00:00with the fastball here's jazz
00:10Chisholm Jr. Leonard second two
00:12outs want to know jazz walked in
00:18the second game round the score
00:22we're in the bottom of the third
00:23third game of a four game set
00:26between the Yankees and the
00:27Angels Yankees one game one
00:28Angels 1 7 1 last night now the
00:31Yankees up 3 1 in game 3 1 and 1
01:02it's funny if you see what jazz
01:04is doing at the plate and it's
01:05all because of that zero in the
01:07homerun column you you really need
01:10the ball out over the plate a
01:11little bit to really get to the
01:12barrel and unless you're really
01:14quick that the ball inside is the
01:15one you think you could pull I
01:17mean that ball right there really
01:19the only way you're going to hit
01:20it hard is to hammer it foul which
01:22he did because you're so
01:23conscious about the inside part
01:25of the plate because you know you
01:26can drive that ball out of the
01:27ballpark one to swing and a miss
01:34jazz down on strikes while the
01:36double is wasted Bollinger
01:38stranded at second we go to the
01:39fourth to buy Toyota the
01:47official hybrid vehicles of the
01:48Yankees tonight's picture is of
01:51William who is looking forward to
01:53his first game here at the
01:54stadium later this season well we
01:57have a great time William I hope
01:59it's soon use the hashtag Toyota
02:01Pitchstrike Pride post your
02:03pictures social media to reflect
02:04your love for the Yankees and you
02:06know what we might spotlight you in
02:07a future game like you did Billy I
02:09can call you Billy right we know
02:10each other dude now you just said
02:13his name on the air right Joe
02:17Adele takes outside from Louis
02:19you see it was we start hitting
02:21number four can we can we try I
02:33don't want to put you on the spot
02:34yeah can we tell the fist bump
02:36story so I don't know I've known
02:39Paul for over 35 years and he he
02:44spits out a story as we're sitting
02:46together before the I'd never heard
02:48before and it's life-changing when
02:51it comes to baseball so Paul please
02:53tell us you know what I don't know
02:54about the first right I'm telling
02:56you I remember it and then I saw a
02:58lot of people do it so the first
02:59time I got a game-winning hit right
03:01right Mattingly head busts me with a
03:03bill of his hat splits my nose so I'm
03:05I that's it so now my hand hurts like
03:07two weeks later right all right and I
03:10hit a home run and he goes to like
03:12slap me high five well my hands killing
03:14me right so I tuck my fingers and I
03:16gave him a little kind of a little
03:17fist bump and from then on cap and I
03:21kind of fist bumped up now I'm not
03:22saying I invented it but I do remember
03:26being like the first one to do it I'm
03:28saying you invented it right here he
03:30invented the fist bump out of the
03:32necessity and that means if I did it
03:35it happened a long time ago
03:39Adele swings and misses all these
03:41years and I've never heard you tell
03:42that story well you were talking
03:44about something else and you know
03:45that that's the way my mind works it
03:47goes back to a story about baseball
03:48I mean since I've been 12 that's
03:50about all I know so he had high five
03:52you and he hurt you hurt you by
03:54hitting you so hard and so you're
03:56trying to protect it close your fist
03:57and I just closed my fist and gave
03:59him a little sissy bump and then it
04:01became like a cool thing all in one
04:07on Moncada one and one Moncada
04:20with a fly ball center in the second
04:23sweating over here you got me
04:25nervous but I'm telling the stories
04:26from the old day love the old days
04:44and a strike swing and a miss Moncada
04:47down on strikes now from a great
04:49story from Paul with Peraza coming
04:52up Merritt has an equally great
04:54story well Mike last we know he was
04:57signed by the Yankees in 2017 out of
05:00Venezuela and he never really reached
05:02his full potential in pinstripes
05:04last night however three for three
05:06with a home run and a walk Aaron
05:08Boone told me after the game he
05:10absolutely killed us he was right in
05:12the middle of all of it Peraza was
05:14asked after the game if there were
05:15any hard feelings getting traded at
05:17the deadline no longer being a Yankee
05:19and he said I get it it's baseball
05:21but it's also business I'm with the
05:24Angels right now and though a lot of
