00:44it on board as uh leclerc then goes past him ala uh album did absolutely nothing wrong
00:52bollard would be the word summed up in one word martin brundle for you ladies and gentlemen
00:58right ted down to you i'm looking at uh over at the ferrari pit wall and they're discussing things
01:03it looks like leclerc's tires are just going crofty we saw that mclaren has kept their great
01:09advantage in keeping tires alive these tires medium tires and we expect a shower in two to three laps
01:17and we want to survive it potentially coming first on sector to sector yeah it's just skirting the
01:23north of the circuit and as a the radar suggests it will only be a shower but the tires are
01:28just
01:28giving up on the ferrari of charles leclerc and norris and piastri keeping their tires in great
01:33condition sector two by the way from turn eight to turn 16 if you are trying to visualize the
01:41racetrack here in miami and that's turn eight you're looking at now karoon they've just told
01:47lando norris they expect the rain to come later now lap 40 he's will joseph has said we're going
01:52to try and extend on these medium tires until then so don't expect pit stops anytime soon they've just
01:59got to manage it lando says it all feels good in the car not surprised he's done a 32 to
02:04first sector
02:05that's half a second or more faster than the four drivers behind him he's absolutely flying out there
02:11lando norris yeah it's not going to be hurting kimmy antonelli much being behind him either because
02:15he's got some clean air given lando norris's pace and charles leclerc has dropped off uh by nearly four
02:22seconds to the front two as we watch portoleto getting past arvid limblad oh that was very very
02:29close indeed but he think i think he's made that move stick down at turn 12 and he's up in
02:35the 13th
02:36place as we watch from the rear of charles leclerc's car oscar piastri starting to get that much closer
02:43to him as well yeah karoon reminding me sky race control track temperature 13 degrees cooler than
02:50pretty much at any time we've seen in practice qualifying and sprint and what have you
02:55the incidents involving max verstappen who is being investigated for failing to cross the line
03:01at the pit lane exit is going to be investigated after the race i'm just going to say this i
03:07don't
03:08understand why there's a race going on it's like showing someone a red card after the 90 minutes has
03:13ended in a football match if there's a penalty do it now so that the driver and the team have
03:18a chance
03:18to recover and everyone knows what's going on because it's not like a wheel-to-wheel contact
03:24he either did cross it or he didn't cross it absolutely and and if and when verstappen gets
03:30involved with uh any fights later on or for the podium or what have you or tangles with another car
03:37then i i did i thought the fi had got remote uh control facilities looking at these in depth
03:44and able to and unless it's just not crystal clear from the images they've got
03:50he flicked across the end of the line from but it's really hard from the on-board camera you have
03:55to look at those things from the off-board camera but i agree with you you know if if you're
04:01leaving
04:01the player on the pitch and he's done something wrong you really ought to address it and also
04:05what's max going to say if he goes to see the stewards did you cross the line no no not
04:09at all
04:09that's not going to add or detract anyway from the investigation come on let's get decisions like
04:15that decided here comes max verstappen on franco colopinto eighth place for verstappen currently
04:22but i doubt for much longer because he's got much more pace uh than uh than the colopinto has box

04:29is the call uh to george russell who's in for a pit stop from fifth in this race and there
04:35goes max
04:35verstappen down the inside on franco colopinto and while that happens the stewards are also looking
04:41at the verstappen album move a few laps ago that album thought he was being squeezed and then squeezed
04:47into the bollard so it's like a max verstappen season ticket it's uh stewards hq at the moment
04:53but but album was comfortably clear so outlap critical says uh his team to george russell i guess
05:01they're they're not reacting to are they reacting to verstappen here potentially yeah so um it's important
05:09that russell comes out and gets into some uh some clear air he's ahead of uh portoletto he's got a
05:16lot of work to do there with traffic i think what they're also saying is you might be a bit
05:19vulnerable
05:20to maybe hamilton uh who was uh behind you or others who might want to stop the undercut is slightly
