00:15sense of urgency today yeah I mean it's high you got to go out there and play your best football
00:18this is a great team we're going up against I'm excited for the opportunity let's go do it
00:21you're facing a Lou Anarumo led defense that you have struggled against what will be the key to
00:26getting into an offensive rhythm today you got to just take it one play at a time keep getting
00:30positive plays and then find a way to score in the red zone good luck today appreciate you
00:34all right Trace so the Chiefs will be kicking off as the Colts won the toss and they want the football
00:43on a 54 degree day and sunshine it was thick fog up until about two hours ago I thought we might
00:51have the second coming of the fog bowl but man it has cleared out it's bright sunshine we're ready to
00:55roll here Tony it is thick with pressure too yes sir there's a sense of urgency and you know it
01:00the fate of Kansas City season I believe will be determined today whether they can continue
01:07here's Butker to kick off we're ready to play some ball here as let's field at the seven yard line by
01:14Abdullah as he just barely gets across the 30 yard line let's bring out Daniel Jones who's directed
01:22this offense to a league leading total of 32 points per game just look at what he's done
01:29all these numbers are career best for him his team is eight and two it's an offensive line that in the
01:35words of Jonathan Taylor the star running back is very athletic they are they all pull they all move
01:42they get around everywhere Daniel Jones though great season but how good really are you can
01:48you go into Arrowhead and beat the man I'm gonna start out with a handoff to Taylor and look at him
01:54just move the pile and the still going for a gain of eight you get past the first wave and second and third
02:01level there's no one like him you're exactly right he is exceptional at that and he's gonna be one of the
02:07key matchups today right there you just saw if the Colts are able to do that and pose their will this will
02:14not be a Steve Spagnuolo blitz fest but right now you've got to slow them down on first down because
02:22now they can play action do anything there there it is a little jump off pass to Taylor quick hit on him
02:29by Connor still fighting got a yard out of it it's gonna be third and one coming up this is what makes
02:36Taylor so good you mentioned it on that first play you see it's like okay he's about to be down then he
02:40comes out of the pile and all of a sudden you're like he's gonna get tackled no and if you give him
02:45space he will make you miss on the second and third levels like nobody else this season his leg drive
02:51his hip and shoulder manipulation it's best in the league they've got a third and one here
03:06right back to Taylor it's one little cut to get past tranquil and it's a first down you you just said
03:14that his ability to cut leverage angles leg drive this is a stop for most running backs you get the
03:23corner shooting it's set up perfectly in the hole for tranquil you just can't make the play because
03:28Taylor's that good you're right Tony it'd be a lot of backs it would have been stopped right there cold
03:34you have a guy right in the wall and six yards to carry this late in the season that's impressive to
03:4115 rushing touchdowns and 17 overall they fake the handoff bootleg they get it to Pittman and Pittman
03:49has five or six on that first down Pittman's been another one of these players has had a great year
03:55for Indianapolis you're exactly right and I'll tell you no one knows how to use all these weapons
04:03better Shane Steichen one of the best play callers head coach in the national league really his vision
04:09has come to fruition this year I mean he's got people all over the place obviously Warren is
04:14incredible this rookie tight end and you're seeing how simple they can make the game handoff handoff
04:20bootleg and a play action shot get the ball to war and then Taylor Taylor
04:24Steichen in his third year on a second and four they go back to Taylor another cut and dropped by
04:31Chanel after two and we've got a flag first of the day and Alex Moore will be the lead official on this
04:41game today yeah this will probably end up being a hold on the center Bordellini 60 for the Colts
04:49holding office number 60. so they got Bordellini this time he's been quite a surprise for them too
05:02the second year center out of Wisconsin
05:08making the move on Bolton right here and he got hold of him yep and he does he grabs back and this is
05:13the one area that's going to be really fascinating to watch is this outstanding run unit but the
05:20Chiefs when they've decided to shut the run down they can in years past even this year at times they
05:25can do it when they do it the pass rush has to hold up though in these situations they need a better four
05:29man pass rush Jim these four guys just haven't affected the quarterback as much that's why they have
05:35the pressure after a spot foul second and 13 gets rid of it quickly and it is caught again short yardage
05:43for Pittman got a third and long on the way for Indianapolis pick up a three oh we just mentioned
05:51C right there Karloff just coming in that ball had to come out earlier that's when Kansas City's at the
05:57best with four men rushing and affect the quarterback and obvious passing downs like this one
06:03there's been quite a bit of pass rush on Jones his last two games yep been sacked 12 times over the
06:11last two games a loss to Pittsburgh and a win in overtime against Atlanta over in Berlin
06:1830-10 flag out quickly Jones finds Pittman threads the pass and he tumbles down to about the 38 the
06:28marker is at the line of scrimmage that pass went for 19. illegal formation office number 72 is
06:34not on the line of scrimmage five yards finishing they've got the right tackle Braden Smith so
06:40two infractions on the Colts offensive line wow this is a monster call that was a big time throw
06:47so right here the center right in his derriere there too far back gotta be up on the line of scrimmage
06:54easy call for the refs didn't look quite that far away live it wasn't quite jawan taylor-esque
07:03as far as being off the line true very true
07:12third and forever jones goes underneath to warren and the rookie actually gets within a couple of yards of
07:19the first as he fights for those last couple they're actually gonna mark three yards short of it
07:24gain of 13. Colts offense stays on the field chris jones right here just smokes the right guard
07:34and you'll find right there that pressure daniel jones felt and had to get the ball out but they're going
07:39this and they're an astounding 17 out of 21 this year on fourth down it's impressive both these teams
07:48come up with great game plays that's on fourth and short which disqualifies
07:53coming after oh he got the false start arrowhead came alive
08:03both start off for number 71 five-yard penalty goes down
08:09gonzalves this time flag for it and the punting unit will see action really back-to-back plays chris jones
08:16right here he's gonna get yep gonzalves to jump and that's what happens when you get beat on the play
08:24before jim all of a sudden you kind of want to make sure that doesn't happen again sanchez in the punt
08:31the colts have punted fewer times than any team in the league this year this is going to be only the
08:3620th punt of the year in game 11. wow what an incredible stat that is and it's a good one
08:44fair caught by remedio at about the 7 49 yard boot and we have another penalty it's at the 50 the flag
08:56by the way i was impressed with daniel jones on that third down even though during a kick
09:00holding the second team number 49 the penalties half the distance to the goal first down came to city
09:07timeout
09:07so now they've already pinned inside the 10 more pins yeah inside the five it'll be
09:16as we'll see that chief's offense take the field for the first time

