00:00You guys smashing back here? Oh geez. Hold on get decent. I sit down, I aim down, and we stay down.
00:07That's my liquid drawer. Room temperature liquid drawer. My liquids go in there.
00:30Come on in to the 502s tour bus. Let's go. My name's Ed. I'm the lead singer and banjo player for the 502s.
00:51We just dropped our new album, Easy Street, and are at the start of a, geez, I don't know, eight, nine week run across America, East Coast, West Coast,
00:59everywhere in between. So we want to give you a quick little tour of our tour bus.
01:03It's at the early stages, so before it gets too messy. So up here we got the driver's corners.
01:08He's got this nice little butt pad. That's actually pretty nice, like a little massage. I have to sit up there.
01:14You probably get mad at me. This is honestly the highlight. He's got pictures of his little puppies, which are really cute.
01:19And yeah, I don't spend too much time up here. Our tour manager, Nolan, loves to come sit up here and talk to the bus drivers,
01:26probably to keep him awake throughout the night, but that's the driver's quarters for the most part.
01:30So let's go into the main section here. We got Nick, bass player. Tell them a fun fact about Nick.
01:38A fun fact about Nick? Well, right now I am troubleshooting. I'm a cable guy, so I'm trying to get some Superman happening.
01:47I can't. Addington? Oh, see, this is what I deal with on the bus right here.
01:51That's your favorite channel? It's all glory, but this is my favorite channel.
01:55That's my favorite channel right there. That's how weird I am. Nick? Nice to meet you.
01:59Sean? What do you got going on, Sean? Sean's a tea man, right?
02:02I'm a tea guy. I just had some tea in here that I had in here, and I'm steep in here so that the tea comes out, believe it or not, in here.
02:09And then I sip on some tea just to calm the nerves, get a little caffeine going, and, yeah, getting excited for the show that we're about to play.
02:19All right. Eight, nine weeks, you said? It sounds right to me. We're excited.
02:23All right. This is Kananiah. He plays piano for us. He likes drawing, I guess.
02:28That's good. This is a thing Sean let me use. It's like a little, it's a reverse coloring book.
02:35So instead of like having the lines drawn in and then you work on the colors, the colors are already there and you working on the lines.
02:43So it's, it's Sean's version of therapy and he's letting me try it for free.
02:47Therapy is, therapy is also in get my head out of my phone and into like a real paper kind of thing, so.
02:53You should charge him for it. Um, five dollars a session.
02:57No, five dollars a page would be fair. Oh, okay. You know what's fair.
02:59Five dollars and two cents.
03:01I don't get it.
03:03Let me get this. They'll love this. They'll love this.
03:07So the very first show, a fan of ours brought this out.
03:10They made this, uh, 502's Taylor Swift era's version of all the worst photos they could find of me.
03:17So that's at a merch shoot. I don't know where that one's from.
03:21That's obviously a bad photo. That's a .5 wearing Gracie's glasses.
03:25I had my, like an internal nose surgery. That's after that.
03:28So we did a bit where we all straightened our hair one time. So we took it.
03:32If you bring us really, really embarrassing stuff of us, we'll hang it up in the bus at some point.
03:36For any band member, we'll put it up. Um, that's a good guy.
03:40What the heck's that guy's name? Tiny Basin.
03:42Tiny Basin. I call him Mr. Bones. Mr. Bones. Mr. Bones.
03:45We can ask Gracie about that. She got that last tour. Nobody knew he was on the bus except for her.
03:50And, uh, one of our techs, Katie, got the little duck that was up there recently.
03:54So big knick knack group.
03:56We've got a slide out on the bus. It's not slid out right now.
03:59But the nice thing about it is this little tiny space here probably doubles or a little bit more than doubles,
04:04which is nice because then, uh, anybody with long legs, you kind of get all this space.
04:08You can kick your legs out. You can sit like that. You actually can't reach the other side.
04:12It just adds a lot of space. I don't know. Sean can do push-ups up here if he wants to.
04:16A dad or a flanks or, you know, any sort of inside workout.
04:20But for reference, the, um, this wall over here just goes to about here.
04:25So I don't know if that's like, what, a two feet, two feet-ish of space that gets expanded.
04:31I feel like people watching are like, what's the big deal with a slide out?
04:35But it actually makes a huge difference. Like when you're, after the show, you get on the bus, you start driving.
04:40I feel like we're always kind of sitting up here and relatively close knee to knee.
04:45You don't have too much space to kick your feet out or anything.
04:47Or if someone's like trying to go up here to, you know, just falls or whatever.
04:51It's notorious for that.