05:25more powerful here uh than the uh the overcut so they've triggered it first and hoping that george
05:31russell not in terms of trying to uh gain the place uh preserves the place by stopping a bit earlier
05:36for fresh tires george is going to go straight into two hases and two williams that are having a good
05:42squad ball um and of course rain skirting the track as well they obviously think like mclaren
05:48is further away but leclerc is reacting then ferrari reacting to that pit stop well i hope the
05:54the weather radar is is working right for these teams because you're taking a slight chance if it
06:00is going to rain and you are going to need intermediates but charles leclerc comes in it's norris
06:04santanelli piastri and hamilton now the top four max verstapper moves up to fifth neat stop there for
06:10charles leclerc 3.7 seconds now right front was slow off so that's why that was in the threes and
06:16not the twos well that there might just help this car here in the bottom of your screen george russell
06:22has george russell managed to get past charles leclerc here he has you know and it was only by a
06:28couple
06:28tenths of a second and that 3.7 second stop has not helped charles leclerc who has lost out
06:34in the pit stop to george russell yeah they were covering off russell uh but is yeah if you watch
06:40it again the right front was very slow coming away uh and then the rest of the pit stop was
06:45okay
06:46but that's cost him track position um but they seem to be it seems odd doesn't it pit now if
06:52they think
06:53there's going to be rain any moment now yeah it could be a wasted pit stop so verstappen then 16
06:58seconds off the lead now lapping in the 133s and um no further investigation between albon and
07:07verstappen at turn 18 i think that's absolutely right russell gets past ocon why did we stop
07:14when is the rate yeah
07:18no answer we'll find out an answer a bit later on that was a good move from george russell at
07:23the
07:23right time she's put a bit more distance between himself and charles leclerc here because esteban
07:28ocon is holding up charles leclerc a bit going through that tight twisty section before turn 16
07:33leclerc will finally get past but look how many car lengths he has lost martin in that particular moment
07:39no but this is the traffic i said that russell was coming out into two hasses and two williams
07:43they won't fight like crazy but you've still got to get past them and they know it's not their race
07:48today here's your weather radar looking at those green splodges and the yellows and the reds to see
07:54where the rain is and george russell has now got himself uh tucked up right behind ollie behrman
08:00uh in the hat so he's down in 10th place having made his pit stop uh behrman in ninth we're
08:05on board
08:05with george russell that's an easy pass on fresher tires from the house so obviously mercedes think he's
08:11not going to be slowed down too much but he's lapping at the moment george russell 132.6
08:16so possible rain in the next couple of laps should affect turn seven and eight first could get heavy
08:24we need to know before you tip it into turn seven if it's wet there's not much space on the
08:30outside
08:30there down near the marina uh the fake marina that is but uh it does look lovely down there
08:36yeah you you absolutely do not want to arrive in turn seven to find it has already started raining
08:43just making his way through the traffic karoon he is still pumping in the lap times george russell
08:49compared to our race leader lando norris and the likes of oscar piastri and lewis hamilton
08:54yeah his race engineer marcus dudley's just giving him a bit of a cheer up

09:04yeah i want a committee here yeah and if you look at it russell with those quick outlap stop he's
09:09cleared
09:10piastri by a second they've just told him so he will end up potentially in that in that podium
09:15position it did seem curious that they they pitted him i mean what he's angry about is he's lost
09:22position and he's in traffic and they're struggling to get through the traffic and still then uh george
09:27russell has not cleared uh the williams of alex album this is costing them a lot of time i think
09:35it's also costing charlotte claire more time uh that 3.7 seconds that he was stationary uh that that
09:42that really has cost him in terms of places on the track and time lost trying to feed your way
09:48through
09:48it and because of all this you can understand why mclaren are staying out you know you're you're
09:53leading the race and in the terms of piastri you're also third you don't want to give up too much
09:57track
09:57position from there no you don't so uh you've got to assume that how dirty it is offline and still
