00:07joint operation targeting businesses, public areas and worker settlements in Pontian and
00:13Kulai.
00:14State Immigration Director Datuk Mohamed Rusti Mohamed Darus said the 10 a.m. operation
00:19on Wednesday was carried out with the Pontian and Kulai Municipal Councils to curb undocumented
00:25migrants, unregistered employers, and premises breaching licensing and local regulations.
00:32Comprehensive inspections were conducted to verify the validity of travel documents and
00:37monitor employers for illegal hiring.
00:40Those detained comprised 31 adult men from Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Myanmar, five
00:47Indonesian women and one Indonesian boy.
00:51They were held for having invalid travel documents, overstaying their permitted period or misusing
00:56social visit passes.
00:58All detainees are being investigated under the Immigration Act 1959-63 and Immigration Regulations
01:061963 and have been placed at the Setia Tropica Immigration Depot for further action.