04:53But yeah, the slide out, like, it's really comfortable when you're stationary.
04:56It makes it feel more like a living room in a place where I feel like we can actually hang out and, uh, yeah, not bump knees with each other.
05:03Give each other trolley horses, but I don't think there's anything revolutionary in these drawers.
05:08We got our ice box. Look at that.
05:10I wish I had that at my house.
05:11It's a party.
05:12We've got a bunch of bottles of water and one white claw.
05:15I think that pretty much tells you, you want to drink that?
05:18No, I'm okay.
05:19I think that pretty much tells you what kind of band we are.
05:21We're not super big partiers.
05:22Is there anything in these drawers? Um, just personal stuff.
05:25We're trying to throw them.
05:27We're trying to keep things.
05:28That's Shawn's shoes right there.
05:29Old shoes, some slides.
05:31Those are his day-to-day shoes.
05:32What else we got?
05:33Rapid fire food drawers.
05:34I think the low U is a Joe drawer.
05:36Oh boy.
05:37I think it's not even opened.
05:38Those are some shoes too.
05:39I don't know what's in here.
05:40That is a Joe drawer.
05:41That's a mess.
05:42That's a Joe drawer.
05:44This is Joe drawer.
05:45I want to go through it, but he'd probably get mad at us.
05:48Nothing, I'll take that drawer later on.
05:53So, these drawers are pretty much just for us to put in our extra stuff.
05:57Extra personal items, easy things.
05:59I got a drawer in the back.
06:00But, I will move to the kitchen.
06:02It's a very nice live-in unit.
06:04Is there anything in this drawer?
06:05Um, we got some food, stuff already.
06:07Nothing really, honestly.
06:08We're just at the start of the tour, so like I feel like it's not too messy yet.
06:12But we got our plates, we got our protein bars, our hydration packets.
06:16You gotta stay hydrated.
06:17Got our bagels.
06:18What's down here?
06:19Yeah, just random bread, I guess?
06:21I don't know who's using that.
06:22We got a toaster.
06:23That's nice.
06:24Four toasters.
06:25We got, uh, Doritos.
06:28Big Dorito band.
06:29I think we would all agree this is the best flavor.
06:31Sweet, what is it?
06:32Spicy, sweet chili.
06:33I just call them the purple Doritos.
06:35Literally a mix between red and blue.
06:37So, the best of both worlds.
06:39We've got our bottle of Jack Daniels.
06:41Watch that now.
06:42That's how much we all drank on the first night.
06:44It was one fourth of one fourth of Jack Daniels.
06:46So again, not big partying band, but we do like to supply it for videos so we look cool.
06:51I honestly think we have more hydration and vitamin C packets than we do alcohol on this bus.
06:58I think that says a lot about us.
07:00Let's see what else.
07:01I actually haven't gone through any of this.
07:03Paper towels.
07:04I feel like the fridge is going to be the best thing.
07:07This is actually kind of cool.
07:09A little latch so the fridge doesn't open up.
07:12Trash can.
07:15What do we got in here?
07:16We've got...
07:17The cleanest it will ever look.
07:18The cleanest it will look.
07:19We've got some green juices.
07:20Here's some more White Claw.
07:21Okay, so what we've done last year when we did the tour on the bus, we found that we'd get a lot of takeout and it would sit in the bus for way too long.
07:30And this year we've decided you've got to put your name and you've got to put the date that you got it.
07:34And I think after two days, if it's still in there, we can just throw it out.
07:38Anybody can throw it out.
07:39So, that's the bus driver, Dave.
07:41He's got his orange juice.
07:42We won't throw his stuff out.
07:43All the drinks are good.
07:45These are some eggs that Joe and I got for breakfast at some point in time.
07:49A couple of the girls got their...
07:51I don't know if that is.
07:52A salad or something.
07:54And a sandwich.
07:55So, Alyssa, Mindy.
07:56Yeah, we just like try to haul more Joe.
08:00We kind of just try to...
08:02This is a pretty clean group, but for the most part we named stuff so that it doesn't...
08:06Oh boy, that's stuck on camera.
08:08Here we go.
08:09I don't know.
08:10We got ourselves a fruit tray.
08:11I can't even get that out, so I'll never be eating that.
08:13Okay, so the rider...
08:14Most of this stuff comes off of our rider, which a rider is.
08:17You show up to a venue, you're traveling, and the venue will provide you with certain things.
08:22So, our rider is like a fruit platter, a veggie platter, hydration packets, some cold cuts, some protein shakes, some green juices.
08:31There is a bottle of Jack Daniels on there.