10:04russell's not able to make it happen can he steam up the inside air on the brakes with the extra
10:08grip
10:09he's got yes he can but it just is losing them time it's using up their tires and uh it's
10:15really i mean
10:16the williams are going quite nicely in the race ted's got an update for us is that some team radio
10:22sorry i just heard the beats it's a text okay what did it say it's a small rain cell above
10:27us but it's
10:28only light yes it is so whichever engineer said lap 25 spot on crate of champagne to that uh engineer
10:34because there is a little a few little spots of rain here in the pit lane uh i can just
10:39see it coming
10:40down and uh but it does seem to be coming from the southwest downtown miami and it's just going to
10:46pass over us so that's not to mention the rain that's coming later in the race but for now
10:50those people staying out norris antonelli pier piastri hamilton right move so far cheers ted
10:56charlotte claire has cleared alex albon up into uh ninth currently lando norris has a gap of about
11:03two and a half seconds out in front and then there's a gap from antonelli to about eight and a
11:07half seconds back to oscar piastri who's losing about six tenths to his teammate uh lap by lap he hasn't
11:14got the speed of lando norris uh here in miami this year lewis hamilton currently runs in fourth
11:20and he's lapping in the one minute 34s max for stafford is in fifth and is gaining on lewis
11:25hamilton yeah so max is it might be 17 seconds off the lead but he's a dozen seconds ahead of
11:32russell
11:33and leclerc that's what it's cost him getting through that traffic max of course pitted and he's now 18 laps
11:38into his run on those tires but uh no wonder charlotte claire's angry he's he's losing time
11:45he's in traffic and he at one point it appeared to me almost comfortably leading this race
11:51and here he is down in ninth it all might turn around though and the rain might turn things around
11:58a bit now they got the tires up to a nice temperature will uh fresher rubber uh with a
12:04decent temperature be better than old tires that have done 25 laps so far in the case of norris and
12:10antonelli and still watch for snapping here because he's made his pit stop and he's only 17 seconds off
12:16the lead and as i say gaining on lewis hamilton or charlotte claire is keeping tabs with george russell
12:22antonelli just starting to catch norris as well a little bit norris in completely clear air
12:27so uh that fight is not over but it's beginning to be a two horse race this one is there
12:34is that a bit
12:34of rain that we can see around the circuit i think i think it is and moving in towards the
12:41s's uh section
12:43uh after this long long left-hander here so lap 26 of 57 lando norris leads the reigning world champion
12:55uh who hadn't let in any format this season before the sprint race yesterday is out in front but
13:02kimmy antonelli has been closing him a bit there goes max verstappen down the inside on lewis hamilton
13:07he's got that damage from the earlier contact of course with franco colopinto that is halting his
13:12progress a little bit during this race i'm sure those rear tires will be overheating by now they
13:17definitely were in the sprint race yesterday but verstappen is right on him fortoleto has been told
13:22this light rain will last for about five laps the drivers we're not hearing complaining too much
13:27about the conditions on the track but flippy flappy wings on both the ferrari and the red bull
13:33that's spin around 180 degrees reducing the drag and that red bull in a straight line
13:39has the power to make the lunge and verstappen lunges down the inside on lewis hamilton and for the
13:46second time this weekend close battle from those two and verstappen comes out in front antonelli has
13:50pitted antonelli pits from second place comes out behind verstappen but of course verstappen 20 laps in
13:57to those tires yeah he will come out just ahead of franco colopinto and that will be important to
14:04kimmy antonelli but they've decided now they think they can guess or best guess what the rain's doing
14:11it's a good time to make some pit stops uh ollie behrman's coming into the pits as well will lando
14:16norris respond straight away to at least protect his position ahead of kimmy antonelli because what
14:23he doesn't want is to wait a few laps here martin brundle and come out behind the mercedes
14:27he doesn't want to pitch just as it starts to rain either but it's certainly you wouldn't even
14:31there's nothing out there suggesting even dream of putting intermediates on forget the wets they will not
14:37use those at any point today but the only time the wets are necessary it'd be a safety car anyway
