00:00craning my neck to see the scoreboard of center field and it said welcome to the new yankee stadium
00:06and that's all it said the entire day it was broken that's all that's awesome that's funny
00:13fly ball center field they retire phrases look at the first big screen televisions and everybody
00:20you had to get a crane to get out of the house and it was as deep as it was
00:25wide
00:26you needed a whole block of a wall take it out and you'd have to open it up and change
00:30tubes no more
00:36and the cool part about that day throwing out the first pitch was bob shawky who threw the first
00:42pitch in the original yankee stadium you got more stories tonight than anybody this is it was that
00:48that's a day that that sticks with me because it was such a big deal
00:56and i can't believe it was 50 years ago
01:15no brian hoke who covers the yankees for mlb.com had a story today about the you know the old
01:20yankee stadium going to open the catcher is challenging the ball call they're going to
01:23challenge this ball call so another challenge by wells powered by t-mobile and he's right
01:28after the stadium open in the next day's daily news right remember phil peppy yeah he wrote sarcastically
01:38perhaps they will bring back dick tedrow to draw the first ball if they've remodeled yankee stadium
01:43two into yankee stadium three in the year 2026 at the cost of several billion he was only a couple
01:49years off
01:56so he will reach first base
01:59you don't want to do that on an oh two count one two count yeah i mean this is a
02:03split finger and it
02:04just got away from see to slip out of his hand and you know if you're going to get hit
02:08get hit right
02:09there in the buttocks with a with a split finger still even mark
02:17so the tail of the tape by the two heavyweights two guys going to the hall of fame two guys
02:21with three
02:22mbps two guys with rookie of the years two guys with the identical career batting average of 293 they
02:28both done quite well in this series the first game they both hit two home runs and today they both
02:34have a home run
02:37and greatness i'm sure admires greatness so they they realize what they are and the other one yeah i
02:42would assume that you know you see here and judge get off to a good start hit a home run
02:47and then you
02:47see trout hit one and all of a sudden it does become a little competition just because you're the big
02:53names
02:53uh in the game today well let's take a look at the home runs for those guys at the spectrum
03:02exit
03:03below so today judges 105.7 and trout 102.8 here's trout four home runs in the series
03:13that's why the hit by pitch on netto was so huge you mentioned this uh in the fifth and then
03:17they
03:17walk netto and all of a sudden you got trout coming up with a man on base and i can
03:21remember trout said
03:22it was really bad against cruz in game one where he really did not even offer it to split finger
03:28cruz could not control it so you know this is a different day obviously so that's a good sign to
03:34get ahead where you know that split finger you can get a swing and a miss outside the strike zone
03:39very hard to get to that pitch if you can't get ahead
04:08one on one on trout
04:11now one and two now what do you think Paul he sits fast when you see two strikes he sits
04:15off speed he sits off speed
04:17he's so quick inside that he you know he doesn't worry about that pitch most players have to guard inside
04:23but he is so quick that he can kind of sit off speed away
04:35hits that one sharply and passed a diving caballero he really stung that ball netto going to third
04:43and he's out a good throw by bellinger a good tag by mcmahon the play was right in front of
04:49netto and he
04:50decided to go to third yeah cody bellinger made a great throw right on the target mike trout we were
04:55talking about sitting off speed and i think the yankees thought the same thing but he catches up to the
05:01fastball netto down with a great throw from cody bellinger no runs ahead no errors and just one man left
05:08because netto gets thrown out to the delight of fernando cruz at the end of six and a half time
05:13for the
05:13seventh inning stretch angels lead the yankees by one but we'll stay right here as we honor america
05:19in the bronx but let's wait for that because the angels
05:22are going to they're not going to challenge but they are going to challenge
05:27so they're going to challenge the call at third base michael the replay we saw
05:31look pretty obvious maybe not from that angle but you can't really tell
05:37his hands off the bat
05:41and that that's what that man's pointing at so maybe the initial
05:45tag does not get all i think that might have got him too got him on the chest i think
05:49he was out twice
05:56and that was yelling he pushed me off you know a swipe tag it didn't look like mcmahon intentionally
06:01he kind of just held held the glove too you see netto trying to sell that he pushed him off