08:33Some White Claws.
08:34Some protein bars.
08:35The bagels.
08:36Most of the stuff, honestly, that you've seen so far food-wise, that's what's on our rider.
08:40But, most of the time I feel like the breads make it onto the bus.
08:44The fruit and the veggie tray make it onto the bus.
08:46We eat the protein bars a lot.
08:48We drink the protein shakes.
08:50We drink the water.
08:51I don't know.
08:52I feel like that's the gist of it.
08:54We eat the chocolate.
08:55We definitely do eat the chocolate that's on there.
08:57And, yeah.
08:59That's pretty much what the fridge looks like.
09:01I don't think there's anything in the freezer, honestly.
09:03There's not a single thing in the freezer.
09:06Here's the bathroom tour.
09:07Oh, this is kind of cool.
09:08So, when you live on a bus, everything operates with these push buttons.
09:12It's all electric.
09:13There's no door handles anywhere, as you can see.
09:15So, you've got to push this.
09:17If it's green, that means it's opening.
09:19And then you can step right into our luxurious bathroom.
09:23It's beautiful.
09:24It's not incredibly spacious.
09:25Nick and I probably have a hard time in here.
09:27But, here, I'll step in.
09:29You can see the size of it.
09:31It's not super large, but it works.
09:34Definitely, like, in the middle of the night when you're peeing.
09:37You've got to kind of brace back and hold yourself like that.
09:39Actually, I'm curious, too.
09:41Because the bus moves, so it's kind of hard to pee.
09:43Sean, come here real quick.
09:45Oh, boy.
09:46What's your...
09:47This may not even make the video.
09:49How do you pee in the middle of the night if you get up?
09:51If I get up in the middle of the night...
09:52With the bus shaking.
09:53...and we're driving, and the bus is shaking,
09:55we have to do the most logical, sensible thing.
09:58I'm going to pretend this is up.
10:01I go in, and I sit down, and I aim down, and we stay down.
10:06And it all stays in one spot.
10:08It's all sanitary.
10:10And we get up, and then we flush with pressing this right here.
10:16I'll actually show this to you now.
10:18It's just this.
10:19But when you press it, it goes down.
10:20And then there's some water that goes and flushes away any sort of unnecessary things we need in our life.
10:26Number one rule on the bus is no number two.
10:30We only pee.
10:31Only pee goes down here and is handled...
10:34Hey, look at this.
10:35There's a little no solid waste sign.
10:37No solid waste.
10:38They take that very seriously.
10:39Yeah, that is...
10:40We're a fun band, but on a very serious note, do not you number two on a bus.
10:45Nick, I want to see...
10:46I'm just curious now.
10:47And if we use it, we use it.
10:48If we don't.
10:49Yeah, I'm not sitting on the toilet.
10:50What's your question?
10:51Because I brace myself like this.
10:53So, I brace myself right up against here.
10:57Just give myself a light.
10:59And as Sean, you aim down.
11:02But you've got to make sure, you know, just stationary because the bus is doing this.
11:05I mean, you're crazy to miss it.
11:07Even if you're completely wasted, which we're not.
11:09You're going to make it in there.
11:10There's no way.
11:11I've got plenty of room here.
11:12So, you know, you just do your business.
11:14And then, you know, put your stuff away.
11:17And then, you know...
11:18Alright, so we've got two standing, one sitting.
11:20Yeah, I'm not sitting one, though.
11:21There you go.
11:22I didn't think the video was going to go there, but...
11:23So, then you close the bathroom door.
11:25And then, right next to it is the door to this mirror.
11:29It seems like a mirror, but really, it leads to the bunk alleys.
11:32Push it open.
11:34A couple times, this has been broken.
11:36So, we've had to, like, force it open.
11:37But that's the bunk alley if you want to get a shot of this.
11:41So, this is the bunk alley.
11:42We all sleep in here.
11:43There are 10 people on the crew slash band and 12 bunks.
11:47So, we've got two junk bunks.
11:48This one and that one down there.
11:50Real quick, a junk bunk is literally what it sounds like.
11:53It is a bunk with everybody's stuff in it.
11:56Bags, wardrobe, blankets, stuff that you don't have a place for underneath
12:02or that you want to keep kind of safe or accessible.
12:04You just throw it in the junk bunk and you can claim it when you want to.
12:08Pull your bag down, get your toothpaste out, and brush your teeth.
12:11So, that's what junk bunks are.
12:13Otherwise, obviously, you can see we got top, middle, and bottom bunks.
12:17Last year, when we toured, we all kind of experimented a little bit with what bunks we liked.
