00:00Sometimes we get in a big argument over something really dumb like soup.
00:04We had a fan make us these shirts and I'm always just wanting to throw it all in there.
00:10Yeah, I just like lifting the hips.
00:30Hey, this is Sunroom.
00:41We are on our Jackknife tour right now.
00:44It's October 18, 2025 in Chicago.
00:50Ashton, Luke, Max, we're showing you our home for this tour.
00:58I'd say our tour manager, Tyler, does the most driving, but we definitely try to switch
01:04off and try to all drive like a good amount.
01:08Keep it not too brutal.
01:10Yeah.
01:11We've always got a co-pilot, especially if we're driving after the show and we try not
01:18to fall asleep if it's late.
01:19We try our best.
01:20Yeah.
01:21I think on the first leg of tour, I fell asleep in the front after a show.
01:25It is the most comfortable chair, so it's a dangerous game.
01:28And there's been a couple of times where we've had to drive through the entire night,
01:31and one time in New York City, we got there after an entire night drive.
01:37Where were we coming from?
01:40Nashville.
01:41Nashville.
01:42We got there, and the apartment was locked when we got there, and so we arrived at 5 AM,
01:50and I think we made it into the apartment at 8 AM.
01:52We watched the sunrise in the lower east side.
01:54Yeah, after driving through the night, so it's always a good time.
01:57Luxury for us in the sunroom.
01:59I feel like…
02:00Spotify jam?
02:01Yeah, we try to do Spotify jams because it's a lot of driving, so you kind of run out
02:07of music.
02:08So once you're a couple of days in, nobody wants to play music anymore.
02:12You've got to pull together musicals.
02:13Because you've played through all your music.
02:16We…
02:17We…
02:18We…
02:19Sometimes…
02:20We have, like…
02:21Actually, I'm not going to talk about…
02:23The…
02:24We play lots of, like, Would You Rathers.
02:26Oh, yeah.
02:27Yeah.
02:28Many hours of Would You Rather.
02:30We've played some games.
02:31Like, we'll play, like, the alphabet game.
02:34Like, you name…
02:35You start at A, find something with A.
02:38We played a game…
02:39I don't know.
02:40Just football games.
02:41It's kind of like a family road trip all over again when you play those games when you're,
02:45like, seven years old.
02:47And we're doing the exact same thing.
02:49Yeah.
02:50Except it's six men.
02:52Or boys, I should say.
02:54Five boys, one man.
02:55Yeah.
02:56Five boys, one man.
02:57Our tour manager over there.
02:58Yeah.
03:02Answering emails.
03:03Doing stuff.
03:04I think we…
03:05I think we do a good job at, like, staying active in the van, though.
03:08Yeah.
03:09Nobody's really putting on headphones.
03:10The conversation is flowing.
03:12It's philosophical, even, at times.
03:14Yeah.
03:15Yeah.
03:16Sometimes we get in a big argument over something really, uh, dumb, like soup.
03:20Soup.
03:21Oh, yeah.
03:22That was a big point of contention on the last tour between me and Max.
03:24Yeah.
03:25Pro-soup, anti-soup.
03:26Things got tense.
03:27Not anti-soup, just indifferent.
03:28Here we go again.
03:29Yeah.
03:30Okay, I got a fresh stick of deodorant.
03:32Right there.
03:33Tour essential.
03:34That's important hygiene.
03:35This is important on tour.
03:37Deodorant.
03:38Sweaty jobs.
03:39Yeah.
03:40A sweaty endeavor.
03:41Oh, yeah.
03:42Um…
03:43We rent this van, and every…
03:45This company names everyone in their vans.
03:47This one's named…
03:48Oh.
03:49Alinea.
03:50Alinea?
03:51Alinea.
03:52Alinea.
03:53Yeah.
03:54We've had good luck with Alinea so far, uh, but we've had two break-ins before,
04:04one in Columbus, Ohio, one in Barcelona, Spain.
04:09In Barcelona, um, I was the only one with stuff in the van, and it was the end of our European
04:16tour, and we were going to South America, and all my clothes got stolen, so I did a month
04:21to South America after that, with two t-shirts and one pair of pants.
04:24And they were dyed pink.
04:25And they were dyed pink, because I threw them in a load with Max's red t-shirt.
04:30Um, so normally, we've got two in the front, right, driver, uh, co-captain, and then we
04:36normally do two here, and two there.
04:40Sometimes, someone would normally go in the back, but, uh, we got, uh, sent a huge backstock
04:49of merch, so this is now our merch closet.
04:51Before, it was our photographer's office.
04:54It's nice and safe in there.
04:56Yeah.
04:57I feel like we're always vying for this spot.
04:58Yeah.
04:59That's a top container.
05:00That's the, that's the number one spot in the van right there.
05:02Good view, comfortable.
05:03Charger, uh,
05:05You can lean on the window.
05:06Lean on the window.
05:07Involved in the conversation.
05:08Involved in conversation is a huge plus for that seat.
05:11Some, you don't want to get stranded in the back when, uh, the conversation's flowing.
05:16Especially when music's playing, because you can't hear.
05:18The one thing that's nice about these vans is that you can stand in them.