06:07have to review the call on the field is confirmed the runner is out los angeles will lose their
06:11challenge all right so the angels lose the challenge and we will stay right where we are
06:16as they honor america we honor america here in the bronx
06:31ladies and gentlemen will you rise remove your caps and please direct your attention to the area
06:37behind home plate as the new york yankees welcome an honored military guest
06:43united states army specialist peter reed from toms river new jersey who served in operation iraqi freedom
06:53the yankees say thank you peter for your sacrifice and for your service to our nation
07:06and now ladies and gentlemen please join us in singing along
07:10with robert merrill's rendition of god bless america
07:16lord west america
07:20land that i love stand beside her and guide her
07:31throw the light with the light from above
07:35from the mountains
07:38from the mountains
07:39to the praises
07:41to the ocean
07:43right before
07:46god bless america
07:50my home sweet home
07:55god bless america
08:01my home sweet home
08:13my home
08:15all right fans it's stretch time so please join in
08:19and sing along as yankee stadium organist paul cartier
08:24is better
08:25than one superstar on broadway well how about two
08:29two mike trout and iron judge together for this series total of six mvps between the two of them
08:36and what's better than showing them
08:37having them show themselves
08:39they have put on an absolute clinic
08:43power hitting baseball over these three games
08:49wells
08:49wells leads off and fouls the ball away against kohanowitz
08:54now time for the seventh inning recap brought to you by car shield four six and over the angels
08:57three three and off of the yanks kohanowitz is pit six still in there
09:01trout the two-run home run gave the angels the lead perfect
09:04by wells
09:06wow he could add a double on that but he stops at first with a single
09:09you just got to keep it in the grass because if it gets off the grass to the corner on
09:15the dirt it's
09:15got enough spin to roll foul this was absolutely done perfectly
09:22yeah thinking maybe i should do that a couple of lefties well with that shift you can take plenty
09:27of time it's not like you really got to get out of the box if you make the proper bunt
09:31you can walk
09:32to first base but a nice job down one run good good thinking
09:40good change up you can see he's almost leaving because it's an off-speed pitch
09:45with the old torpedo bat it can bunt too
09:51just perfect perfectly executed
09:55a long mound visit by the pitching coach mike maddox
10:00michael this is the seventh inning stretch and we just sat down from god bless america and the reason
10:05i say that is there's a lot of stories out there that gene autry who was the founder of the
10:12angels
10:12the city cowboy back in what 1961 i think was the first guy that really pushed for god bless america
10:21to be part of a baseball game and now it's a staple
10:26here's caballero and wells goes netto thought about going to second but because wells was going he makes it
10:33they make the out at first and the runner moves in the scoring position yeah that to me possibly a
10:40hit and run because uh wells is off looks back how the arrow puts it in play
10:46by being in motion you know you stay out of the double play and wells now at second base
10:54well it's george steinberg who made it a staple on the seven they stretch every single game right
10:59uh the yankees are the only team to do that every other team does it on sundays
11:03the yankees do it every day ryan mcmahon swings and misses
11:1092 pitches for kohanowitz
11:14angels lead 4-3 we're in the bottom of the seven
11:16one mcmahon looking for his first big yankee moment in twenty twenty six
11:25strike well I might have to tip my hat on that one that's uh that that ball was kind of
11:30up and in
11:32I guess it's uh felt like it was a strike
12:09one and two two and two on McMahon number nine batter on deck is Trent Grisham
12:21the ball was in the second after giving up the solo home run the judge in the first and like
12:25he could unravel on it but
12:26he collected himself he's helping it he's down since then
12:30by the way last time off
12:40mcmahon hit it into the corner in left field
12:42it drove low to the warning track so he did drive the ball
12:47just didn't find grass or seats
12:59two two swing and a miss dug him out
13:02dialed it up to ninety seven
13:04and the crowd showing its displeasure
13:10and the crowd showing its displeasure
13:10well you look at mcmahon and you know things have got to get better but i would love to see
13:16to tell you the truth how he kind of grips the back because
13:19sometimes i feel like his top hand is really not part of the swing
13:23and i think he needs to really get that top hand over the ball where he's straight to the baseball
13:29we're going to figure this out over the break michael and we're going to come back and fix it
