A total of 120 foreigners were arrested during an immigration operation at a construction site in Persiaran Panorama Lapangan Perdana, Ipoh, on Saturday (July 19).

Perak Immigration director Datuk James Lee said those arrested were detained for offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and other related regulations.

00:13The raid was jointly conducted by the Perec Immigration Department and the General Operations
00:18Force, with around 200 individuals screened.
00:22State Immigration Director Datuk James Lee said those arrested were detained for offences
00:27under the Immigration Act 1959-63 and other related regulations.
00:34The operation focused on individuals using fake or expired documents, as well as those
00:39residing illegally in Malaysia.
00:41He also urged employers to deal directly with the immigration department and to avoid using
00:46middlemen.
00:48All detainees will be transferred to the home ministry complex, while undocumented children
00:53will be placed in a special holding depot.
