00:35Happy Monday to everyone out there.
00:38So I want to give a – probably this next time I'm going to give quite a few shout-outs
00:43just in general.
00:43It was a pretty good weekend in Houston.
00:47Got to give a shout-out to my guy Ed Ingram and his foundation
00:50and everyone who participated in the school supply drive.
00:54I was at Waltrip High School.
00:56Pretty nice high school, by the way.
00:58It's like one of those old school type of high schools where, you know,
01:02it's not the big old fancy ones with the sliding doors in the front.
01:06It's like old school high school, man.
01:09It kind of brought me back to my –
01:10I think it's brick, too, right?
01:11It's an old brick –
01:12I think so, yeah.
01:13Waltra been around for a minute.
01:15Yeah, it brought me back to my high school times because these new high schools, man,
01:19I'm like, man, this look like a college campus.
01:22It was established in 1959.
01:2359, man.
01:25That's crazy.
01:26So, yeah, salute to Ed Ingram.
01:28Salute to everybody that went out there.
01:31Salute to Nico Collins.
01:33So they did the fireside chat after the school drive.
01:37So it was Nico Collins, Tommy Tokiai, Dalton Schultz, and Jake Hanson.
01:42Nice.
01:42So they was on stage just talking about a lot of stuff, just football careers, faith,
01:47and stuff like that.
01:49It was really cool for them to show up.
01:51So I think a lot of fans got a lot of, you know, I guess deep thoughts on what NFL
01:59players
02:00like them go through and stuff like that.
02:02So salute to them.
02:03But I got to give the biggest shout out to our guy, Bill Kerbman.
02:07Okay.
02:08So you're probably wondering, who is this guy?
02:09Yes, I am.
02:11So y'all know I've been promoting this event for the last probably like week or two.
02:17And he heard it on the airwaves.
02:19So he decided to take it a step further.
02:22And so I saw him there.
02:24I went to introduce myself.
02:26And he's like, I know who you are.
02:27You know, I heard you promoting this on an event.
02:30So I decided to get into it.
02:32And he said he spent probably about $1,000 in school supplies.
02:37Wow.
02:38And he got his family involved, his lovely wife, his son.
02:42They were all there bright and early, just helping the community, man.
02:46That's cool.
02:47That's awesome.
02:47Yeah, so it really made me feel good because I try to use this platform responsibly at times
02:53and try to show love to a lot of people.
02:55So I'm glad he heard that during the mixtape and decided to jump on board with this.
03:02Big ups.
03:02Did you make sure you get yourself some wings and some ice cream, Bill?
03:05Because, I mean, that was also part of it.
03:06But I really appreciate you supporting this.
03:08Yeah, no doubt, no doubt.
03:10So salute to him.
03:11Salute to everybody that was involved.
03:13And also salute.
03:14And I got pressured to do this.
03:16Oh, no.
03:18I'm interested.
03:18Shout out to my Nana, which is my wife's grandmother.
03:22Wow.
03:22Today is her birthday.
03:23Oh, happy birthday, Nana.
03:25Yeah, happy birthday, Nana.
03:26I meant to ask how old she was turning.
03:28No, you didn't.
03:30Hey, man, she looked good for her age.
03:31I will say this.
03:32She looked like she could go for about 55, 60.
03:35And I want to say she's in her 80s.
03:37Oh, wow.
03:38Wow.
03:38So she looked good.
03:39Nana's still moving around here.
03:43One quick funny story about Nana.
03:46Don't call her while she's playing Candy Crush.
03:49She will hit ignore many times while she's playing Candy Crush.
03:53So she's all in.
03:54She's all in on that.
03:56Yep.
03:56She's cool.
03:57She liked to gamble a little bit on the slots and all that stuff.
04:02Good for her.
04:02So it was a couple times she freaked us all out because she wasn't answering the phone.
04:06We didn't know what was going on.
04:08And she was just at the casino having a good time.
04:10Out of the way, Nana.
04:11Out of baby, Nana.
04:12Yeah, so salute to Nana.
04:14I would have tried to at least work with Nana like, hey, next time you about to go to the
04:18casino, just let us know ahead of time.
04:19Yeah.
04:19And we won't bother you.
04:20We'll let you live.
04:21We just want to know where you are.
04:22Just shoot us a text saying, hey, I'm good, y'all.
04:24I'm good, y'all.
04:26Don't worry about me because we be worried about our old folks whenever they get a little older
04:30and don't answer.
04:31Oh, for sure.
04:31Yeah, yeah.
04:33But whenever Lopez isn't responding to our text, I'd be like, man, is everything all right?
