00:00Pass the aux cord and crank up the volume.
00:05Figgy Figg's in the driver's seat.
00:07Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
00:10It's time for Figgy's Mixtape on Sports Radio 610.
00:15Yes, it is the Mixtape in the Luke Sports Radio 610.
00:18It's your man, Figgy Figg, holding it down on a Tuesday.
00:21Happy Tuesday to everyone out there.
00:24So, Lopez, you've been on these airwaves for a long time.
00:27I have.
00:27I don't want to put your date out there, but it was, what, 2000 and...
00:34When I got here?
00:35Yeah, when you got here.
00:36Nine.
00:372009.
00:37So, you've been here since 2009.
00:39I don't know how long you've been here.
00:40I graduated high school that year.
00:42Is that right?
00:42Mm-hmm.
00:42I was there.
00:43I was in East Creeks in 2009.
00:46But, yeah, so you've been on the airwaves for a long time,
00:50and you've been having this take for a long time since I can remember
00:54about pretty much postal services are no longer needed.
00:59Yeah, you don't need...
01:00You don't need...
01:01Yeah, so can you state it so that way I'm not misrepresenting what you're saying?
01:06Okay, there's a couple things.
01:07You don't need mail anymore.
01:09Period.
01:09To throw our beloved mail...
01:13Salute to our postal service workers out there.
01:16Salute to my sister, my brother-in-law.
01:18You're talking about my family.
01:19Yeah, you're talking about my family, man.
01:20I got them taken care of just to hear me out.
01:22It's not...
01:23You know, it's certainly a salute to our dear postal carriers and all that.
01:28What I feel is...
01:28They listen to us right now on Odyssey app.
01:30They like this idea.
01:31You can transition that into something else.
01:33Because everything and anything you can get in the mail, you can get otherwise.
01:38Period.
01:39There is no exception.
01:41Nothing.
01:42All of it you can get other than someone delivering it to your house.
01:46What you can do with the postal offices and carriers is transition that into dispensaries,
01:54you know, across the country.
01:56They just legalize marijuana.
01:57Oh, what are they dispensing?
01:59Okay, literally...
02:00Okay, gotcha.
02:01They still have jobs.
02:02They have very lucrative jobs, maybe more lucrative jobs.
02:05Boom.
02:05Bingo, bango, boingo.
02:06Problem solved.
02:07That actually very much makes sense as a landing point for your thought, because you would
02:10have to be high to come up with it.
02:11No.
02:12What the hell are you talking about?
02:13No.
02:13So you want them to be drug dealers at this point?
02:15No, legal dispensaries.
02:17Drug dealers.
02:18They literally are everywhere right now, anyway.
02:21Dispensaries or the post office?
02:22Dispensaries.
02:22Oh, okay.
02:23So I've lost the plot a few times here.
02:26Or even if you don't want to go down that road and it's a whole other vote and all that,
02:29just transition them into another, you know, viable industry.
02:33I think the premise is wrong, but we've been here before.
02:35You don't need mail.
02:35You don't need mail.
02:36Zero.
02:37You don't need it.
02:38Well, a country decided to roll with this idea.
02:41I don't know about the drug part.
02:43Well, I mean, it is a Scandinavian one, ain't it?
02:46It's up there.
02:47It's up there, one of them European.
02:48How about that?
02:49Denmark.
02:49Yep.
02:50Okay.
02:51They decided to roll with your idea.
02:54Let's go to CNN News with the story.
02:57Denmark's state-run postal service, PostNord, has just delivered its last ever letter,
03:02bringing an end to its 400-year run.
03:04That means Denmark is the first country to decide that physical mail is no longer essential
03:09or economically viable.
03:11Denmark is one of the world's most digital nations,
03:14making it much less reliant on postal services than many other countries.
03:18According to PostNord, letter delivery has declined by more than 90% since 2000.
03:24PostNord told CNN that, quote,
03:26most communication now arrives in our electronic mailboxes,
03:29and the reality today is that e-commerce and the parcel market far outweigh traditional mail.
03:34To mark the change, PostNord released a campaign video
03:37showing Danish actress Ellen Hillingshoe reading its last letter to the public.