14:42for
14:42visibility so and they they're almost passengers on any given weekend but um and norris yeah norris is
14:50going to respond i think he has to respond karoon yeah they've said to him now give it all you've
14:55got
14:55on this lap max verstappen could end up in the lead of this race because at the moment 17 seconds
15:00as you
15:00say do mclaren double stack though crofty watch out piastri is 13 seconds behind they do have time to
15:06double stack if they want yeah he's 10 seconds clear of his teammates so that's plenty of time
15:11i don't see another set of tires there though it looks like oh lando they did a good job there
15:17because land lando went long piastri stays out hamilton pits but uh yeah he went a little bit
15:23long there lando but uh these are key moments very key moments for the grand prix lewis hamilton coming
15:30into the pits lando norris making his way out onto the uh track and he is very we're watching lewis
15:35hamilton
15:36of the pit lane but it is so close there we are antonelli and uh norris and antonelli with his
15:42tires
15:42up to heat here might just have been got ahead he has gone ahead of lando norris that was the
15:48key
15:48battle there they responded straight away mclaren but antonelli put in a decent out lap and it was
15:54quick enough to get that track position ahead of the man who was leading the race here we go then
15:59uh so
16:01yeah it was uh you have to say mercedes blink first came in and it's put them given them great
16:09track position hamilton's pitted oscar we're gonna pick cover him use the pace now use the pace
16:15so get a move on oscar uh who finds himself leading uh this uh race uh currently but right behind
16:23it
16:23verstappen antonelli and norris who have pitted the key the key thing to ask here is how long
16:29can max verstappen go can he go to the end on these hard tires will he have the pace at
16:34the end of the
16:35race on these hard tires because he will in a moment be leading this race he will but look at
16:40this pair
16:41right on his tail i don't think he'll be leading it for long frankly because they're you know on their
16:44fresh tires they ought and with overtake mode that they get uh as they cross the yellow line gives them
16:50a
16:50little bit more speed and power for the next lap um i don't think max will have too many answers
16:57to
16:57to this bed look at anthony's um sleep anthony's under pressure here norris a bit of boost button
17:03coming uh into that first corner almost alongside him and this will protect verstappen's lead while
17:11these two are battling away yeah you can just see the differences in how they sort of use their energy
17:16in any given straight or lap but while they squabble you're right max is out front feeling uh the extra
17:24grip of the fresh air nobody's disturbing here in front of him but he's really punished those tires
17:30for 22 laps hasn't he coming back through the fields and he still might have a penalty coming his way
17:35don't forget for crossing the line at the ends of the pit lane that's going to be investigated after
17:41the race he's not leading this race anymore kimmy antonelli gets past him he might be third coming out
17:46of this next corner no he protects that line against lando norris antonelli making the move before turn
17:5311 norris is now going to be frustrated for four corners yeah that's painful for for norris he needs
17:58to get passed down the back straight if he can he should have better traction out of here than the
18:03red bull in front of him and then a bit of slipstream and a bit of extra power let the
18:09red bull ford
18:10motor has been pretty genius but look at the mclaren coming at him there's nothing verstappen can
18:16do about that he moves to the middle of the track tries to make it as hard as he can
18:19will he try to
18:20lunge back yes he will at which point norris will tuck underneath him and then presumably in turn 17 and
18:2818 grabs the high ground and does exactly that but we still got to pay attention all the way down
18:35into turn one and lando's uh wise enough these days to know that max was going to come back at
18:41it
18:41wouldn't he yeah he's learned a lot in the last couple of years as lando norris since he won a
18:45world
18:45title as well and he was very patient and we're on board now with uh charles leclerc who's just been
18:51passed and re-passed by george russell so russell in fifth leclerc now down in six he just got ahead
18:57of
18:57russell uh for a brief moment but russell's now uh past him and these two you know are uh are
19:04going
19:04to be trading positions i think between now and the chequered flag antonelli leads from norris from