04:36You're going to get to that age one day.
04:38Is he dead?
04:39Yeah, your kid's going to be blowing you up.
04:40Why you ain't answering?
04:42Just chilling.
04:42He's chilling, man.
04:43Yeah.
04:44I'm playing golf.
04:45Yeah.
04:45All right.
04:46I was like, fishing?
04:47I understand.
04:48He's playing golf.
04:48I'm going to be wondering.
04:49You might be held hostage.
04:50I'm gambling.
04:51Little known fact.
04:52I don't know if this is something to be proud of or not.
04:54I have never played a single game of Candy Crush.
04:57Oh.
04:57Not one.
04:58Really?
04:58Not one.
04:59What is your game of choice on your phone?
05:01Is that all?
05:01I do poker, not for real money, but the video poker.
05:05I do that a lot.
05:06Okay.
05:07Yeah.
05:07All right.
05:07Interesting.
05:08Yeah.
05:09Yeah.
05:09It's the Mixtape presented by Sheriff Injury Lawyers on Sports Radio 610.
05:14Definitely got to shout out this rapper by the name of King Troy, who is out of Las Vegas.
05:19Is he popular?
05:20Yo, he's pretty popular right now.
05:23So, just imagine, you've been to Vegas multiple times, speaking of gambling, and you know you
05:27got a lot of entertainment on the streets.
05:29You got people that's playing instruments.
05:31You got people like King Troy rapping.
05:35Yeah.
05:35He actually got his microphone and speaker and all that stuff.
05:38So, he was doing this thing.
05:39I'm not sure what caused this situation.
05:42I don't know if Troy is out here trolling or just kind of rapping about people that's
05:47ticking people off.
05:48His name is King Troy.
05:49King Troy.
05:50Yes.
05:51So, apparently, a guy didn't take too kindly of him.
05:54Like I said, I don't know what happened.
05:56Oh, I hadn't even thought about the idea he might have been rapping at this dude.
05:59I don't know if he's rapping about him or what or if this was just a jerk.
06:04But this guy came, I guess, walking and running across the street trying to get to him and
06:09apparently fell down and allegedly tore his ACL.
06:13So, now the guy is on the ground holding his knee, can't move.
06:18And here's King Troy decided to start a real time as this guy was laying on the ground
06:25holding his knee.
06:48That's what you're getting, dawg, from running across the street.
06:51His homie was jaywalking.
06:53Now he's on the ground like he up in a damn coffin.
06:57That's so good.
06:58Literal insult to injury.
07:00Yeah.
07:00The guy was sitting there like on the ground.
07:02Holding his knee.
07:03Yes.
07:04And he's sitting there rapping about him.
07:05That is my favorite thing because here's the thing.
07:07You're right.
07:08I didn't even consider the possibility that maybe King Troy, correct?
07:11Yeah, King Troy.
07:12Maybe he was like annoying old boy and he was coming over to give him a piece of his
07:15mind.
07:15But you didn't have to come over here and give him a piece of your mind.
07:18You could have kept moving.
07:19Yeah.
07:19You decided to engage and then look at you.
07:21And so, it's literally, I honestly think that the injury itself is terrible.
07:25Don't get me wrong.
07:26It's ACL.
07:27It's going to, surgery, you're going to need rehab.
07:29I think the insult on top of it of literally having someone in real time, right there in
07:37your face.
07:38Right there, just rapping about your injury to you, in your face, as you are still in
07:43your shame.
07:44I think that might be worse.
07:45I think it might be worse.
07:47Yeah.
07:47This is similar to, have you ever seen somebody talk a whole bunch of bleak to somebody and
07:51they get knocked down or they fall or something and that's what you'll ask?
07:56Yeah, that's what you get.
07:57That was this times 20.
07:59So, he's saying that's what you're going to ask.
08:02He's freestyling, rapping about it, man.
08:05Sounding like a good little song, too.
08:06It wasn't bad.
08:07And there's onlookers.
08:08He's got the video in his face, too.
08:09Like, this isn't like the guy is like 10 feet away.
08:12King Troy is rapping right in front of old boy's face.
08:16Like, as close as me and you are together.
08:17As he's holding his knee.
08:18As he's holding his knee.
08:19Paramedics are coming over, mind you.
08:20Yes.
08:21And let's get to that real quick.
08:22Here is more from King Troy as the guy's lying on the ground and the paramedics pulled up.
08:27Homie about to hit the hospital.
08:29He the tour is me.
08:31I'm the brother on the microphone killing all the beats.
08:34Homie tried to punch me and fail.
08:36And tour his whole damn ACL.