03:41Instead of posting letters, Danes will now have to drop them off at kiosks in shops.
03:46Private company DAO will then courier those letters to both domestic and international addresses.
03:52PostNord will still continue to deliver packages as online shopping remains popular.
03:56Brilliant.
03:58Shout out to the Danes.
04:00They are ahead of the curve.
04:01So they're not really stopping delivery.
04:04They're just like, we're not going to carry your letters anymore.
04:06No, no, no, but that's...
04:08Because they're still going to deliver packages, so they're still doing the mail.
04:11No, but I said that.
04:12No, they're not.
04:12You got FedEx, you got Amazon, you got, you know...
04:15So you're just talking about privatization is all you're saying.
04:17No, no.
04:18You don't need mail.
04:20You don't need mail.
04:21You didn't hear the last part of the...
04:22Checks, letters, cards.
04:25Yeah, I guess...
04:26Don't take it from me.
04:27Take it from Denmark.
04:28No, it sounded like what they were saying, though, because people probably letters, stuff
04:33like that.
04:33It's not totally gone, but they make it in a way where if you do need to send something
04:38out, you go to this specific place.
04:41Everything that the...
04:42But they're not delivering mail.
04:43Everything that the Postal Service does, you can do otherwise, and you don't need...
04:47Yeah, so you just want to privatize it.
04:49No, no.
04:50You're twisting it around.
04:52You don't need...
04:52It's a waste.
04:53I'm trying to save our taxpayers' money.
04:55Vote for me.
04:56Hey, I'm siding with the people on this one, man.
05:00Postal Service on this one, man.
05:01People of the United States or Denmark?
05:02We don't never...
05:03Oh, I don't know nothing about Denmark, but...
05:05Those not my people.
05:07Yeah, those ain't my people.
05:08I don't know buddy like that.
05:10You might stand out there.
05:12Wow, wow.
05:13Really?
05:13There's Black Danes in there.
05:14Yeah, 100%.
05:15281, I'm very much with that point.
05:18I've made that point before.
05:19I'm trying not to get in a full-blown argument here.
05:22That's really the issue here, because all the companies that you talk about privately that
05:26do it, they also lean on the post office at other times.
05:29They do not.
05:30They do not.
05:31They do.
05:32Literally, all the companies you listed, Lopez, depend on the post office.
05:34There's a lot of final leg delivery that's done by the U.S. Postal Service.
05:39No, they do not.
05:40He's been saying this for years, man.
05:42Look it up.
05:42Look it up.
05:43I just kind of want to wrap up.
05:44Oh, yes, because I have not looked this up.
05:46Thank you for saying that.
05:48Well, salute to Denmark, man.
05:49I'm wondering what other country is going to eventually follow this, because they're the
05:54first country, clearly.
05:55Hopefully this one.
05:55Yeah, it'll be a very interesting kind of pilot program source.
05:58I'm trying to increase money for our postal carriers and viability for our constituents
06:04and everything else.
06:07Good luck with that.
06:08Yeah.
06:11It's a minute, Saban 6th, and so I've been talking about this Grand Theft Auto 6 game
06:16for a long time.
06:17And you're going to keep talking about it.
06:18I'm going to keep talking about it, man.
06:20Grand Theft Auto 6 is supposed to come out this year, but I'm not holding my breath on
06:25it.
06:25However, I do feel like the city of Houston is kind of Grand Theft Auto 6-ish, or just
06:33Grand Theft Auto, period.
06:34So let's go to ABC 13 with this wild story on a chase.
06:41The sheriff's office says that a man is in custody after ramming into several cars in
06:44a military-style truck, then leading deputies on a long chase.
06:47The chase finally came to an end with a SWAT scene right here on 59, right here near Little
06:53York.
06:53According to the sheriff's office, the chase started around 10 o'clock last night after
06:57they got a call saying a military-style truck had been involved in a hit-and-run.
07:02They say when deputies tried to pull the driver over, he took off and led them on what ended
07:07up being more than an hour-long chase.
07:10Driver, if you can hear me, I need you to exit the vehicle now.
