01:07york department of motor vehicles should take lightly bypassing that safeguard is far from a
01:12harmless short a dangerous threat to public safety but that's exactly what prosecutors here in nassau
01:19county allege in a 51 count felony indictment against seven different people including a supervisor at
01:27this dmv in garden city kenasha middleton and her sister jamie middleton allegedly taking at least
01:3410 different permit tests for no show drivers you can see jamie in surveillance pictures wearing
01:40different disguises even fake facial hair as she posed as a man who would be applying for a commercial
01:47driving permit but she forgot to take off her fake nails i think it's pretty pretty poor and the
01:54fingernails kind of gave it away so did another supervisor who acted as the whistleblower prosecutors
02:00say the defendants charged as much as three grand per permit test two of them working these counters
02:06so they could wave the phony test taker through three of the drivers who paid the fee ended up with
02:11commercial permits but only one passed his road test james nurse who ended up working here at the town of
02:19hemstead recycling center where he spent over a year and a half driving a truck a government employee
02:25licensed only through a lie driving a massive truck through our streets it's a very serious thing
02:34yeah it really is dude one of the one of the yeah one of the riskiest things that we do as human
02:39beings and we don't think of it as such just because we're so comfortable is driving on these