05:26my first memories were here in the
05:27Bronx I'm happy where I'm at right now
05:29and every day now we noticed the
05:31offense yesterday something that we
05:33never saw consistently when he was
05:35with the Yankees he did say he made a
05:37little bit of a tweak this spring
05:38where he changed his stance a little
05:40bit that allows him to be a bit more
05:42in control of his body we'll see how
05:44that plays out the rest of the season
05:45but he did mention it is nice to be
05:48back nice to see some of his former
05:49teammates but he's very aware he's
05:52wearing Angels over across his chest
05:54right now thank you Merrick then
05:56remember there was a battle between
05:58Peraza and Volpe and Peraza won that
06:01battle in spring training or Volpe won
06:03the battle and became a shortstop and
06:05Peraza really never found a stroke
06:07ball we mentioned this yesterday on
06:09the broadcast you saw something
06:11there you liked his swing when he
06:13came I'm like wow this kid is
06:15something because you don't have to
06:17worry about his defense it was all
06:18about his offense and he had crushed
06:20a home run stole a couple bases I'm
06:22like you're looking at a 30 30 guy
06:24that can play it field I mean this
06:26guy's gonna do everything and it
06:27just did not pan out full count on
06:34Peraza he had a fly ball right in
06:36the second two outs on two
06:37strikeouts three strikeouts on the
06:40night for Luis Hill and Peraza
06:54Peraza walks Will Warren Luis Hill
06:56and Oswald Peraza all out of the
06:59Yankee system talking about the
07:02minor league days I'm talking about
07:03the old clubhouse much more fun to
07:05have a conversation in Yankee
07:07Stadium than it is in the double
07:09A sitting on a wood bench you
07:11know that
07:22well Volpe last night his first
07:24rehab assignment was a double A
07:26Somerset he's off today so he was
07:28back in the trainer's room and I
07:31said he was smiling and laughing and
07:33feeling good to play two games in a
07:34row starting tomorrow and it just
07:38reminds me something that that
07:39Madden once told me when you know
07:41his back gave him problems and he
07:43was on the injured list at that
07:45time was the disabled and he said
07:49there's no worse feeling and I said
07:51why he said you're a non-person he
07:54said they're still your friends they
07:55still respect you but if you're not
07:56playing yeah and you're injured
07:58you're a non-person you're not in
07:59the fight you don't feel the
08:01emotion yeah I mean you know it
08:03doesn't kick in till after a little
08:05while though I mean you can take a
08:06couple days off fine fine but you
08:08know if you have an extended time
08:10and you know something that you've
08:11been doing your whole life taken
08:12away from you that you kind of take
08:14for granted all of a sudden you
08:16realize how much you missing and he
08:18was the captain of the team he said
08:19you can't leave when you're not
08:21playing you just can't he said
08:22again people respect you but they
08:24look at you differently like Paul
08:26just said you're not in the fight
08:360 2 on Josh Lowe chasing Peraza
08:44back presence really in his head I
08:47mean you see him really holding the
08:48ball process can run he's only got
08:50one stolen base on the year but in
08:53the minor leagues stole over 30
08:55bases a few times runner goes
09:01throw is high nice grab by Caballero
09:04keeping it in the infield but
09:06he's got a lot to do with the
09:06storm base a lot to do with that
09:08pitch the change up which he is
09:11really thrown well the last
09:12inning and a half kind of gone
09:14away from the slider and trying
09:16to get strikeouts with the
09:17change up a very good pitch an
09:19easy pitch to run two and two
09:57ball back to the screen each team
10:00with three hits Yankees lead three
10:03to one home run by judge the
10:06and then a two run single by
10:08Grisham and the run for the angels
10:11a solo home run by Adam Frazier
10:13of course it's solo they have one
10:15run count three and two I was
10:19going to say that fastball he's
10:20really set it up in three three
10:21consecutive changeups low so you
10:23know go for the high fastball
10:25right under his hands it's been
10:27just missed Yankees challenge
10:31presented by T-Mobile and they
10:33get it wrong
10:36we all thought it was strike three
10:38instead it's now three and two so
10:40they're down to one challenge