07:16It's estimated right now that the suspect struck about 10 vehicles prior to the initiation
07:23of the pursuit.
07:25So we don't really have a motive or anything at this point.
07:28The Harris County District Attorney's Office has been notified of the incident.
07:31During that chase, deputies say spike strips were used, even shots were fired, but none
07:37of that worked in getting him to stop.
07:39Finally, when the truck had a flat tire, here on 59, SWAT was called in.
07:44Eventually, tear gas was used to get this man out of the truck, and in custody, he was
07:50not caught.
07:50What the hell are you living in right here in Houston?
07:54When did you say this was again?
07:56You said when?
07:57Yeah, when.
07:57I want to say it was this week or last week.
07:59It was recent.
08:00Man, I just missed it.
08:02That's wild.
08:03A military-style truck.
08:05So what was his story?
08:06What was he doing?
08:07I have no...
08:08This is Grand Theft Auto.
08:09He was having a good time.
08:12Yeah, just drive around and go on a high-speed chase.
08:15Was he like in a Hummer or something?
08:16No, it looked like an 18-wheeler-type truck.
08:21Okay, like a box truck?
08:23But just the front end of it.
08:24Yeah.
08:25Yeah, no, you can see the video out there.
08:27It was kind of wild, man.
08:28I'm like, what did you...
08:29First of all, what you doing in this truck?
08:31Yeah, the first thing I thought was, where did he get this from?
08:33This might have been Saturday.
08:34That sounds right.
08:35There were a lot of helicopters.
08:36There were a lot of helicopters over my house on Saturday.
08:39Yeah, no, it was a lot going on.
08:41And where's your house again?
08:42Right over there.
08:438507 Queens Boulevard.
08:46First one of the year.
08:48You know what this reminded me, though?
08:49Because, you know, if you're not familiar with Grand Theft Auto,
08:52they base the...
08:53It's an open-world game.
08:54They base it off of, like, various American cities.
08:57There's kind of a fictionalized version of L.A.,
09:00fictionalized version of New York, fictionalized version of Miami.
09:04Why have they never thought to, like, have one of these based on Houston?
09:07Because Houston will work.
09:08It should be.
09:09It should be.
09:09Because if you haven't played Grand Theft Auto,
09:12you can just pretty much use the title or the name, just steal cars.
09:16You can steal cars.
09:17Some people be in high-speed chases with trucks and helicopters
09:22and all that stuff going on.
09:23That was exactly what happened.
09:25Just a random-ass, big-ass military truck just on a loose.
09:29And they're trying to stop this.
09:30I'll look it up.
09:33You can find it.
09:33Yeah, it's up there.
09:35Saturday about...
09:35Was it about midday?
09:36Was it during the day?
09:37I'm not sure.
09:38I've seen the video.
09:39I sure hope not.
09:40Yes.
09:40Because he was driving around for an hour.
09:42I just know traffic was up.
09:43I'm talking, like, to the point where I stopped what I was doing.
09:45I was refinishing that furniture I told you about.
09:47And I was in the backyard, and I was like, what is that?
09:49It was a couple big...
09:50It was a couple big accidents, I want to say, from, like, Friday to yesterday or Sunday.
09:56Yeah.
09:56I was stuck in traffic going 610, going towards...
10:00I forgot what...
10:02Counting towards NRG.
10:03And I was stuck in that traffic for, like, an hour.
10:05Yeah.
10:06Just on the side path.
10:09And that's the one, I think, a center point vehicle was...
10:13It crashed into an 18-wheeler or something like that.
10:15Right.
10:16Unfortunately, somebody died in that.
10:18But it was a couple big accidents over the weekend, man.
10:20It was crazy.
10:21That's wild.
10:23So, yeah.
10:23Wow.
10:24Wow.
10:24Yeah.
10:24Yeah.
10:25Check that video out whenever y'all get a chance.
10:28As I continue on the mixtape in the loop, Sports Radio 610.
10:32I guess Houston just started off on the wild 2026.
10:37So...
10:37It was a fire at an apartment complex.
10:40I forgot.
10:41This might have been in the Sheldon area, if I'm not mistaken.