08:38Shout out to my homies here.
08:40They gonna get you, bro.
08:41I'm the brother on the mice taking pictures, though.
08:44That's a true story.
08:45Homie was tripping.
08:46I'm the brother on the microphone.
08:47Make him listen.
08:48He the tour is me.
08:50Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:51Tour is me.
08:52Messing with me.
08:53Shout out to the paramedics.
08:55And they about to help you out.
08:56Give him some morphine.
08:57You know he needed it without a doubt.
09:01Man, he gotta feel bad, man.
09:03The guy was feeling it, too.
09:04That was all pretty good.
09:05The only thing that gets worse.
09:06Like, the only way this gets worse.
09:08Don't let this actually go viral.
09:09And when I say viral, it's not people seeing it.
09:12It's people singing the song.
09:13Right?
09:13Like, people start singing the song and using them.
09:15He tore his knee.
09:17Yup, yup, yup, yup.
09:18If that happens, yeah, just count me out.
09:21You won't see me from us.
09:22Hey, that song might go platinum in the NFL.
09:24Because you get a lot of ACL stuff.
09:26Yes.
09:26Yeah, so, yeah.
09:28Hey, salute to King Troy.
09:29By the way, speaking of going viral, this ain't his first rodeo.
09:32Oh, really?
09:33Yeah, so apparently he had something else that kind of went viral.
09:37This was King Troy.
09:38I want to say he was on the streets again.
09:40Yeah.
09:42And he might be the problem.
09:44He might be over here talking about people and people getting upset.
09:48Instigating.
09:49Yeah, but he was rapping about a lady.
09:52So, it was a lady on the strip, I guess.
09:55She had her hands behind her back.
09:57She was getting arrested.
09:58Okay.
09:59And he was singing this.
10:01I said I said I said he was just cop in the green.
10:03And she going to jail because that lady was me.
10:05Girl, you going to jail.
10:07Chick, chick, chick.
10:08This lady got her hands behind her back.
10:10Look like she's mad.
10:11And he's singing that she's going to jail?
10:13Yeah.
10:13You're going to jail tonight.
10:15That lady's going to jail.
10:17Chick, chick, chick, chick.
10:18That you're going to jail.
10:19Oh, man.
10:20That's too much.
10:21He's harmonizing about you going to jail.
10:23Yeah, never.
10:24Don't give me a soundtrack for my arrest.
10:26I don't like this.
10:27She didn't do it.
10:28Well, she did something.
10:28But I'm saying, like, why is he doing that to her?
10:31That poor lady's got handcuffs on.
10:32She was heated, too.
10:33She should have been.
10:35Should have been going to jail.
10:36So, I wonder, is he, like, trolling these people?
10:39Oh, yeah.
10:40Getting them riled up.
10:41And then they getting in trouble?
10:43Oh, no.
10:43I don't know.
10:44But I wonder if he's doing that, man.
10:46Because, first of all, I wouldn't be too mad at somebody just rapping on the street or
10:50something like that.
10:51Right.
10:51Right.
10:52People don't like to be perceived.
10:53Like, don't rap about me.
10:55Yeah.
10:55That's the thing.
10:56I wonder if he's just rapping in general or he rapping about people.
10:59Nah, he's got to be rapping.
11:00No, he's got to be.
11:00He's got to be rapping about people to try and get their attention, 100%.
11:03Yeah.
11:04What you doing?
11:04What's wrong?
11:06It's the Mid-State presented by Sheriff Injury Lawyers on Sports Radio 610.
11:10I'll get y'all out of here on this.
11:12And this one might make Reggie upset a little bit.
11:15Oh, no.
11:16Because, Reggie, I noticed, I guess, doing a show with you, whenever we talk about food,
11:22I'm a little upset.
11:23Because now, we're bringing up food, now you're hungry.
11:26It's all good.
11:26I got my orange.
11:27You see?
11:27I'm going to be all right.
11:28I'm going to be okay.
11:28Yeah, yeah.
11:29So, it's a new app that was created.
11:33And it's trying to help people cut down on spending money on stuff like DoorDash and
11:39stuff like that.
11:40Okay.
11:41Here is more on this app where you can order food and not spend any money.
11:48You can place an order on this food delivery app as usual, but the twist is you'll never
11:53have to pay and nothing will ever arrive.
11:56The South Korean website is called 음식만 안 와요, which means only the food is not
12:02coming.
12:03It's developer told NBC News that people use it to resist ordering delivery and save money
12:09as fees have become too expensive.
12:12About 200 to 300 people are reportedly using it every day, according to the developer.
