A united force going into the upcoming January 12th THA election as the Progressive Democratic Patriots is joining forces with the Tobago People's Party. Political leaders Farley Augustine and Watson Duke want all fifteen seats.
This, as he held a media conference on Monday, surrounded by PDP supporters at the Port Mall in Scarborough. More in this Elizabeth Williams report.

00:00It does not appear that the PDP led by Watson Duke will be fielding any candidates in the upcoming THA elections.
00:09Instead, Duke today announced his decision to support TPP leader Farley Augustine,
00:15throwing the PDP's weight behind the party now in control.
00:20Duke said this follows a phone call from Augustine.
00:23Farley and his executive were initially members of the Duke-led PDP,
00:28but parted ways and formed their own party after a falling out between Farley and Duke.
00:35Now, there seems to be a way forward.
00:38I want to let you know, as bad as Farley is, doesn't answer your phone sometimes,
00:44tell you one thing and one next thing sometimes, he's still family.
00:48And we have to stick together until we get it right.
00:53So I've said to him when he called me recently, I said, boy, look, I hear you.

01:02I prayed on it.
01:03But I say you cannot abandon family under no circumstances.
01:08So I'm here to tell the public today that Farley has my support.
01:13Mr. Duke, pumped up and in a fiery mood, supported by Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Sean Nedd,
01:21and Deputy Political Leader Curtis Douglas, said this time around,
01:25the PNM must lose 50-0 as they have not placed Tobago first.
01:31We will mobilize the ground.
01:34We will put Tobago in our gear.
01:36Because the PNM must understand, for 21 years, they put Tobago second.
01:42And now the outer power, they want to tell us, put Tobago first.

01:49We don't want Ole back there now.

01:52We must give them a crushing defeat.
01:58And this time, we are going back for all 15 seats.
02:02Mr. Duke said the PNM would be beaten black and blue by the TPP supported by the PDP.

02:18And I promise you all, when we hit the ground, we are bringing home 15 seats.