10:14well i think the first thing is we talk about stay committed to the run right there great job
10:18it's only going to help you in the play action game i think mahomes has to play one of his best games
10:23because this offense for indianapolis is going to score points
10:26and to me they got to control no penalties indianapolis cost himself points for penalties like
10:31ball tip and caught at the five and still they're going to win them down back at the two-yard line
10:38wow lock two makes the play what a play it was
10:44wow what a shocking beginning to this game this is an rpo we talk about you can hand this off
10:51or keep it and he wants to throw the slant there look at it tip it and retrieve it you're exactly
10:56right law two with one of the biggest plays of the season you could argue for a defensive end early
11:04in the game changing the dynamic and he almost scored actually tried to keep himself up just shocking
11:11to see that happen it's rare because the instincts of patrick holmes are so good jim that he makes you not
11:17even know where he's going to throw the ball that's an impressive play and a big time start for the colts
11:25you could feel the tension in the building like this is as a playoff atmosphere no question colts
11:31on goal to go situation this year a hundred percent touchdowns wow from the three hand off to taylor
11:40and taylor slam down jamari connor along with chanel team up to force them behind the line of
11:50scrimmage right just watch this side of the line they're just going to go ahead and set the edge by
11:57chanel and extend so taylor has to go wider and then the swarm comes in like i said when the chiefs decide
12:05to commit to the run fully with a huge sense of urgency game they can stop the run this is a tall
12:10task now second goal back at the six
12:18jones looking and connecting for the touchdown it's michael pitman jr
12:24daniel jones looks so comfortable you could just tell this is not too big for him that was one of
12:35the areas this monster game can he do it in a big environment but watch this design by shane steichen
12:40in this office you spend all week the reason why they're 100 they can run the ball and they got great
12:46design plays that get people open in short spaces that was perfect job by pitman there to stop turn
12:57touchdown and another successful goal to go touchdown conversion 100 and you look at what they've done
13:07in their last now 26 red zone trips they've they've scored 22 touchdowns out of the last 26.
13:14hmm that's since the start of october well i mean they're number one in the nfl and scoring total yards
13:22you know third in red zone offense third and passing third rushing they're complete