10:53for us the leads off second
10:56Caballero trying to check him
10:57back swing and a miss three
11:04strikeouts in the inning for
11:05Louie's heel the angel strand one
11:07we go to the bottom of the fourth
11:09three one Yankees
11:25start the bottom of the fourth
11:26inning Yankees up by two three to
11:28one we face the bottom of the
11:30Yankee order against Jack
11:33Kochanowicz you know Reid Detmers
11:36pitched so well for the angels
11:37last night you know managers
11:39always go out of the way say you
11:41know pitcher did well but Boone
11:44said listen I don't want to take
11:45anything away from Detmers but we
11:46have to be better than that and he
11:48shook up the lineup a little bit
11:49today he said he just wanted to
11:51get a different feel yeah I think
11:53the thing that frustrates Aaron
11:54Boone at times is the
11:56inconsistency you know you go
11:58through a week where you can score
12:00well and then you go through a week
12:01where you don't ever think you're
12:03going to score again and you know
12:04the Yankees are too good at the
12:05team offensively to go through
12:07those ups and downs you're gonna
12:09have nights where you just don't
12:10swing that or you don't score
12:11things don't go well but you just
12:13can't be the best team on earth
12:15and then all of a sudden you know
12:17not score a run in five days to
12:20and on Wells tap back to the
12:22mound in the second and a strike
12:50you don't have to be the best way
13:01And a strike to Wells, three and two.
13:17And he works along.
13:24So on this day, in 1998,
13:28the Yankees played the Angels.
13:30They played them at Shea Stadium.
13:32Yeah, I remember that.
13:33Because a beam fell out of the top of the upper deck
13:37and landed on two seats.
13:39Thank goodness the park was empty at the time.
13:42And they had to check the structural reliability of the ballpark
13:46and they had to move those games to Shea Stadium.
13:51And Yankees won the game 6-3.
13:54And one of the funny parts of it
13:56was that Dallas Strawberry hit a home run.
13:59And the people that ran Shea Stadium,
14:01you know the Big Apple they have?
14:02Yeah, they got half an apple.
14:03They kind of came halfway.
14:05And then they put it back down.
14:06But you remember that day?
14:07You guys dressed here.
14:08Yeah, I remember it well.
14:10We dressed, grabbed a bus,
14:11and went over to Shea Stadium.
14:13What I remember before that was,
14:16you know, we had a couple of days canceled.
14:18So they played an inner squad game, right?
14:21And you're in the middle of the season.
14:22You don't need an inner squad game.
14:23And Joe Torrey called,
14:24and said, do you want to play in this?
14:26I said, no.
14:26And he had asked Tino the same thing.
14:29So we just sat, like, where the scouts sit
14:31in, like, the first row
14:32and watched the inner squad game.
14:34It was like, this is the coolest thing ever.
14:35I've never sat in a seat here.
14:40Then when the ballpark was checked out,
14:44you guys came back to play here.
14:46But there were still people that were somewhat wary
14:48about coming back to the ballpark after a beam had fallen.
14:52And that game,
14:54George Steinbrunner sat in the stands
14:57on the seats where the beam took us
14:59so that it was okay.
15:00And he watched the game from there.
15:01And his strawberries on run
15:02at that game in Shea Stadium.
15:06And the apples said,
15:08let's go back down.
15:09He showed the New York City skyline.
15:11Said, see you later.
15:19Wait, did you see the people in the stands
15:21and the playing at winter coats on?
15:23A little different day than we're having today.
15:26Frazier to Neto to first.
15:29And they double up Caballero.
15:35So let's go back, Michael.
15:36It's Jackie Robinson.
15:37That was just reading the story.
15:39So he breaks in in Montreal,
15:41which is AAA for Brooklyn.
15:43Hits a home run.
15:45His first, you know, right in his first game.
15:48It's a three-run home run.
15:49Rounds at bases.
15:51Now you have the handshake of the century.
15:53Kind of nickname
15:55was George Shotgun Shuba.
15:59A guy from Ohio
16:00that met him at the plate
16:02was actually on deck
16:03to meet him at the plate
16:05and gave him the handshake at home.
16:07Imagine that that was a big deal.
16:09Oh, it's amazing.
16:11Kind of get goosebumps thinking about it.
16:43That's right.
16:43Jack Knives out of the way and
16:47there he is wearing the Montreal
16:48jersey.
