01:02Well, he got a moon god, gave me the recipe for Bloomin' Onion.
01:09Yes, that's right, the Bloomin' Onion.
01:11I'll be serving that with some fries, and a delicious steak.
01:18But what I want to be focusing on is, I've done steak and potatoes before, the Bloomin' Onion!
01:26So I'll be making the Bloomin' Onion, and I'm going to try to fry it in beef tallow.

03:50works. Best we can get it, doesn't quite look like, but we'll see. Okay we'll put this aside
04:02and start getting our ingredients ready to batter this damn thing. Also we'll get our
04:08tallow started and we'll cut up some fries.
04:12Alright, we've got a pan here, we're going to start getting it heated up.
04:21We've got some beef tallow. Now I don't know how this works. Looks kind of like Crisco, but
04:27it's beef tallow. And well let's spoon it in and get it to melt. At least mix it in with
04:36some oil if we have to. Let's see how much this works. Hopefully it's enough.
04:43Alright, we're going to make a small batch of potatoes. And we're going to boil and blanch.
04:57Almost fell. So let's cut these potatoes. This is a small batch. It's kind of steak fries.

06:30Alright. The towel is starting to get there, so let's get the onion, breaded and prepared.
06:34prepared so let's get two and a half cups of flour there we go there's one oh you know i think we
06:42could make do it just one two cups of flour there we go there we go that should be enough flour i
06:52think and put a little of this extra just in case all right all right we got two and a half cups of
07:06flour then we're going to need a tablespoon of paprika all right so let's get the paprika
07:17that might be about a tablespoon of course we're going to put a little bit of accent
07:21in there that's my own special ingredient
07:29then we need a teaspoon of cayenne pepper that's more or less a teaspoon
07:37all right then we need a half teaspoon of cumin
07:43then we need some uh
07:55thyme about a half teaspoon of thyme that more or less is a half teaspoon would you say
08:01what did you say that can't forget the lemon pepper
08:09can't forget lemon pepper no we can't
08:15then we got to put in some oregano half a teaspoon of oregano
08:19all right now we got to mix these together
08:33and create our dry
08:34three uh
08:39the onion blossom

08:47all the spices are mixed in nicely
08:53did i put in the cayenne pepper yes it did
08:55all right there we go we got a nice little dry mixture ready
09:07okay we got the water boiling so let's put our potatoes into the boiling water
09:13and we're going to only just drop them in for about five minutes
09:17just to get them blanched up all right the next step is we have to get a little bit of egg wash so let's get this egg wash ready
09:31that's one eggy-waggy
09:36our easy egg cracker seems to be uh faltering
09:42and two eggy-waggies

09:46here we go that one good job
09:51okay
09:59we're going to pour in about a cup of milk
10:06get a cup of milk
10:07so we're going to put in a cup and a half
10:17so i also want some water but i'm going to put more milk
10:22let's mix this together and create our little egg wash
10:26blah blah blah blah blah blah do it together what's the weather

10:42let's put this to the side
10:46to boil we gotta take the potatoes off and drain them
10:50here we go
11:00now what we can do is to a little bit of spice on them
11:03for a little bit of uh
11:06paprika on these potatoes
11:11toss a little accent on them as well
11:13small little salt
11:21and then bring right to the beef tallow
11:32could toss them a little bit better
11:33let this heat up and let's spread that onion
11:39all right we got the onion in the bowl we got to spread it out hopefully uh it's breaking apart
11:43a little bit it's not going to be spread out as perfectly as they do but you know i don't know
11:47how it's the first time i'm ever trying to make this so excuse the mess
11:51we're going to take our batter and throw it all over
12:06and soak that onion into here perfectly

12:14all right all right let's batter up this onion batter up
12:30let it all get around that onion this looks like a giant mess

12:41let's see if we take the onion and also
12:48put it in here
12:51and then flip it back in here to batter it up some more
13:00let's spoon this oil this onion around in this batter
13:05that should be able to get the batter right

13:14and it just got sideways on me
13:16now let's see how these potatoes are looking
13:22got a nice little coloring to them oh it's getting there it's getting there
13:26all right these fries are starting to look good i noticed that the uh tallow has kind of like a
13:34brownish color yeah there it is this looks pretty good yeah i think you could just about take this off
13:42all right so let's get these potatoes off and get them into a bowl
13:47get the little paper towel to drain some of the excess oil slash tallow
13:59tallow tallow tallow tallow cooking now with beef tallow
14:08time to start getting the steak ready
14:12and the onion blooming onion in the tallow we will cook
14:19all right let's spoon a little bit this oil here
14:23actually we'll pour some of the oil into our steak pan
14:27so we'll even cook the steak with some tallow

14:33tallow yep there it is that should be enough for the steak
14:37mid-beef tallow that we're using cook the steak and blooming onion with potatoes yep
14:47so let's get this pan nice and hot here's our potatoes we'll pour some salt onto these potatoes