10:44And dozens of people were without a home.
10:48And this is thanks to a lady who decided to set her boyfriend clothes on fire.
10:54A woman sets fire to her boyfriend's clothes.
10:57And now dozens of people here at this apartment complex are without a home.
11:01We even saw a firefighter who fell from the second floor because the damage is so bad.
11:06Firefighters tell us they responded earlier today after the woman got into it with her boyfriend.
11:13She then used his clothes, put it in a barbecue pit, and set it on fire.
11:18That fire spread to dozens of units here at the Southlake Villas Apartments here in Sheldon.
11:24We saw several neighbors out here collecting what items they had left and what they could salvage from that fire.
11:30But many of them don't know where they will be going next.
11:33Neighbors tell me Red Cross is assisting.
11:35And apartment management is supposed to be helping them as well.
11:38This case is ongoing.
11:39Just throw it out in the street like a normal person, man.
11:42Yeah, put it in a barbecue pit.
11:43Put it in a barbecue pit.
11:44I was going to say at least she put it in a barbecue pit.
11:46But clearly that didn't matter because it burnt down an apartment.
11:50See, this is a manifestation of a lesson that we all need to learn.
11:54Yeah.
11:55Being petty seems fun.
11:57You need to keep it to limits.
11:59Yeah.
11:59If you're trying to be maximum petty, that can ruin.
12:02Once it started affecting me, then I have an issue with it.
12:04It affected 12 families.
12:06And you're being reasonable about a situation where people are completely unreasonable.
12:11Oh, certainly.
12:12No, you're right.
12:13No, the clearly.
12:14They've lost it.
12:15Clearly.
12:15She was not in a level-headed mind when she was like, you know what?
12:18I'm going to barbecue your Jordans.
12:19You know what I mean?
12:19Like, I feel like that was not level-headed.
12:22There was no reasoning.
12:23There was no reasoning with her at that point.
12:26From the 832, does she have a sister?
12:27I might be married to her.
12:28Uh-oh, man.
12:29All right.
12:30I wonder what the hell he'd do.
12:32Like, at this point, bro, what did you do?
12:33That's a good question.
12:34Because why did you cook?
12:35Like, I'm blaming you for it.
12:36She cooked you.
12:37Well, maybe.
12:38Because there's one of two things.
12:39She might have wildly overreacted, or he might be an absolute menace.
12:43Yeah.
12:43And I think either way, that's one hilarious, even though it's terrible, right?
12:47On the other side is that it's awful that you end up with such a terrible outcome.
12:52Just be out of the street.
12:54Yeah, come on, man.
12:55Hey, just leave him, man.
12:57We got to do all this stuff.
12:58But again, I don't think she was in the state of mind where you could have reasoned with her.
13:02By the way, that audits is courtesy of KPRC, too.
13:05Okay.
13:08It's a mistake in the loop, Sports Radio 610.
13:11Man, I haven't done this segment since last year.
13:15The worst.
13:15I'm not giving you any laughs or claps for that.
13:19Nobody likes that guy.
13:20Yeah.
13:21Yeah.
13:22And honestly, I'm joking around.
13:24I don't like that guy either.
13:25And apparently, the raging Italian do not like that guy.
13:29Oh, no.
13:30Yeah.
13:30He don't like that guy either.
13:32So, his son's, I guess they went out for New Year's Eve, came back 10 in the morning and some stuff like that.
13:40And the father was not happy about it.
13:42And the son hit him with that joke with the, yeah, we haven't seen you since last year.
13:48And he did not appreciate it.
13:49And this is what it sounded like.
13:51You f***ing stayed out all night.
13:52You guys came home this morning around 11 o'clock in the morning.
13:54Okay, and it's New Year's.
13:56I don't give a f*** if it's New Year's.
13:57New Year's, same me.
13:58You're f***ing driving home at f***ing 10 o'clock in the morning.
14:00You're up all night.
14:01Dude, I thought...
14:01Probably with no f***ing sleep.
14:03You're drinking.
14:03Dude, I haven't even seen you since last year.
14:04You already bitching at me?
14:07What do you mean last year?