16:50Boy that picture says it all.
16:54He was no longer kept out.
17:00Two and two.
17:09That was the second inning.
17:10McMahon robbed of an RBI single
17:12on a nice diving play by
17:14Frazier at second that was in the
17:15second inning.
17:16Now when you're struggling those
17:18kind of plays that happen.
17:24Skied left field low in the
17:27corner low makes the play.
17:31And that'll do it here on the
17:33fourth.
17:34Jackie Robinson with his teammates
17:36with the Dodgers.
17:37The man changed the game and a lot
17:38to do with changing the world.
17:51Series Yogi did not like the call
17:53and to his last day on earth he would
17:56always say he was out.
17:57Think that'd be under review this day
17:59and age.
17:59I guess I said many times I've seen a
18:04picture he signed of that picture
18:06and he signed it underneath you're
18:08out.
18:08He was out.
18:16Want to know on a hobby as he starts
18:19off the fifth and that one is club to
18:21left field.
18:21He's got no chance for Bellinger Sia a
18:24long home run into the bleachers for
18:26a hobby and now it's three two
18:28Yankees again we've talked about
18:33it's about location sure it's you
18:35can't question the pitch it's a
18:36fastball but it's up middle which
18:39you know it's going to get hit
18:40hard if you want to fall on the
18:43ground you sink the ball for
18:44seamers corners but you know out
18:46of the plate up.
18:47I don't care how hard you throw
18:50Major League hitters to catch up
18:51to it just right down the middle
18:55of the plate upper part of the
18:57strike zone.
19:01Now we've told the story before
19:03you know you hit a home run in
19:04the big leagues it feels great
19:05all the time.
19:06Imagine getting a home run in the
19:08stadium where you fell in love
19:10with the game.
19:14We saw that picture the other
19:16night Mike and believe me.
19:17You take it for granted now it's
19:19a great photo of him catching a
19:21ball he bare handed that with no
19:23glove across his body and then
19:24had to chuck it back onto the
19:26field because it obviously wasn't
19:27a Yankee home run.
19:29And you know everything comes
19:30around so that ball goes into the
19:31left field bleachers and somebody
19:33threw the ball back.
19:35Just like a hobby did all those
19:37years ago.
20:08And that's strike three as the ball
20:10is tipped into the glove of
20:11Wells.
20:19The difference on the location
20:21same pitch four seam fastball but
20:23down kind of inner half and just
20:26take the but you know it's
20:27something you have to adjust to
20:29because it's not right down the
20:30middle of the plate.
20:48That's something in his eye so you
20:49played with Bernie.
20:50Oh yeah.
20:51He did that a lot.
20:52How many times was it real.
20:53You know what I think he did it
20:55the first time possibly it was
20:57real and he saw that he could get
20:58a timeout so he could do it all
21:00the time.
21:00He could get a little extra time.
21:06So yesterday.
21:08Barney tweeted out that he's playing
21:09with Hootie and the Blowfish.
21:11Darius Rucker.
21:14Played golf with him one time.
21:16The big sports fan.
21:17Yeah.
21:17Huge sports fan.
21:19The Dolphins make them cry.
21:20I was going to say he referenced a
21:22lot of sports even in this song.
21:25And a strike to never.
21:28Dolphins make a lot of fans cry.
21:30Batteries challenge in his strike
21:31I was going to challenge that
21:34A.B.S. powered by T-Mobile.
21:37And he gets it right.
21:39So that swings the count from
21:422-1 to 3-0.
21:57And that's all four.
22:16You know Mike in the pregame you
22:18were asking you know what have
22:19they done wrong because Mike
22:20Trout's had some great swings
22:22and big home runs and this is
22:25what you don't want to do is put
22:26people ahead of him where you
22:28know you really can't pitch
22:29around and that walk has done
22:38one on one out trout 0 for 2
22:41tonight.