19:11verstappen from colopinto who is yet to pit uh to remind you then comes russell and leclerc and uh
19:18piastri who have all pitted hamilton in eighth ocon and bortoletto ninth and tenth they have not
19:24made a pit stop yet this is a replay of oscar piastri's uh pit stop and that front right took
19:31a couple of goes to get off and he will have lost half a second at least because of that
19:37valtteri bottas has got a drive-through penalty to let you know for speeding in the pit lane one of
19:42the
19:42few decisions that seems to be being made during the race today uh ocon albon and alonso their yellow
19:48flag infringements will be investigated after the race charles leclerc on george russell now down the
19:53back straight we go you can see oscar piastri in the distance behind these two it worked well
19:59didn't it mercedes did well to get russell in early and give him the track position it's brought him a
20:04little bit back uh more into play as uh valtteri bottas gets a drive-through penalty for speeding in
20:11the pit lane so that's about 20 seconds pain he's going to take there leclerc's coming back at russell
20:18there you go george russell thought about defending that one for a moment absolutely no chance because
20:24leclerc was blasting past him and yet another overtake here as leclerc moves up into the top
20:30five it's a net four with colopinto still needing to pit fastest man on the track is oscar piastri
20:35george russell is now getting back on terms uh with charles leclerc whilst his teammate is about a second and
20:41a
20:41half out in front lando norris has cleared max verstappen by about two and a half seconds uh 24
20:48laps old uh verstappen's tires and his teammate isaac hadjar has come back to the pit wall he clipped the
20:55wall and then went straight on into the next one and he was the first driver to retire from this
21:00race
21:00we've lost gasly as well and lawson and hulkenberg yeah actually that's a stonking lap from him into
21:06one minute 31s there and that's a second and a half quicker than leclerc and russell ahead of him
21:12colopinto who hasn't pitted yet as you say up there in p4 but as soon as antinelli and norris were
21:20past verstappen their best part of two seconds a lap faster it was a gamble by red ball verstappen was
21:28down in 16th when they pitted behind the uh the safety car it's a gamble that doesn't at the moment
21:33seem to be paying off but let's remember he was eighth though before he pitted wasn't he because
21:37of the spin so he was eight pitted and went back to 16. um so uh because because of the
21:44spin uh he
21:45was already sort of down a bit and colopinto finally pits which i'm sure he will be very very glad
21:53of
21:54on board with the uh mclaren of lando norris what does he do here just sit patiently uh wait for
22:02any
22:02potential mistakes or at some stage think right i'm gonna have to go for this because
22:08kimmy antinelli once he gets in front has uh has looked pretty handy has certainly had paced this
22:14weekend but then yeah so have i when i've been in front it's uh i think that mclaren's got pretty
22:19good longevity on its tires hasn't it we saw it in the sprint we've seen it so far in this
22:23grand prix
22:23lando is going to be sitting there feeling mildly confident actually he's been able to catch and pass the
22:29mercedes i don't know how many times so many overtakes but um yeah i said before the pit stop
22:37started it was sort of becoming a two horse race and it still very much is between these two we've
22:43had
22:43five different leaders of the race today uh we've had leclerc we've had norris we've had piastri
22:48we've had verstappen and we've currently got kimmy antinelli uh zach brown uh watching as his man
22:54oscar piastri gains on george russell and hoping the other man can gain on kimmy antinelli a lot
23:00can play out between now and the checkered flag i think zach uh it's been a very exciting race so
23:05far and i think this race is far from over in what ways in what way zach what do you
23:11think mean by
23:11that uh i think lando's got the pace of uh kimmy uh oscar's got some great pace here so i
23:17think
23:17uh we've seen what five five different leaders uh i think we got a race on our hands uh any
23:24more rain
23:24forecasts that could uh interrupt things could be but it looks like it's starting to diminish now that
23:31is the best news we as neutrals could have heard thanks ever so much zach back with you in a
23:36little
23:36while george russell uh very much under pressure here from oscar piastri whose tires are about eight
23:42laps fresher and he's now within about four tenths of the uh mercedes marslando norris has just reduced
23:50the arrears by about a tenth of a second on kimmy antinelli on this particular lap look how close