14:07I saw you f***ing last night.
14:09Yeah, I haven't seen you since last year.
14:11That's a f***ing stupid joke.
14:12Some f***ing's in that s*** seen you since last year.
14:15Ah, I'll see you next year.
14:16You're that f***ing guy.
14:18You guys were f***ing up all night.
14:19You f***ing come home at 11 o'clock in the morning, dude.
14:22I haven't seen you since last year.
14:23Yeah, we haven't seen you since last year.
14:25You know what?
14:25That's a f***ing stupid joke.
14:27It's like, tell him you're at 11.59.
14:29No, but the f***ing jerk game at 11.59.
14:33I'll see you next year.
14:35I know his blood pressure is insane.
14:37I'm with him on that, man.
14:38Or it's not.
14:39I mean, that might be what keeps him sane.
14:43I can't.
14:44There's no way.
14:45They rage bait him so easily.
14:47He doesn't suppress anything.
14:48We gotta hang out with this guy.
14:50Do the Texans play in New York next year somehow?
14:54Oh, the Giants play here.
14:55I just thought the Giants play here.
14:56We gotta just try to get them down here for a game or something.
14:59He bites on every pump fake.
15:01I mean, every play action he's in the backfield.
15:03He bites on it.
15:04I will say, though, he was 100% right.
15:08What y'all mean?
15:08Y'all was out drinking all night.
15:10Came out 10 back at 10 in the morning.
15:11Y'all was driving around drunk and tired?
15:13Are you crazy?
15:14Yeah, no, I'm 100% with him on this one, man.
15:17I hate when people do that.
15:19Yeah.
15:19Yeah.
15:21All right, get y'all out of here on this real quick.
15:24It's the Mid-State Benalude Sports Radio 610.
15:27Salute to Lauren Rutledge.
15:29Yeah, Lauren Rutledge.
15:30Yeah.
15:30Did y'all see that viral video of her?
15:32I think she was working at Ole Miss and was it Ole Miss and Georgia game?
15:36Yeah, I believe because she did the sideline.
15:38She did an interview on the field somewhere and then had to run across the field on the
15:45sideline to sprint and get to the desk where she had to do it.
15:50And she was, like, hauling ass, too.
15:52It's nice to know that everybody's cutting back and making people do multiple jobs.
15:56She was the sideline reporter and the halftime host.
15:59Yeah.
15:59They be making Vanessa Richardson do that on Space City Home Network, too.
16:03I'm like, damn, man, that's crazy.
16:04Yeah, so she was hustling across there and salute to Chris Berman.
16:09He decided to do a little play by play.
16:12Oh, did he?
16:12You've done an interview and you could go all the way to the sidelines, but it doesn't end it.
16:22Oh, my God, we got the band.
16:23Is it the Stanford Cal game?
16:26No, it's not.
16:27There are the tubas.
16:28There are the drums.
16:30And what's it?
16:31What?
16:31What?
16:32And then the xylophone, be careful.
16:36And then we got to get you on the set.
16:37Tim, get out of the way.
16:39Laura, you got the mic.
16:41Have a seat.
16:42And I want to say this, because we're watching NFL Live on a Monday.
16:46I have seen, personally, a lot of great runs in the history of Monday football.
16:52That just took the cake.
16:55Salute to her, man.
16:56It was awesome.
16:57Hustling, yeah.
16:58She was gone, too.
16:59I'm sure she had some heels on, too.
17:01Yes, she did.
17:01Full sprint.
17:02And I think the most impressive thing is, yes, the turf is also part of it.
17:07She sat down and immediately got to work.
17:09Oh, yeah.
17:09It was like, didn't look like she was breathing heavy enough.
17:11Put her hair over her ears and let's go.
17:13And then they had makeup on her, too.
17:14I'm like, I'd be sweating looking like a Christmas pig on TV.
17:18And just how cool that Berman did that.
17:20That's so cool.
17:21And I love gonna work.
17:27Look forward to you all the time.
17:32Yeah.
17:33Bye.
17:34Bye.
17:34Bye.
17:35Bye.
17:35Bye.
17:38Bye.
17:39Bye.