13:32set up by lock two's interception
13:35the colts able to convert two plays later jones to pitman seven nothing indianapolis

14:44five and five with that scenario here's the pass over to hunt and hunts near first time i say that
14:50scenario first time anybody's ever won five games by double digits and five games lost by single
14:56scores they can't win the close one this is a great job i want you to watch mahomes eyes he's gonna
15:02go ahead and go through the progression look right come back middle and then get all the way back to the
15:06left that is great footwork and that is a great sign because usually when you feel the nerves or
15:13things quarterbacks they'll kind of rush through things or start to move around good to come back
15:18after the interception so gain of 11 rashad smith in the backfield and the pass caught that is worthy
15:27taking quite a hit after a catch for nine that ball had some heat right there great job
15:34you'll watch mahomes is going to throw it right inside to rice they double team him
15:40resets throws a bullet into worthy's chest watch he's going to go to rice right there nope he's not
15:47open turn fire that's a good sign for chiefs fans that he's in that rhythm other than the rhythm of
15:54the interception yeah his last four opening drives last four games as hunt picks up the first down
16:02on a second and short the last four games opening drives mahomes has been picked off twice it's crazy
16:10and that's rare for a first 15 andy reed team and that's why you know it's just he's got to play
16:16better and that's the biggest thing the interception against denver really hurt him down in the red zone
16:21in their last game we saw that this one obviously puts you behind the eight ball if it was your backs
16:25were against the wall before they definitely are now down seven three tight ends come in for this
16:30first down snap including tungan and gray then run it straight ahead and galloping before he's
16:38tossed down for seven that's hunt with jermaine pratt the one with the aggressive tackle two runs
16:46back to back you're gonna watch a cutback come here just wash it down on the line and it's a great job
16:54by gray cut blocking on the edge but to me if andy reed gets under center it's usually play action type of
17:04stuff especially early downs good sign hunt with four touches for 23 total yards
17:12it's a second and three you got kelsey
17:15pass just wide of richard smith the rookie wanting to see some laundry that's not going to
17:22surface pratt on the coverage
17:29you're going to get out in space you got one-on-one you can go up break in or out
17:34cross his face and that's definitely a penalty

17:45should have been a penalty javerius ward by the way is back off of ir here's rice
17:49on third and three he's got the first kind of hurried to the line that time
17:55and may have caught the colts not quite set they move the chains again

18:09patrick mahomes one of the two teams who's knocked him out before the super bowl patriots and him
18:16let's come up with some great plans three and three yeah they won the first three but lost the
18:20last three that is true but they did win here in the amc title game mm-hmm
18:24and anna rumo coming up with some big stuff is hunt look at that effort kareem hunt running
18:30behind trey smith near another first down they give him nine they're going to spot him just short
18:36you want to know when the season's on the line when andy reed runs the ball over and over again
18:42mahomes has the ability to keep that that's an rpo well when you throw an interception on the first