13:32all right we go to the left knee to face grisham when we come back
13:57trying to name that yankee
13:59this is considered easy 295 1660 hits 267 stolen bases i think i know this one i think i know
14:08it
14:08too it's starting off easy this year let's see by the all-star break there'll be 15s
14:16off the charts so the yankees counter the angels bringing in a left-hander
14:21through pomeranz by sending up paul goldschmidt to pinch hit for trent grisham
14:29well goldschmidt's such a weapon against lefty pomeranz has had a great comeback but
14:34he off to a tough start this year but solid inning the other night against the yankees
14:48i'm sure that this is not going to please grisham who certainly doesn't consider himself a platoon
14:55play yeah but goldschmidt strength and the reasons on his team he's one of the top hitters last year
15:00against left-handed pitching so this is when they could send goldschmidt up to the plate no he's going
15:06to face a lefty line drive and it's caught by frazier goldschmidt hit it right on the screws but
15:15frazier went up to get it and that'll do it for the inning no runs ahead and one man left
15:20on base
15:21we go to the eighth inning angels four and the yankees three
15:31the eighth inning
15:35and paul you notice something with goldschmidt's grip right it's what i was noticing about mcmahon
15:40what i think now you see his index finger that's loaded to use your top hand that's the way i
15:46always
15:46just to remind myself i want to stay on top of the ball right to the ball i think mcmahon
15:51has got the
15:52kind of back in the palm of his hand so watch that top hand is really underneath the baseball
15:59and it just does it makes for a longer swing now a long swing aaron judge is fine because he
16:05uses his
16:05bottom hand to drive the ball out of the ballpark but i think mcmahon if he kind of gets that
16:10top hand
16:11more in the swing it's going to be much quicker to the baseball and when i was thinking that and
16:16i saw
16:17goldschmidt on deck in that position it brought back so many memories of just hitting one-handed
16:23batting practice and stuff just to remind yourself to get your top hand in the swing seanowell gets a
16:29base hit against the new yankee pitcher brent hedrick
16:34that's his uh first hit of the series
16:40really funny moment in the um daily manager's pre-game press conference today
16:46with aaron boone and boone was talking about hedrick and he he kept pausing and you knew who he was
16:55talking about but he said what what's his first name man i had those moments a couple times a day
17:02and so jack curry goes he goes and we all looked at him because well that's not what i call
17:07him
17:07and and jack asked him well what do you call him he goes call him head
17:12so jason silver goes it's it's brent but you know there's so many nicknames in baseball
17:17he sometimes you don't know the guy's first name
17:26and he also revealed paul that the other nickname that the team has for
17:33pedrick is grande manos he has huge hands supposedly
17:49two and two on adele now you you can see missing from the lab today is roger soleil
17:54yeah who's been damaging for them now he was suspended seven games for his altercation
17:58against the braves he appealed it and they heard the appeal and they cut the suspension down to four
18:04but he begins serving it today so the angels are playing a man down
18:10he must have made a compelling argument to have it dropped from seven to four
18:13yeah usually when you appeal something you know you might get a game or two but you know what seven
18:18to
18:18four that's uh that's a pretty good deal
18:24so the angels only have three players on the bench not four playing with 25 not 26
18:34wow that one has blistered into the seats hope everybody's okay it was over the screen so i was
18:39able to get into the seats
18:45now today's jackie robinson day and joe adele actually visited um the jackie robinson museum
18:55and he uh he was interviewed on mlb network and he said it was beautiful
19:01it's important for players to know about the past
19:08ground ball mcmahon there's one on the first
19:13that's a double play around the horn five four three
19:17plan a big double play too i mean you're running out of outs and you're still down a run so
19:21lead off single the dell's been really good lately you got a nice double play tailor made
19:28리 everybody and that's what's in the Craft you are just going crazy
19:47the bat is f Doktor
19:48we've got aır
19:49hadrik fielich flips the rice good inning
19:51for the Yankee left hander we go to the bottom of the eighth inning angels four Ryan history
20:03The Yankees' upcoming schedule brought to you by Booking.com.
20:07One more game against the Angels.
20:08Note the start time, 1.35 tomorrow.
20:11That'll be on yes.
20:12Then the Kansas City Royals come to town.
20:13All three games on yes.
20:15Then the Yankees hit the road.
20:16Boston, Houston, and then they visit the Texas Rangers.