23:55piastri is now uh to george russell the mclaren seems really good on the hard compound white marked
24:01tires doesn't it it seems really well balanced it's flying along into both marbles on the outside
24:06there you wouldn't want to be going off there in a hurry but do you think there's not been a
24:10lot of
24:10there's not been a lot of degradation but there's clearly quite a lot of wear isn't there on the
24:14tires uh it's one gearbox i have problem with the paddle problem with the paddle i think is what
24:24kimmy antinelli was saying there on the gearbox um and lando norris is continuing uh to reduce the
24:31gap uh slightly just by a tenth here or a tenth there back up to 1.1 seconds now as
24:37they make their way
24:38out of that hairpin here comes oscar piastri though on uh george russell and he is definitely gaining
24:42on george russell as the back marker gets lapped going into turn 17 but we kind of get the feeling
24:48this is not where you want to make the overtake today you want to stick light glue to the rear
24:53wing of the car in front and chase him all the way down the main straight towards turn one braking
24:58zones a bit length of the bit in 2026 is it long enough for piastri to make the lunge no
25:03it is not
25:03and whatever was going on in the gearbox with kimmy antinelli seems to have been fixed uh on this lap
25:09because he's extending that advantage over lando norris one mclaren chasing another here's another
25:15mclaren uh chasing uh mercedes and soto wolf watching on whoever emerges triumphant in those two battles at
25:22least he's going to be in charge of the engine that's powering us oscar piastri looks altogether happier now
25:27on these tires in this phase of the grand prix antinelli's been back on the radio again saying
25:32a problem with the throttle as well apparently so uh yeah it looks like it's sort of beginning to turn
25:40towards mclaren's favor doesn't it certainly at the moment kimmy antinelli's favor the youngest
25:48driver first teenager ever to lead the world championship is uh is pulling away from george
25:54russell at the top of those standings we we did wonder how he would handle the pressure of being
25:59a championship leader when he returned to racing so far so good martin absolutely so you can see
26:05leclerc he came through the picture in his ferrari he is ahead of these two but george will be wise
26:11enough to know how to use his excess or any battery but he has to go defensive this time around
26:17and keep
26:18the mclaren on the outside piastri will duck underneath will he have better traction no he
26:24won't well he's got fresher tires by about eight laps george made a very good fist to getting out of
26:30that corner but he is closer this time piastri to george russell and he's definitely going to go for it
26:34into turn one oscar piastri gets past the mercedes and there's no chance to duck under from george russell
26:41and retake that fifth place piastri's through that's exactly what you want to see you want to see
26:45whatever tools they got whether it was drs or we used to have over boost on our turbos whatever
26:51bring bring the overtake into play but the driver's got to finish it off that's what you want to see
26:57and that's what we saw there and he finished with aplomb lando norris has taken four tenths out of
27:03kimmy antonelli's advantage in the first sector of this latest lap while he carries on ted's got news from
27:08the pit lane but i've asked mercedes and they say they think it's okay now they think it is the
27:14gearbox and
27:15the paddle martin even though it sounded like throttle two seconds ted george russell's going
27:20for it at turn 11 and has re-got that position from oscar piastri so he's getting wise to the
27:26tactics in 2026 and oscar piastri is going to have to try again and find another route through quickly
27:32back to you ted but mercedes saying don't worry about it it looks okay for now so don't worry about
27:36kimmy that looks all right whatever this paddle problem is normally paddle problem for a formula one
27:42driver is not being able to find a course so that you can practice the new sport they all like
27:47but
27:47yeah it's not a paddle problem kimmy antonelli wants but here goes uh oscar piastri on george
27:52russell wants more and this little battle continues on he's decided piastri we can go for it down at
27:59turn 17. will he keep ahead lando norris is still gaining on kimmy antonelli he's the fastest man
28:05on the track setting a new uh uh fastest lap during the course of this race piastri's got seven
28:12tenths advantage over george russell antonelli's got an eight tenths advantage over lando norris