18:53few times and it gets more makes the quarterback feel more comfortable that you can trust that you're
18:57going to get yards clyde edwards allaire has been brought up from the practice squad he gets the
19:01handoff on second and one and i believe he was stopped short by franklin
19:06they went with edwards allaire today and put down elijah mitchell inactive
19:17it's gonna be third and one
19:22calviendo comes in as an eligible receiver on that offensive front
19:27third and he has been a one-man conversion rate talking about kareem hunt
19:44we talk about it each week we do the game
19:46just give them the ball sometimes they try and get a little too cute
19:50i can only remember one stop that we've seen
19:55more runs than passes that's what you've been calling for i just think you have to this
20:02as of you know before the buffalo game you watched three out of four games they're rushing for 140
20:0750 yards a game and i was like this is the most efficient i've seen the running game where these
20:11guys up front can impose their will you can take pressure off mahomes
20:14here's the first to ten out of the backfield to smith he's got room he's got another first down
20:26as the chiefs continue to methodically march down the field that went for 11.
20:32mahomes knows right away he sees the pre-snap look and he knows the leverage for smith is gonna
20:37get outside and in a good rhythm now this is the kind of game you i thought going in kansas city run
20:45the ball get the ball out fast don't need to go anything crazy stick to the run
20:5311th play of this drive coming up
20:56rice on the near side sauce gardner on him and i was like that's not okay whatever that was
21:02i was like you can't have
21:13i don't think this is technically a penalty there is no foul on the play correct first down
21:21so what happened is they ran off the 11th player and the rest are like whoa whoa whoa that was the

21:3635 000 career pass yards youngest player all time with 35k plus 2500 plus rushing
21:46by the way that helps because kansas city chartered to play with 10 guys so it actually helped kansas
21:50city to get 11 guys back out there from the 19 to roll out and throw the run and it's worthy making
21:58a nice catch for eight yards
22:05just a rollout smash concept where you've got a hitch in a corner and
22:09homes throws it high and away on purpose and what a catch by worthy extending yeah grabbed it by the
22:15finger nails
22:19travis kelsey comes out for this play it's the second and two as taylor watches
22:26are you gonna run it into the eight-man box and stay committed
22:31there's your run it's hunt and franklin's right there on him but first he got
22:37past the sticks got a goal to go coming up and the reason i want them to stay committed to the run
22:41especially under center runs they've always had a lot of play action stuff down the field
22:46when the quarterback's under center last week i felt like uh-oh before as buckner gets hurt
22:53atlanta was able to run the ball and expose that front a little bit and if you can do that today
22:57as you see that dominant defensive lineman who's out that's gonna hurt them jim because that's when
23:03you're gonna get the looks to get the ball down the field as the game goes up buckner
23:07on ir with a neck injury gallimore has taken his spot first and goal
23:16smith the running back kelsey back in stepping up going kelsey twisted down at about the four yard
23:23line by pratt
23:29kelsey does a great job just finding his own he can run across and he's like wait okay i'm gonna wait
23:34right here just give you a spot to throw to me and get in the quarterback's division nobody better
23:38than these two at that this is crazy yeah how about this they're plus 73 scoring margin wise
23:48guys but they're five and five they've got a second and goal
23:57kelsey straight in for the touchdown career touchdown 85

24:10this is the only way that the chiefs one of the biggest reasons why they can have the scoring margin
24:28it's the penalties the penalties personal foul face mask offense number 74 15-yard penalty
24:38second down wow and that's a big one not only is it a touchdown denying penalty
24:44but it's 15 yards on a goal to go situation

25:10where it's like now you just lost your great play that you set up and that's not a 15-yard let's

25:29hand is on the helmet but it was not grabbing the opening so it is a reviewable play and if it's not

25:47andy reed could have challenged that gene just told us and that could have stood as a touchdown