20:23So Pomerantz stays in.
20:26And Ben Rice leads off.
20:28Rice, Judge, and Bellinger here in the eighth.
20:31Yankees down by one.
20:37Pits shortly and backhanded by Neto.
20:40Fires the first.
20:43One down.
21:01Here's Judge Homer in the first inning.
21:03Eighty-eight time he's done that.
21:04A first inning home run.
21:20And now.
21:22And now.
21:46to get that 3 and 0.
22:02And there's a strike.
22:17Big cut trying to tie it right there.
22:20Three and two.
22:21Yankees have Bednar up in the bullpen.
22:27You know, Sierra Judge called time out very often,
22:29but he took such a big swing.
22:32He had a recon.
22:34Tried to reboot a little bit.
22:45Hi Papa.
22:47Sean Ouell.
22:48Bound territory near the stands.
22:51And it comes back for him.
22:52And he makes the play to retire a judge.
22:56The NWSL on Prime is back next Friday, April 24th.
22:59Trinity Rodman and the Washington Spirit take on Temwa Chawwenga and the Kansas City Current in a can't-miss matchup
23:07at 8 p.m. Eastern.
23:08And it's only on Prime.
23:22Bellinger pops it up.
23:24For Raza.
23:26Quite inning for Pomerantz.
23:28The heart of the Yankee order.
23:29And he gets them 1, 2, 3.
23:32We go to the ninth.
23:42Time to name that Yankee.
23:44So here are the clues.
23:45Paul, you said you know this?
23:46I think I know it.
23:48I could be wrong.
23:48I think it's Mick the Quick, isn't it?
23:50Mick the River.
23:50You are correct.
23:52Big part of the Yankee 77 and 78 championship teams came from the Angels.
23:59And he could do it all.
24:01Grindingly fast speed.
24:04Ran the bases beautifully.
24:06Really good center fielder as well.
24:10And just the character on that ball club.
24:15Mickie Rivers.
24:18David Bednar comes in.
24:19There's a ground ball grab by Caballero.
24:21Fires the first.
24:23And they got him.
24:24A beautiful play to get Peraza on both ends.
24:28A stretch by Rice, but a great play by Caballero.
24:32Well, these big plays to start the inning off are big now
24:35because the Yankees still trying to catch the Angels down a run.
24:39You don't want to give up here in the ninth.
24:41But a big out.
24:51There's Lowe.
24:53Now, Mickie Rivers had a run case keeping everybody loose.
24:57Yeah.
24:58See this on the super shot.
24:59And when the Yankees got goose gosses, signed him as a free agent
25:03during the offseason after 77,
25:06he started 78 and really struggled.
25:09I mean, got hit hard all the time.
25:13And back in those days, the Yankee relief pitchers would come into the bullpen.
25:17It was a, it was a Dachshund, which is now a Nissan.
25:23And it had pinstripes and the Yankee top hat logo, and they were bringing in gossage.
25:27And Mickie Rivers on something and threw himself on the hood of the car.
25:31He said, don't have him come in.
25:35Yeah, he was originally drafted by the Orioles.
25:37And again, in 75, Mickie Rivers set the Angels' single-season record, 70 stolen bases.
25:52And the down goes low.
25:55I mean, what a shrewd trade for the Yankees.
25:58So the Yankees traded probably the most popular Yankee, other than Thurman, that was Bobby Mercer.
26:03And they traded him to the Giants for Bobby Bonds.
26:08And Bonds played one year with the Yankees.
26:10And then they turned around and traded Bobby Bonds to the Angels for Mickey Rivers and Ed Figueroa.
26:16Two guys instrumental in the two Yankee championships.
26:22There's a strike to a hobby.
26:25Jordan Romano didn't have much luck closing it out the other night.
26:29It's like they're going to bring him in.
26:30I was almost wondering, as easy as Pomerantz got through that inning, if he might just roll the dice with
26:36him.
26:37Because, you know, you've got Stanton leading off.
26:39Obviously, that's not a great matchup.
26:41But then you've got Chisholm and Wells.
26:43Two left.
26:44So, you know, it looks like the closer is Romano, even though he had the tough night.
26:50He can give him the ball again.
26:54Good inning for Bednar.
26:56Retires the Angels in order.
26:57Can the Yankees rally against Romano?