28:18yeah norris as you say fastest lap he's also within a second now he's within the overtake
28:22facility and but the measuring point as i told you before is on the exit of the hip and at
28:28the end of
28:29the back straight but a bit of traffic coming up uh stroll and then perez coming up for the two
28:35challenging for the lead and this is a pretty technical tricky little section stroll gets out
28:41of the way of both of them stroll's teammate fernando alonso by the way the only driver still
28:47who hasn't pitted in this race he's run his mediums for 34 laps now uh they're waiting for some rain
28:53maybe uh or a potential safety car to make that stop uh russell and piastri getting very very close
28:59but this time piastri stays ahead whilst we ride on board with lando norris and he can see uh the
29:05blinking lights of kimmy antonelli's mercedes ahead of him but it stays ahead of him and it's too far
29:11for lando to make a move you see lando turning in really early when he's in the turbulent area of
29:16the
29:20world and uh yeah again then they're nine seconds clear of verstappen in third place now who's
29:27starting to hurt a little bit with his tires the clear will be coming out for stop and dragging piastri
29:33and russell with him i would imagine if yes if verstappen tries to hang on to these tires that's going
29:38to be a good fight towards the closing stages of this grand prix lewis hamilton uh 26 seconds behind
29:45now down in seventh place carrying that damage he said in the beginning of the
29:49race i don't think i could race like this but he's hung on to it hasn't he stayed with it
29:53yeah he's got that 11 second gap back to franco colapinto so he should be okay to preserve that
29:59seventh place but it's 20 or so laps to go uh in this race uh behind colapinto carlos science behind
30:06him alex albon williams on the course at the moment so scoring double points and well that will be
30:12a decent morale boost for everyone down at grove car shaved a bit of weight and has looked much handier
30:18here in miami it did look when we saw verstappen trying to pass the williams they were really going
30:22along nicely weren't they my ears are gone man like they're dropping by the bits again it's just
30:30temper give me just temp get the temperature under control you should be okay they've only been on for
30:35ten laps yeah so that's bono saying look just so just squeeze the throttle don't let the rear of the
30:42car move around too much the problem he's got is that orange car in his mirrors but um that's bono

30:50honda calm down you know what you need to do you just got to control the surface temperature of those
30:55tires of the rear tires which of course are transmitting all the power same power unit in
31:00these two cars the mercedes power unit and uh lando we know is very good in these uh situations of
31:08looking after your tires got so much more experience than antonelli in that respect but antonelli has
31:13track position and has clear air in front of him yeah which does make still a massive distance difference
31:20especially in temperatures such as this it's not as hot here as it was yesterday for instance but it's
31:25still 28 degrees air temperature and it's still a lot of heat uh going through uh these uh air intake
31:32boxes when you're behind a car in front and i think lando there just pulled out to demonstrate that point
31:38to the left hand side to get a bit of cooler air uh through his car yeah absolutely otherwise you're
31:45driving through the hot air discarded off the car in front as well so careful not to clip that wall

31:50hadjar did it's very easy to do like clipping a barrier in monaco actually through there and again
31:56then now so they're they're well clear this pair if it's dry to the end of the grand prix they
32:01won't
32:01need to stop again this is a straight fight for this grand prix between the teenager and the reigning world
32:08champion car number one against car number 12. kimmy antonelli out in front and lando norris staying
32:17through that overtake mode detection zone within that one second and that is helping uh keep him
32:23in touch a little bit as well talking of keeping in touch only bearman is starting to gain now on

32:28albon or has continued to gain on alex albon in the battle for the last points place lando moves out
32:34of
32:34the slipstream every chance he gets now for the looks of it to just keep his car cool no fans
32:39on these
32:39cars it's only very cool by going through the air so you um you don't want if you're constantly
32:45traveling in the hot air of another car your car overheaves the fans are all around the side of
32:51the racetrack it's a sellout crowd uh here today uh at the miami international autodrome they've been
