are we thanking God? Are we praising the blessings of God, the
01:01grace he is giving to us every day? It should be always praising, thanking,
01:13experiencing his attentiveness to our own personal things,
01:18which will give us a very close connection with him. As we prepare, it's a very close
01:31preparation for Christmas. Let's also try to experience his attentiveness, attentive awareness
01:42in our personal things, in our personal lives, each one of us. Sometimes we fail to experience that,
01:52sometimes we fail to express that gratefulness. Let's take a moment to accept all our failures
02:01and weaknesses, and ask pardon for that, and prepare verses to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
02:17I confess to our mighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my
02:25thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do, through my fault,
02:32through my fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore, I ask, Blessed Mary, ever-Virgin,
02:38all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.
02:46May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
02:51Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy. Let us pray.
03:05O God, who seeing the human race fallen into death, we need to redeem it by the coming of your early
03:14begotten Son. Grant, we pray, that those who confess his Incarnation with humble favor,
03:24may merit his company as their Redeemer, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
03:32God forever and ever.
03:33O reading from the first book of Samuel.
03:47When Hannah had weaned Samuel, she took him up with her together, with her three-year-old bull,
03:56and a flower of flower, and a skin of wine, and she brought him to the temple of the Lord at Shiloh,
04:06and the child was with them. They slaughtered the bull, and the child's mother came to Elie.
04:14She said, If you please, my Lord, as you leave my Lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you,
04:23praying to the Lord. This is the child I prayed for, and the Lord granted me what I asked him.
04:32Now I make him over to the Lord for the whole of his life. He is made over to the Lord.
04:42There she left him for the Lord.
04:47Word of the Lord
04:48Our response today. My heart rejoices in the Lord, my Saviour.
04:59My heart excels in the Lord, I find my strength in my God. My mouth laughs at my enemies,
05:05as I rejoice in your saving help. My heart rejoices in the Lord, my Saviour.
05:12The bowels of the mighty are broken, but the weak are clothed with strength.
05:21Those with plenty must labor for bread, but the hungry need work no more.
05:28The childless wife has children now, but the fruitful wife bears no more.
05:33My heart rejoices in the Lord, my Saviour. It is the Lord who gives life and death.
05:44He brings men to the grave and back. It is the Lord who gives poverty and riches.
05:51He brings men low and praise them on high.
05:54My heart rejoices in the Lord, my Saviour. He lifts up the lowly from the dust,
06:05from the dung heap. He raises the poor, to set him in the company of princes,
06:14to give him a glorious throne. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's,
06:20on them he has set the world. My heart rejoices in the Lord, my Saviour.
06:30Alleluia! Alleluia! Come, King of all nations, source of your church,
06:35unity and faith. Save all people in your own creation. Alleluia!
06:41The Lord be with you. Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
06:52Mary said, My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit excels in God, my Saviour,
07:00because he has looked upon his lovely handmaid. Yes, from this day forward,
07:06all generations will call me blessed. For the Almighty has done great things for me.
07:14Holy is his name, and his mercy reaches from age to age for those who fear him.
07:22He has shown the power of his arm. He has routed the proud of heart. He has pulled down princes from
07:30their thrones and exulted the lowly. The hungry he has filled with good things. The rich sent empty away.
07:40He has come to the help of Israel, his servant mindful of his mercy. According to the promises
07:48he made to our ancestors, of his mercy to Abraham and to his descendants forever.
07:56He stayed with Elizabeth about three months and then went back home.
08:08The Gospel of the Lord.
08:15Blessed are you, Lord God of your creation. For through your goodness we have received the bread we
08:20offer you fruit of the earth and work of human hands. It will become our bread of life.
08:40our spirits for a drink.
08:50Blessed are you, Lord God of your creation. For through your goodness we have received the wine we
08:55offer you. Fruit of the wine and work of human hands. It will become our spirits for a drink.
09:00the wine we have received the wine and work of human hands.
09:17Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
09:22Trusting in your compassion, O Lord, we come eagerly with our offerings to your sacred altar,
09:41that through the purifying action of your grace, we may be cleansed by the very mysteries we serve
09:48through Christ our Lord. The Lord be with you. Lift up your hearts. Let us give thanks Lord our God.
10:01It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you
10:06thanks Lord Holy Father Almighty and eternal God through Christ our Lord. For all the miracles of
10:14the prophets foretold Him. The Virgin Mother longed for Him with love beyond all telling.
10:20John the Baptist sang of His coming and proclaimed His presence when He came.
10:26It is by His gift that already we rejoice at the mystery of His nativity,
10:33so that He may find us watchful in prayer and exultant in His praise.
10:38As with angels and archangels, with thrones and medians, and with all the hosts and powers of
10:44heaven, we sing the hymn of your glory, as without end we acclaim, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts,
10:54heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of
11:00the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. You are holy indeed, O Lord, the founder of all holiness.
11:13Make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall,
11:19so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
11:25At the time He was betrayed and entered willingly into His passion. He took bread and giving thanks,
11:34broke it and gave it to His disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it. For this is my body,
11:43which will be given up for you, which will be given up for you.
11:59In a similar way, when Shavravas entered, He took the Chalice and once more giving thanks,
12:04He gave to His disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it. For this is the Chalice of
12:12my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you
12:18and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
12:35The mystery of faith, when we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death
12:40O Lord, until you come again. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of
12:48his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
12:55giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
13:01Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into
13:07one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world and bring
13:13her to the fullness of charity, together with the lay of 14, the Pope, Charles, our Bishop
13:19and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope
13:27of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into the light of
13:34your face.
13:35Half-mercy on us all, we pray that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Blessed Joseph,
13:42her Spouse, with the blessed Apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the
13:47ages, we remember it to be cohesed to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your
13:54Son, Jesus Christ. Through him and with him and in him, God Almighty, Father, in the unity
14:04of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.
14:17The Savior has commanded and formed by divine teaching, we died to say, Our Father, who art
14:23in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thou wilt be done on earth as it is in heaven.
14:30Give us this day our deliberate and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass
14:37against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliberate us, Lord,
14:44we pray from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy,
14:50we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we avoid the blessed hope
14:55and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are
15:01yours now and forever. Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles,
15:06Peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins but on the faith of your church,
15:12and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign
15:18forever and ever. Peace of the Lord be with you always. Let us offer you to the sign of
15:25our God and the glory of our Jesus Christ.
15:36Love of God you take away the sins of the world have mercy on us.
15:41Love of God you take away the sins of the world have mercy on us.
15:45Lamb of God you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
15:48Grandest Peace
16:07Behold the Lamb of God, behold Him who takes away the sins of the world
16:11Blessed are those called to the Supper of the Lamb
16:15Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my room
16:18But only say the Lord and my soul shall be healed
16:21My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament
16:30I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul
16:35Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally
16:38Commodly, spiritually into my heart
16:41I embrace you as if you were already there
16:44And unite myself wholly to you
16:47Never permit me to be separated from you
16:50Amen
16:51Let us pray
16:55May reception of your sacrament strengthen us, O Lord, so that we may go out to meet
17:04our Saviour with worthy deeds when he comes and merit the rewards of the blessed through
17:11Christ our Lord, Lord be with you
17:16Your mighty God bless you the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit
17:19And as we said it, let us go and live the gospel