27:01They did on Monday.
27:02We'll see if they can do it on Wednesday.
27:14Well, tomorrow afternoon on Yes, the Yankees and the Angels play the series finale here in the Bronx.
27:18Coverage begins at 1 with the FanDuel pregame.
27:21That first pitch is scheduled for shortly after 1.30 on Yes and the Gotham Sports app.
27:28Well, the Angels had a 2-1 lead coming into the bottom of the ninth inning.
27:32On Monday, they brought in Jordan Romano.
27:34He gave up a 2-1 home run to Grisham to tie the game.
27:39Then Caballero doubled.
27:40And then the walk-off wild pitch.
27:42That was after five hitless games and going 4-4 in his previous save chances.
27:47This is a reclamation project for Mike Maddox.
27:50And before Monday's game, it was working out.
27:52But he is the closer.
27:54So you go to the closer even if he blows the game.
27:55Yeah, I mean, the best thing you can do is get him back out there and get some confidence.
28:00But to also, it's a 4-3 game with Stanton at the plate.
28:05Stan has struck out three times tonight.
28:10The shot of Romano when Grisham hit the home run told the story.
28:14He put both of his hands on his head and he wasn't challenging a pitch.
28:18He just couldn't believe that he had given up a lead.
28:30They tighten up the defense.
28:32Teodosio is in left field for low.
28:42Away, away, away in the count.
28:443-0.
28:58In his career, two blown saves against the Yankees, plus a couple of losses in tie games in 20-23.
29:08I'm sure Grinchas is opening a dugout getting loose because if Stanton gets on.
29:22Well, they will probably go to Rosario.
29:25Right.
29:303-2.
29:32Teodosio on the run and leaps and makes the play.
29:37Oh, they put him in for defense and it paid off immediately.
29:41It's all about speed getting this ball and he's got it.
29:45We talked about his elite speed and Stanton hammered this ball.
29:48Just did not elevate it enough.
29:50A tremendous catch.
29:52Bottom of the ninth, you've got something going here.
29:55You just don't understand how little time you have.
29:58Jason has Stanton line drive.
30:02Romano just saved Romano's bacon.
30:08Here's Jazz.
30:10And not only was that speed ball, but I mean, there were hops there.
30:14He showed athleticism to jump and make that play.
30:17Yeah, he's, I mean, speed, playing deep, no doubles, just everything against Stanton because that ball was hammered.
30:33And then it had a little topspin to keep it in the park.
30:40107.5 off the bat to no avail.
30:44One and two as he swings over the slider.
30:47You talk about a good pitch to hit, a hanging slider on the inner half.
30:52And it looked like it fooled him enough where he kind of over swung underneath the ball.
31:03Popped up.
31:07And it drops.
31:09Carraza and Neto looking at each other and it drops.
31:13Have Jazz Chisholm Jr. will reach miscommunication at the wrong time.
31:22Yeah, this is a huge break for the Yankees.
31:25Jazz about halfway to second, elected to stay at first.
31:28Now he has the opportunity to steal if he wants, but obviously just a gimme.
31:33But it looks like I don't want it early.
31:36Then Carraza, you know, didn't know where he was.
31:38The next thing there was, no communication.
31:40But, you know, the shortstop is the captain here.
31:44The center field and the outfield.
31:46This ball has to be caught.
31:50So you have one support defensive play.
31:54And then you pull a rock on a pop-up.
31:57That would have been out number two.
31:58And now, obviously, Jazz Chisholm Jr. is a threat to go.
32:03And it scored a hit.
32:04Oh, Hoppy has thrown out four of 19 attempted base deal or so.
32:08Just a bit over 21%.
32:10Yeah, we've all done it, Michael.
32:12You pop up, you just don't sprint to first base.
32:14You just think it's another out.
32:16And, you know, we've got it caught in the middle of the baseline.
32:18But it's this human nature.
32:23And it drops a slow run for a strike to Austin Wells.
32:27Walsh, one for two with a walk.
32:29Reads on a perfect bunt down the third baseline.
32:31That was in the seventh.
32:33So he's up now as the winning run.
32:35Chisholm is the tying run at first.
32:40There he goes.
32:42Throw to second.
32:45Seven stolen bases of the year for Jazz Chisholm.