12:21And we eventually ended up figuring out what we prefer.
12:24So, this was a nice look at a middle bunk.
12:26It's not mine.
12:27This is Joe, our sax player's bunk.
12:29You can see how nice he has it laid out.
12:32We are a very prima donna band only when it comes to bedding.
12:36I think in most things, we're very easy going.
12:39But you can, I don't know if you can even tell, but on here, this is a very thick mattress pad
12:44on top of a second mattress pad that Joe has.
12:46So, he stacked it up.
12:48I put a mattress pad on.
12:49At least half of us have put mattress pads onto our stuff so that we're comfortable when we sleep.
12:54We bring our pillows in.
12:55I think when I was loading my stuff onto the bus, I had one suitcase and five bags of bedding.
13:00So, that's good.
13:01My bunk's down here on the bottom.
13:03I really like the bottom bunk because...
13:05Let me see if I pull it this way.
13:07Yeah.
13:08I like the bottom bunk.
13:10There's a bottle of water.
13:11Ah, there's no problem.
13:13Because, I don't know, there's something about being close to the ground.
13:16It feels like I don't move as much and also that, yeah, I just feel like the roar of the road
13:22and it kind of like lulls me to sleep.
13:24But, as you can kind of see down here, pretty nice.
13:28Lots of bedding.
13:29I got a body pillow here and another body pillow over here.
13:32I put nice thick mattress pads on it.
13:34Ah, for me, my number one priority is air circulation.
13:37So, I've mounted a fan here.
13:39It's kind of falling off actually already.
13:40Probably need new tape.
13:41But, I've mounted a fan here and plugged it in.
13:44So, I just, when I go to sleep, I turn that on.
13:46Blows directly at my face.
13:48And, ah, keeps me cool.
13:50That's nice.
13:51I got my little phone charger up here.
13:53I keep my sleep mask and my ear plugs in here.
13:57I love it.
13:58I don't really like light or noise when I'm sleeping.
14:00So, that.
14:01And then I got like a little, like a safe travels medal that my mom gave me that I keep up there,
14:06take next to my bunk.
14:08Actually, also, my wife's here.
14:11So, she's sleeping in this bunk tonight.
14:13There's not enough room for two people.
14:15But, she gave me this one.
14:16I left two from our dog.
14:17So, I keep that in my bunk.
14:19Ah, his little toy as well.
14:21So, that's kind of the bunk deal.
14:23Um, Gracie's got a nice bunk too.
14:25Yeah.
14:26See, we're showing off the good bunks.
14:30She really goes above and beyond with her bunk in a good way.
14:33She's got hangs, you know, she's got her switch, her headphones, all that kind of stuff.
14:39So, she's got her pillow sheet right there, a bottle of water.
14:42So, bunks can be what you want them to be.
14:44Nick's got a pretty chill bunk up here.
14:46He's up top.
14:47Just a classic man right there.
14:49Got his pillow.
14:51Got his blanket.
14:52And that's what he's doing with it.
14:53So, everybody kind of figured out their bunks.
14:55And we've all done a good job of respecting everybody's bunk preferences.
14:59And, yeah, it's pretty fun.
15:01It is honestly pretty fun to get in and out of bunks.
15:03It feels like a little coffin in a lot of ways.
15:04So, last but not least, we'll take you into our smash room,
15:08which is exactly what it sounds like.
15:10There's a lot of smashing going on back here.
15:12Let's open it up.
15:14You guys smashing back here?
15:16Oh, geez.
15:17Hold on, get decent.
15:21Okay, they're decent.
15:22Come into the smash room.
15:23Here you go.
15:24Come into the smash room.
15:25You gotta get decent and get smashed.
15:27Oh, there it is.
15:28Get smashed!
15:30Dang, right when the camera came on.
15:32Did I win?
15:33No, I won't.
15:34It says Ed won.
15:35Okay, all right.
15:36Well, we did it in your honor, I guess.
15:37This is Gracie.
15:38That's Joe.
15:39Hey.
15:40This is the back lounge.
15:41The Smash Lounge.
15:42The Smash Lounge.
15:43Yeah, we were talking about Jersey Shore.
15:44We were like, the Smash Lounge or like the squish room or whatever that thing was.
15:47Oh, I don't know.
15:48Oh, the squish room?
15:49What was that?
15:50Smush, yeah.
15:51That's what Nick said.
15:52It was a smush room.
15:53Sure, yeah.
15:54This is the back lounge.
15:55Super chill.
15:56I took a nap in here earlier.
15:57Very comfortable seats.
15:58Right now, we've been playing Super Smash Brothers.
