01:42what a home squatter is it's one of those people that kind of rent a home and refuse to pay rent
01:48and they go through all the different ways to stay in there as long as they can and as a landlord
01:55you can't put them out you got to go through the legal um stuff to just to try to get them out and
02:02before you know it you they've been in there for about 18 months or something crazy yeah nice it is
02:09crazy and i i would like to kind of i guess talk to somebody personally i think if i'm not mistaken

02:20similar like that oh wow so i might have to pick her brain on that but um here's the situation in
02:26washington dc courtesy of abc7 of the home squatter another twist in a bizarre airbnb battle
02:347 news has exclusively told you about a homeowner in northeast dc who says
02:39a squatter has taken over her short-term rental but that alleged squatter claims she's a tenant with
02:45rights i found court records revealing that romero stayed in multiple properties in and around dc
02:51rent free for months while they went through the eviction process court records show at your previous
02:57apartment you're also getting evicted for not paying rent and so that wasn't for that place it
03:02was for a previous place for something happened during covid when everyone was not receiving
03:06payment i'm a entrepreneur and i also have a non-profit court records show shadija romero faced
03:12eviction from two other dc properties before booking roshane douglas's airbnb nearly a year ago
03:19i reviewed the records with real estate attorney rich bianco scrolling down the docket here she knows
03:25what she's doing so this isn't the first rodeo yeah so this is not the first rodeo for her that's why
03:31i'm calling her the professional squatter i think you're right she sounds like a professional she
03:36had all the ducks in a row yeah actually profit no non-profit entrepreneur yeah she know all the
03:41buzzwords and you know somebody know what they're doing when they say well no technically i'm doing
03:45this and doing so she's kind of doing that here's part two to this crazy story court records show that
03:51in october 2021 she had a year lease at the jameson at dakota apartments those owners also filed a suit
03:59against romero it shows she stayed months past the end of her lease and did not pay anything between
04:05may 2022 and january 2023 she also signed a legal agreement to pay the jameson 35 000 in back rent
04:13but she did not follow through with that agreement she was officially evicted eight months after she
04:19stopped paying i did not go to court for eviction for avanoma oh that feels like a technicality yeah i
04:25didn't go to court they handed me a paper yeah i had to sign it but i did not go to court i'm actually
04:31surprised she sat down with a uh a report talk about this maybe it was one of those where they
04:36kind of cornered her you know one of those uh uh watchdog type uh you know reporters or whatever
04:41i i've always been amazed by this how it it is so easy to just con not cop the system you know to
04:50to work the system and still be able to it's your house they're not paying rent that's it as far as
04:57i'm concerned you know that's it yeah yeah i'm very selfish though because my my thought was man i think
05:04that means i'm a good person because i never thought of the idea of just you are i mean those are horrible
05:07people i hope so i just can't look over my shoulder like that man right knowing i owe somebody
05:13that's why i don't really like to borrow money yeah because now i'm like always thinking in the back of

05:29i owe a thousand dollars that's good all right here's the last part to this whole crazy story about
05:35the professionals home squatter five days after she was evicted from the jameson records show she
05:41moved into a venoma she paid one month's rent and owes them nearly fifty thousand dollars
05:47the property tried to evict her multiple times but there was a fire which i come with the fire and
05:53dms started in her unit while she was there ava noma is the one showing that you're in the process
06:00of being evicted for paying one month's rent when you were there for 13 so no that would not be
06:05accurate again court documents show romero filed a motion to delay the eviction this time citing the
06:11fire and saying insurance needed to see the damage in the unit she booked the airbnb
06:16as she was getting evicted from that property i found multiple tenant and landlord cases against
06:22her in and around dc when she went by a different name at the time in addition to that i saw at least
06:28a dozen liens against her as well as a case claiming that she paid for a down payment for a vehicle
06:34and made no other payments after that now since these discoveries romero has said that she is not
06:40speaking to us anymore sure that makes sense that's the most honest answer she's had yeah
06:48well leans against her yeah how is she not in jail hey i wouldn't i wouldn't pick her up and take her
06:56to the bus station she might not get out my damn car yeah yeah i might have to uh go to court just to
07:02get her i mean i know there's these loopholes and there's this legal things you have to go through
07:06but how is she not in jail yeah i don't i i feel like there's a history in the united states of
07:11like debtor's prisons and stuff or maybe not in the united states i guess that date back to england
07:14yeah like debtor's prisons that we don't want to go to but yeah this is this is a very particular
07:18circumstance that i guarantee you i haven't attempted i haven't checked the text line yet but i guarantee
07:23you some people on there like oh yeah i get her out my house yeah there's oh i hadn't even thought
07:27about that everybody's just everybody's just mad that she's doing it which fair um i had not thought
07:32about the people that were like oh no no no you're gonna leave yeah and now now some stuff that
07:37wasn't said in the story because it's a whole big situation where you could probably look it up on
07:42tiktok the whole timeline for it but um people did try to get her out their house at one point
07:49i think a lady cut the lights off but this lady uh shadija ended up putting the lights in their
07:56daughter's name to keep the lights on oh that's a that's an old school and one and one time i guess
08:02they changed the locks and uh as the homeowner went with the police to change the locks and then
08:10shadija came back with the police to get the locks knocked off it's just a whole bunch of back and
08:16forth type stuff so she she know exactly what she's doing oh she and what works what what she can do what

08:26know this is what her this is a career uh i don't know what other money she makes to make these
08:31little down payments and stuff but she's a professional and i'm sitting here thinking

15:42by the name of james webb who ate 72 ounces in seven minutes nah there's no way no it's video out
15:52there is my stomach hurts just hearing it seven in seven minutes and then i did a little digging on
15:57him and he is a professional eater okay good so i've seen a couple other things he was he go around