32:47And now he's in scoring position.
32:49Yeah, easily in there.
32:50I mean, he had a good pitch to throw on, too.
32:52It's just Jazz got a great jump.
32:53And you know about his speed.
32:55He just beats the baseball at the second base.
33:03Closers a lot.
33:04A lot of the time was slow to the plate.
33:07Power pitchers and Romano knew different.
33:10Now, would he dare go to third?
33:12Now, you see Peraza playing well off the line for the lefty,
33:15swinging well.
33:16So, while Hoppy would have to hit Peraza on the run
33:20to try to get Jazz.
33:21And you say, well, why steal?
33:23With one out, it gives you a huge advantage.
33:25Makes you pull in the infield.
33:27And then you can score in and out or fly ball.
33:33You got to be really sure, obviously.
33:35But right now, with a left-handed hitter up there,
33:38Hoppy has a clear view.
33:39Does not have to throw around the right-handed hitter.
33:42So, the old days you were taught not to try to steal
33:46with a left-hander at the plate.
33:53Three and two.
33:58This ball right here, probably out of the strike zone.
34:01But Romano going with that slider,
34:03he went with a lot of them, the Jazz also.
34:09And Wells calls time.
34:14Nail-biting time here in the Bronx
34:16in front of a crowd of over 40,000.
34:20Yankees had a 3-0 lead after two.
34:23Four unanswered run by the Angels,
34:25and they were up 4-3, bottom of the ninth.
34:28Run on second, one out.
34:30Three-two.
34:32And he walked.
34:36So, now the winning line will be up first.
34:39Yeah, I don't know that that's even a good thing for the Yankees.
34:44I mean, they're questioning the call,
34:45but it looked like it was down and in.
34:49And in the ninth inning,
34:50you might as well try, and that's what they do.
34:53A-B-N-s powered by Team Arbor.
34:54And the call confirmed by Lance Barksdale.
34:57You know, Caballero's been swinging the bat much better,
35:00but that was a good matchup for Wells.
35:02Romano had missed with some sliders against Jazz
35:05by him walking as he took the bat out of his hand.
35:21Rosario comes out on deck to pitch it for McMahon.
35:24Caballero's at the plate.
35:33I'm very surprised that that wasn't reviewed.
35:37He was not shy about tap it as Hellman.
35:40That ball looked like it was kind of down and away.
35:45Here we go again.
35:46He likes to make eye contact with the pitcher.
35:49He's called it every single game this series, Michael.
36:09He's called it every single game this is with the fastball.
36:27The all-inside move.
36:38Jazz leads off second.
36:40Wells off first.
36:45Another good slider in the count, one and two.
37:01Time called
37:04Now an interesting choice
37:06By Boone
37:07If Caballero doesn't walk it off
37:09He is
37:10As we mentioned
37:11Going to go to Rosario
37:13Pinch hitting
37:14For McMahon
37:15So he's going to send righty righty
37:17Instead of leaving the lefty
37:18McMahon to hit
37:26Let's go
37:28Fouled away
37:29He probably had it stolen
37:30Yeah that's very smart by Jazz
37:33He had been just motionless out there
37:35The whole event
37:36And then boom
37:36Let's just take a chance
37:42Austin Wells was
37:43Had a good read
37:44He was right behind him
37:45So he wasn't going to be able to
37:46Throw behind
37:47Jazz
37:53Sam Bachman is up
37:54For the Angels
37:55In their bullpen
38:16Runners go again
38:17Flying into left center field
38:19That's a base hit
38:20That'll tie the score
38:21Wells rounding third
38:23They're sending him home
38:24Here he comes
38:25Here's the throw
38:26He's safe
38:28And the Yankees walk it off
38:30And they win 5-4
38:31Caballero comes through
38:33And base running
38:35Gets the Yankees the victory
38:36All fan is the challenge
38:37And the state called home plate
38:40Before we go crazy Michael
38:41They are going to review this
38:43But again in motion
38:44That's the only reason
38:46Wells gets an opportunity
38:47To score here
38:48This is a big win
38:50And all started with an infield fly ball
38:53That was not caught
38:54By Jazz
38:55An aggressive send
38:58By Luis Rojas
38:59And the play was close
39:01The throw didn't come
39:02Directly home
39:03They never thought he was going to be sent
39:05Yeah