16:00And I honestly haven't played in like years.
16:02So I'm just kind of exploring the characters.
16:04And I'm liking Ridley.
16:05He's kind of a big guy.
16:06Reminds me of Donkey Kong or like Bowser.
16:09That's Ed over there who's Donkey Kong.
16:11But yeah, that's what we're doing back here.
16:13Yeah, I'm a big Kirby gal.
16:16So I've been playing Kirby in Smash.
16:19But we also, I think there are like five Nintendo Switches on this bus.
16:23So everybody kind of has their own flavor.
16:25I'm a big Animal Crossing gal.
16:27So I play a lot of Animal Crossing.
16:29And we were playing this game called Hole IO for a while.
16:32Where you're a hole and you go around and you try to swallow stuff.
16:36And that's really fun.
16:38So this is like, this is the, what do they call it?
16:41This is the war room.
16:42We're either, we're either doing conferences back here or we're, you know.
16:47Eating stuff with holes.
16:48Eating stuff with holes.
16:49Or we're playing games.
16:50We've actually got our conference room up there.
16:52This is for our social media posting to make sure that we're posting enough.
16:55Yeah.
16:56So welcome to the war room.
16:58That's the highlight of the whole bus.
17:00It's my water and protein shake drawer.
17:03And sometimes there's Jack Daniels on there also.
17:05When we start to load up on the Jack Daniels, that's my liquid drawer.
17:08Room temperature liquid drawer.
17:09All of Ed's liquid.
17:10My liquids go in there.
17:12Yeah.
17:13We talked about how, how we, she'll laugh at this.
17:16We talked about how do you pee in the middle of the night when you get up to go to the bathroom.
17:19Oh, very carefully.
17:20So you sit.
17:21Nick and I stand in brace.
17:22No, no.
17:23I'll tell you what.
17:24Sitting's a great idea because I have stepped in pee more than one time on this bus.
17:27And I'll tell you what.
17:28It's not mine.
17:29And it wasn't mine.
17:30And it's dark in there.
17:31And sometimes the door doesn't lock all the way.
17:32So you got to hold onto it while you go.
17:34I'm just saying.
17:35Yeah, the door doesn't lock.
17:36And sometimes if you're driving and someone knocks, you either don't hear the knock or they
17:39don't hear your answer.
17:40So you have to be real quick to hold the door close.
17:43You know what you can do?
17:44If the door is shut, I pretty much use my arm like a piece of plywood and like brace it
17:49shut like that.
17:50So if they try to slide it open, it hits my elbow.
17:52Yeah.
17:53I usually turn the other directions.
17:55Yeah.
17:56Right on.
17:57Yeah.
17:58That's the liquid drawer.
17:59So if you ever come on our bus and need to put a liquid in there, you just throw it
18:02in, make sure it doesn't leak.
18:03But otherwise it's good.
18:04Sweet.
18:05Well, thanks for coming on our bus, getting a quick tour of it.
18:07As you can tell, we're starting to fill it out for the tour.
18:09And yeah, the next eight weeks we'll be on tour.
18:12And our new album, Easy Street is out now.
18:14Spotify, Apple Music, whatever you want.
18:16You can go listen to it.
18:17Literally every social media, we're just at the 502.
18:20So we'd love if you check it out.
18:21And yeah, we got to go get ready for the show and see you soon.
18:42We got one more little guy friends with Tiny Mason in that duck up here.
18:43We got one more little guy friends with Tiny Mason in that duck up here.
18:47This is my drawer.
18:48We're still trying to find a place for him.
18:49But whoever this man is.
18:50Captain.
18:51Captain.
18:52Captain Seamus.
18:53Seamus.
18:54Seamus McGonohue.
18:55Seamus McGonohue.
18:56There you go.
18:57Captain Seamus McGonohue.
18:58He just told us his name.
19:07We got one more little guy, friends with Tiny Mason in that duck up here.
19:12This is my drawer.
19:13We're still trying to find a place for him.
19:15But whoever this man is.
19:16Captain.
19:17Captain Seamus.
19:18Seamus.
19:19Seamus McGonahoo.
19:20Seamus McGonahoo.
19:21Seamus McGonahoo.
19:22There you go.
19:23Captain Seamus McGonahoo.
19:24He just told us his name.
19:25Seamus McGonahoo.
19:26There you go.
19:27Seamus McGonahoo.
19:28That's him.
19:29That's our little guy.
19:30Well, one of our little guys.
19:31One of them.
19:32He and Tiny Mason are pretty close.
19:33Yeah, they're like us.
19:34Yeah.