12:18It's one of the so-called dopamine sites spreading among Gen Z.
12:22These online spaces are designed to give users a quick hit of stimulation.
12:27There is also a site where people can smoke a virtual cigarette for a few minutes, just
12:33enough for a short break from work.
12:34For shopping lovers, they can fill their cart with endless items and never have to pay a
12:40cent.
12:41Experts say it reflects a broader trend of people seeking experiences online instead of
12:47in real life, according to the Korea Times.
12:50Why?
12:51Thoughts?
12:51Why?
12:52What a way?
12:53They have to spend a lot of time doing these things and then they don't get the payoff and
12:56they get hungry or their groceries or whatever it might be.
12:59I thought about Reggie.
13:02A lot of times whenever I bring up good food in a mixed state, then it's like, man, I'm
13:08wanting now.
13:08I'm hungry.
13:09This one is the definition of that, man.
13:12Why are we wasting our time doing this?
13:15I mean, there are various different things in our society that are kind of teases that
13:19we allow ourselves to subject ourselves to.
13:21You know what I'm talking about.
13:22And so I guess this falls in line with that.
13:24I guess we kind of got to let people live.
13:26It does make me wonder, what does that do for people's brains?
13:29Because clearly it does something for them.
13:32I don't understand it, but I don't have to.
13:33It's not my life.
13:34I'm just curious.
13:36Does that do something for their brains?
13:37Is that something we need to try and fix?
13:39I'm going to see if I can find that app.
13:41I wonder if that app is available in the U.S.
13:44You'll just get hungry.
13:45Where I'm saying, you know what?
13:46I got to taste for a nice juicy steak, some mashed potatoes.
13:49Let me order this and have it delivered.
13:51And they're charging people to do this.
13:53So I think they're not.
13:55I want to say they're not charging people.
13:57Maybe they get it from the downloads.
13:59I guess so.
14:00I don't know how they're making their money.
14:01Probably advertising on the app, I'd imagine.
14:03Probably so.
14:04Or maybe data.
14:05Yeah, you know, if it's free, there's always a good chance that your data is the actual product here.
14:10Yeah, so just imagine going through all this.
14:12You know what?
14:13Let me order this.
14:14I'm kind of hungry.
14:15I think it would work in reverse.
14:17Like, if I had to order this and then realize later, oh, the steak's not coming, I'd be going nuts.
14:23Because then you have to order again.
14:24You have to actually order.
14:25Yeah.
14:26You get your mind all set for whatever it is, and then you don't get it.
14:29Honestly, maybe I'm different on this, but sometimes whenever I'm looking on DoorDash, just being lazy.
14:35Like, you know what?
14:36I want to order this from this place.
14:39Yeah.
14:40After I see the price, you know what?
14:43I'm cool.
14:44It's something in this refrigerator.
14:45Because this Cane's meal that I was planning on ordering is now $30, and it would have been $15 if
14:54I would have just went up there myself.
14:56So sometimes that helped me, but this ain't like a waste of time.
15:00It sure does.
15:00Or at least a waste of my time.
15:01It sure does.
15:02I don't know.
15:04I'm going to be honest.
15:05You just played the story.
15:06We just heard it.
15:07My brain still has not read it.
15:08I'm going to have to go back and listen again for it to, like, get in.
15:11It hasn't gotten in my brain.
15:12It's pretty much like a fake app, because when you think of DoorDash, you get all these restaurants, and you
15:17can actually order the food, and it comes to you.
15:19Yeah.
15:20This one, you placing all the food in the cart and all that stuff.
15:23And then nothing.
15:23You order it, but you're not getting the food at all.
15:26Are we trying to say that, like, the addiction, that they think the addiction isn't actually the food, it's the
15:31process of doing it?
15:32Yes, it's like shopping.
15:33Same thing with shopping.
15:34We're not a wealth society.
15:36Yeah, same thing with, like, smoking cigarettes.
15:37Some people just got to do something.
15:40Something with their hand.
15:41Yeah.
15:41Yeah.
15:44Ooh, we are not well.
15:45We are not well.
15:46And that was the mixtape presented by Sheriff Injury Lawyers.
15:49My bad.
15:49I didn't mean to step on that.
15:50Appreciate Sheriff Injury Lawyers for presenting the mixtape.
15:53Another fantastic edition of such, mind you, happens every weekday, 1.20 p.m. here on the program.
15:58If you see something mixtape worthy, hit our guy up on social media.
16:01It is at TheFiggyFig on all the platforms.
16:04I know it's not a matter of nature.
16:05I'll see you soon.
16:05I thought it was on a moon podcast.