39:06Yeah
39:07Second
39:08First and second
39:09At base hit
39:10And it didn't get to the wall
39:11You're thinking
39:12But let's see
39:12It looked like he got in there
39:15And he did
39:16Let's go over Michael
39:16He's safe
39:19They just show it on the big board
39:21The crowd reacts
39:23And for the second time this series
39:25Romano blows the save
39:27The Yankees come back
39:28In the bottom of the ninth inning
39:33And they win this one five to four
39:38And so that's just confirmed by Lance Barksdale
39:42It was this close at the plate
39:44But with the runners going Paul
39:46That allowed Wells to be able to score
39:48Well the ball was just up the right field line
39:51And not for Wells
39:52But you've got to really credit Wells
39:55And Jazz to be in motion
39:57To have the guts to be in motion
39:59And he absolutely scored on a ball
40:02In the gap that did not get to the wall
40:04Great win
40:05Exciting baseball Michael here in April
40:08So they held a one run yesterday
40:10But this time the Yankees get the five
40:12And the two in the ninth that they needed
40:15And Caballero with the big base hit
40:18Sends it to left center field
40:22And the throw by Neto
40:24Just a bit up the first baseline
40:26Probably cost him the play
40:27No doubt about it
40:28Ball's up there
40:29Catcher has to reach back
40:30But you know when you're struggling
40:32And the Yankees have been struggling
40:33You need wins like this
40:35You need breaks like this
40:36Jazz Chisholm
40:37An infield fly ball drops
40:40The Yankees take it
40:41And take it home for a win
40:43And let's take it downstairs
40:44To Meredith Marakovich
40:45Who's down on the field
40:46With the hero
40:46Jose Caballero
40:47Thank you Michael
40:48Jose how's that for drama
40:50I just saw you give
40:50Austin Wells a big hug
40:52Any doubt in your mind
40:53That he was safe at home plate
40:55No doubt
40:55No doubt in my mind
40:56He was hustling
40:58And he paid off
41:00You know
41:00How much do you like being up
41:02In those situations
41:03With the game on the line
41:04I love it
41:05That's the moments I want to be in
41:06And God bless me today again
41:09Take me through your approach
41:10Against Romano there
41:12With runners on first and second
41:13You know
41:15He's a great guy
41:16He's a great pitcher
41:17He's been great for
41:18Quite a bit
41:19And I was just looking
41:21For something up
41:22And trying to avoid
41:24Chasing down
41:25That's all
41:26And I could deliver
41:27You faced him
41:28In game one of this series
41:30You doubled off of him
41:31How much did seeing him
41:32Just a couple days ago
41:33Help you throughout that at bat
41:35It definitely helped me
41:36Because I don't have many
41:38Come on that feels good right
41:45Oh that feels great
41:47Woo
41:49Wow
41:49I needed that
41:50It was kind of hot out here
41:53I love it
41:54Hey earlier in that inning
41:56It looked like there was
41:56A second out
41:57When the ball drops
41:58In between Neto and Peraza
42:00Did you feel
42:01The tide kind of turn
42:02A little bit for you guys
42:03Did you get some more energy there
42:04When things get rolling
42:06To our side
42:08We are dangerous
42:09And what is it about this team
42:10It seems like you guys
42:11Come on oftentimes
42:12So strong late in the game
42:14You know
42:16When it's out out there
42:17We have a chance
42:19Well Jose
42:20Congratulations
42:21I'll let you go try off
42:22Thank you man
42:23Michael we'll send it back up to you
42:25All right thank you Meredith
42:27Let's take a look at this swing
42:28Paul that gave the Yankees
42:29The victory
42:30Caballero sends it into left center field
42:33Huge at bat
42:34I mean here he is against
42:35A right handed power closer
42:38And he puts it into left field gap
42:39Runners in motion
42:41Exciting way
42:42To win a game
42:43Well that was scored
42:45A single
42:45A walk off
42:46Two run single
42:47As the Yankees win
42:48Five to
42:49Five to four
42:50It took two hours and twenty three minutes
42:52So a quick one
42:53Bednar with that great ninth
42:54Gets the win
42:55Romano his second loss
42:56In three days
42:57Trot had another home run
42:59Judge had a home run