05:21Um, but a bad thing is that they only have really functional cup holders in the front.
05:28There's like...
05:29Oh, yeah.
05:30There's these, but they always break.
05:32Yeah.
05:33I heard they break.
05:34I don't think we've broken any.
05:35I built a cup holder back here, though.
05:37With, um, cans.
05:38Oh, yeah.
05:39Show them your cup holder.
05:40It works.
05:41You built a can cup holder?
05:43This, um, box of beers and cold brews.
05:46Uh, I situated them so that I can fit a cup right there.
05:51Ingenuity.
05:52And that's our beer and coffee, I guess.
05:55Yeah, beer and coffee.
05:57Two, uh, important, uh, aspects of the tour.
06:00Morning and night.
06:01There's more beer.
06:02This is, this is...
06:03Rider.
06:04Rider, yeah.
06:05So, most bands get a hospitality rider where you kind of pick a couple things.
06:11Um.
06:12A lot of people get healthy snacks.
06:13Yeah.
06:14Like vegetables and kombucha and whatnot.
06:16We just get beer and water.
06:19Chips.
06:20Sometimes.
06:21No, no chips.
06:22There's no chips on the rider.
06:23We used to get chips and salsa, but this run is just beer and water.
06:25Yeah.
06:26So...
06:27Humble.
06:28Yeah.
06:29That's what we're working with.
06:30We found this soccer ball.
06:32I think Ashton spotted it in, uh, our first night of tour.
06:36We spent the night in the middle of nowhere, Wisconsin.
06:39We found this soccer ball.
06:41And actually, last night we played in Minneapolis and we were all just juggling the ball in this
06:46park.
06:47And these four guys come up to us and ask if they could play with us.
06:51And they're like, really good.
06:53And we're asking if they play in college or something.
06:58And they said, no, actually we play for the professional team here in Minnesota.
07:04They play for Minnesota FC, which I guess is a really good soccer team this year.
07:08They're in the playoffs.
07:10They're playing the LA Galaxy tonight in the playoffs.
07:13And they played soccer with us for an hour.
07:15And, uh, they came to the show too.
07:18Safe to say they were better at juggling.
07:20Yeah.
07:21Yeah, they were good.
07:22Um, so yeah, soccer ball.
07:23We got a hacky sack somewhere.
07:25It's in the spring bag.
07:27Oh yeah.
07:30Hacky sack.
07:31Max loves to get hacky.
07:33Yeah.
07:34I've been into the soccer ball now.
07:35Yeah.
07:36Uh, I have drinks.
07:39Picks.
07:40Picks.
07:41I always see clothes in the van.
07:43And Tyler.
07:44Put it on.
07:45Doesn't like it.
07:46Cause this is how he looks.
07:48I like to leave my clothes that get wrinkled.
07:49This is how.
07:50I leave my clothes that get wrinkled in my suitcase in the van when RTM hates it.
07:54Right?
07:55Yes.
07:56So.
07:57Yeah.
07:58Uh.
07:59We had a fan.
08:02Make us these shirts.
08:04Crochet some awesome stuff.
08:07In Minneapolis.
08:08It's a cold beer.
08:09Very warm.
08:10Max is wearing it as a blanket this morning.
08:12True.
08:13Yeah.
08:14When we woke up and it was cold.
08:15And this same fan has made us stuff like this every time we go to Minnesota.
08:20So.
08:21Pretty awesome.
08:22Yeah.
08:23Pretty cool.
08:24This is the back.
08:25The van.
08:26Uh.
08:27This is where we put all our stuff.
08:28It's tall.
08:29And it's empty right now.
08:31But.
08:32Uh.
08:33I think a lot of bands could agree that when you pack your stuff it becomes like Tetris.
08:38And.
08:39You try to do the same pack every night.
08:41But some people are more passionate.
08:43Yeah.
08:44Than others.
08:45Some people.
08:46I like.
08:47I get into the pack.
08:48Our tour manager does.
08:49Just get really specific about where everything in the van goes.
08:52It has to be flipped this way.
08:54Perfect.
08:55I'm always just wanting to throw it all in there.
08:58Yeah.
08:59Yeah.
09:00I just like lifting the amps.
09:01Yeah.
09:02Ashton will lift any amp like it's a lunch box.
09:05That's my favorite part.
09:06He does the packing.
09:07It's a good system.
09:08Yeah.
09:09But yeah.
09:10The time we got robbed in Barcelona.
09:11They didn't.
09:12No.
09:13There's a little barrier right here.
09:14So you can't see the back.
09:15They broke in and stole all my clothes.
09:17But they didn't see that all of our instruments were back there.
09:20So we were saved.
09:22Yeah.
09:23That was nice.
09:24But yeah.
09:25The caboose.
09:26Max's favorite part.
09:27Yeah.
09:28Yeah.
09:29Thank you again.
09:30We're Sunroom.
09:31We just put out a new EP.
09:34Woohoo!
09:35It's called Ritual of Chaos.
09:36On Spotify.
09:37You can find us on Instagram.
09:39Sunroom Band.
09:40Our website has all our tour dates.
09:43Our website is sunroomtheband.com.
09:48I think that about covers it.