32:57treated to an absolute thriller it has to be said this is the battle for first place verstappen
33:04currently in the podium uh spots his last lap was a 133 one charleclair was a couple of tenths faster
33:11but
33:11only a couple of tenths faster piastri continues to gain on uh charles leclerc he was four tenths
33:17faster on the previous lap and four tenths faster in the first sector of this current lap behind
33:23piastri george russell has just dropped back a bit from the mclaren ted down to you so a couple of
33:28things uh first of all verstappen's tires holding up very well if they were going to make a second
33:34stop i think they probably do it in the next few laps i think they probably could stretch it to
33:38the end
33:39and showing how uh how resilient these tires are still fernando alonso alonso's teammate lance stroll
33:46has done two stops before fernando's even done one so fernando really looking after uh those tires very
33:53well yes nursing them like he's paid for them seven mercedes-powered cars in the top 10 at the moment
34:01telling you that uh with these regulations and with the changes that have just recently been made before
34:07this event mercedes are still very much acing it but uh verstappo going along nicely too with his red
34:13build powertrain
34:18concentration in the cockpit of lando norris rather likes uh this circuit won the sprint race uh yesterday
34:26won the grand prix here in 2024 where he started fifth on the grid today he started fourth he's currently
34:32running in second place mclaren with some big upgrades uh have come back to take the fight to
34:38mercedes but mercedes are very much still out in front still holding on to their advantage as the top
34:45constructor and team in formula one and their big upgrade is to come in montreal next time out that
34:51could be worth that upgrade anything between and a half a second six tenths of a second if the reports
34:56are to be believed so is lando biding his time sitting there working out where antonelli's fast
35:03where he's not quite so fast or is he hanging on i just don't know uh he's certainly gapping back
35:12but
35:13we have seen him trying to cool his car down a little bit so maybe there's a long way to
35:17go yet maybe he's
35:18happy being a little bit further behind uh still a back marker uh needs to be uh needs to be
35:25laps
35:26antonelli on fernando alonso and he gets that move done uh before turn one and alonso i think keeps
35:32out of the way of antonelli uh into the first corner but norris gained about four tenths in that
35:39particular move yeah fernando he knows what it happened is to win races and to win championships and
35:48not get not have it spoiled by back markers he's not in a fast car he is absolutely not going
35:53to
35:53bother and not going to get in anybody's way it's exactly what you'd expect of a true pro isn't it
35:58absolutely it's just it's where you come across the back and influence things by a tenth or a tenth there
36:05last lap we saw lando norris make up a fair amount during the final sector in the middle sector
36:12antonelli seems to be uh holding his own if not bettering the mclaren elsewhere behind these who's
36:21making moves who's got the pace hamilton comfortably holding off franco colopinto in terms of lap times
36:27at the moment for hamilton was about three tenths faster on the uh the previous lap ollie bearman's
36:33about a tenth quicker than alex albon in that battle for the last uh points place science is well ahead
36:38uh of his teammates uh albon forzoleto is gaining on esteban ocon he's not within a second
36:45uh as yet and fernando alonso still waits uh for that pit stop right lando we haven't had a lead

36:52for a while let's let's let's get some uh let's get some wheel to wheel action going at the very
37:00front of the grand prix but antonelli seems to sort of update of the step and done 34 laps on
37:10the heart
37:10so we're doing 33.5 at the moment we are forecast to catch him by the end of the race
37:17four tenths of difference between verstappen and russell on lap 40 and as russell crosses the line
37:25he's just gone uh significantly quicker actually by about nine tenths of a second uh to max verstappen
37:31i wonder if those tires have gone off the cliff a little bit martin 35 laps he's done as i
37:36mentioned
37:37earlier it was about 36 laps the biggest thing we had on those hard tires last year well we've seen
37:42how
37:42feisty max has been all day in attack and defense i'm quite looking forward to leclerc piastri and
37:48russell catching him karoon's got more information yeah i think he's gone off the cliff a bit hasn't
37:54he max he's lost three seconds to leclerc in the last four laps so he's uh he's done a lot