27:21coming up they should have allowed that to continue to go it was a lot too we got flagged for that
27:32and part of it's too when you hit the offensive lineman but you got a great opportunity now where
27:37it was really really difficult before now it's just a little bit third and goal the holmes flushed
27:44throws throws it away pressure by zire franklin this is going to be a long drive for only three
27:56if butker converts this is just a great job by anarumo he's going to go ahead and put five guys
28:02over the ball and now twist around by franklin and that's a lot of communication for the offensive
28:09line and that's what makes lou so game plan specific 28 yards for harrison butker has made his last
28:18seven field goal attempts isn't that a microcosm of the chiefs year though in so many ways score the
28:24touchdown it comes back exactly that's exactly what they've been saying they feel like they're so close

31:33mean great job of him jogging shane steikin special right here he's given him multiple options you can
31:39hand off you can throw it in the flat and you can just jog your way to a first down that'll be the
31:43easiest first down he runs for this year no kidding but how good is shane i mean he's a football
31:49junkie through and through gives his team so many advantages impressive to watch first attack
31:55from the 38. another fake handoff and a dump off and it's not caught taylor could not grab hold of
32:03it was a little bit low on the throw we've got an update adam shine over to you buddy jim nance
32:11sony romo t.j wad sacks caleb williams results in a stealer's touchdown t.j now has more career sacks
32:18than jj how about that 14 7 pittsburgh back to you oh that's a good one going on
32:27at soldier field pittsburgh's only won one time in its history at chicago the one and 12 all time

32:39pass open and that's mo ally cox the backup tight end within about a yard of the first
32:46great decision here get the ball out but it's even better play design have pitman and warren
32:55two of your top receivers and tight end obviously they move out of the way and just throw to a guy
33:02that you wouldn't really account for a ton i think everybody in the building expects this to end up in
33:08the hands of taylor on a third and a full yard
33:20but it's not over the top they go and look at this play off he goes that's doing shoved out inside the
33:29five yard line can't say enough about shane steichen and the advantages resurrecting daniel jones's
33:39career just watch julian's on the right playing the tight end just pretending to block and sneaks out you
33:44know you're getting man on third and one because you can't give up a baby check down and connor's eyes just
33:49got caught in the background and by that point you see their little speedster the end around yeah
33:57ashton drewman 48 yards on a third and one everybody bought into it that was going to taylor
34:03another goal to go situation for the colts who are amazing in these situations here's warren
34:10and double teamed and decked by bolton and cook
34:18they're so complete the colts offense i mean it's just there's no weakness anywhere
34:25all 21 goal to go drives number one you got to be able to run the ball you see nelson right there you
34:33can run behind him and then you got a coach who can design things and you got the players they built this
34:38incredibly well second and goal but that guy has stopped some big plays before is chris jones going
34:45to do it here ogletree in motion jones looking up top throws back at the end zone are the feet down yes
34:57it is ogletree with the touchdown grab
35:00another play design and also a big time throw you know the entire chief team is going to be over by
35:12warren all three tight ends catch a pass on this drive and does he get the second one yes he does
35:20that's we saw ally cox on the one warren got this
35:24quick bubble and then ogletree in motion running a dig come on and getting his feet in at the back of
35:31the end zone how about that for a first catch of the season it's crazy heli cox had his fifth reception
35:37of the season but this is how you go against the spagnola team not your top guys the other ones and
35:43doula who had the 48 yard play that was his fifth catch of the season wow so they game planned it by week
35:50yep moving it around getting people involved and driving the distance on the chiefs
35:59look at the colts up 14-3
36:09he and daniel jones 10 of 11 for the game to seven different receivers and a pair of touchdown passes
36:17he just looks so comfortable he knows the system cold he studies it he's learned it and he has been
36:25so impressive i'm telling you right now i'm worried if i'm a chiefs fan here's romeo
36:33gonna take it to the right side but there's nothing there to operate with
36:37he keeps saying they're gonna solve it right jim they're gonna solve it they're gonna figure it out
36:41yeah and right now uh-oh

37:58fully but having sauce gardener and ward back lies you play a lot more man like they are here
38:03second and seven as hunt is backed up after picking up about three yards
38:09rover stewart stewart playing really good football and they're going to need him to continue to do that