23:05He's shown in this series he
23:06can catch up to the fastball and
23:07he can hit the breaking ball as
23:09well but again by putting a
23:11runner ahead of him on base as a
23:15hitter you know that they're
23:16coming after you and you talk
23:18about people that Mike Trout has
23:20people here to mom and dad what a
23:25series for Trout Wow sixth home
23:30run and now has 15 runs batted in
23:34pitch ups there so three home runs
23:37allowed tonight by Louis Seal you
23:40know if you come to a Yankee
23:41game obviously you want the
23:44Yankees to win your Yankee fan
23:45and but baseball is a better
23:47sport when Mike Trout is healthy
23:50and he's the real Mike Trump I
23:52mean he has been one of the
23:54greatest players of his
23:56generation and what an
23:57opportunity for Yankee fans to
23:59see him in action in this series
24:13Brent Hedrick is up
24:22and a strike Sean I was about to
24:25toss the bat away though it was
24:26the ball for but did not
24:28challenge angels have two
24:30challenges remaining and he's
24:31one good change up there in the
24:39count three and two yeah you
24:41know we almost wonder if he
24:42could have gone to the change
24:43up with Trout because he looked
24:45like he was sitting fastball all
24:46the way but since the second
24:48inning where he got a couple
24:49strikeouts with a changeup
24:51that's been his best off speed
24:52pitch the slider has not been
24:54real sharp to him soft ground
25:03ball second base Chisholm well the
25:11four seamer and again you're
25:12going to see just middle middle
25:13and Mike Trout just too good of
25:15a hitter to try to get away in a
25:19hitters count with a man on first
25:20base for the fastball right down
25:22the middle such a compact and
25:26just strength I mean he is so
25:28strong we talked last night I
25:30mean he built he's built like a
25:32football player and he has
25:33strength and he's able to drive
25:34the ball the other way and pull
25:37Joe Adele fouls it off so the
25:40Yankees after two innings they
25:41were leading three nothing but the
25:43Angels get a run in the third
25:45now three here in the fifth and
25:46the Angels lead by 143 yeah we
25:50were talking earlier I told you I
25:52couldn't believe some of the
25:53bombs that he was hitting him
25:58let's watch the parents hit
26:09sharply nice play by cover fires he
26:14gets a doubt beautiful play by the
26:16Yankee shortstop but the Angels
26:18get three we're halfway through
26:19They're up.
26:42Turn to Prime next Wednesday to take on the Red Sox.
26:45Don't miss a minute of Yankees coverage beginning at 6.
26:48Only on Prime.
26:49Another one game will be from Fenway Park.
26:51Jackie Robinson Museum.
26:53Jack Curry did a great piece on that on Yes.
26:56Just a wonderful, wonderful place.
27:00So much to see, so much to learn about the life and times of Jack Roosevelt Robinson.
27:20I'm going to ask you, and you were talking about the story about, you know, we played that game in
27:25Shea Stadium, but when they redid this Yankee Stadium, they played in Shea.
27:30Was it one or two years?
27:31They played in Shea, 73 and 74.
27:34Yeah.
27:34Now, you were a Yankee fan.
27:36Did you make it to Shea Stadium to see games during that time?
27:38I did.
27:39Nice.
27:39I did.
27:41So I lived in the Bronx, and you would take the Q44 bus, which would take you over the Whitestone
27:46Bridge, and you'd get off in the Shea Stadium and stuff.
27:50And that's the old days where your parents, and you're taking the bus over to Shea, and then we'll see
27:54you later.
27:55Yeah, great.
27:56It was always on a couple of buddies.
27:58They don't want me to go along.
28:02Well, it's funny you mention that because today is the anniversary of the second iteration of Yankee Stadium opening up,
28:10April 15, 1976.
28:14And the Yankees beat the Twins that day.
28:16First home run ever hit in the game was by Disco Dan Ford of the Twins.
28:20Rudy May started for the Yankees.
28:26Two away.
28:27Where the Disco Dan Ford?
28:29I don't know that I know that.
28:30This is Nick.
28:31I don't know Disco Doug.
28:32No, this was Disco Dan.
28:35This was so expected.
28:36I remember that sign like it was yesterday.
28:40And the Yankees have gone to the World Series, or they went to the World Series that year, 75, the
28:46Red Sox went,
28:46and then the Yankees went to the World Series the first year of the stadium and lost to the Reds.
28:52That one's popped up.
28:53Fight Judge.
28:55Sean O'Reilly makes the play.
28:56All right, well, can we go to break, Michael?
28:58Look back at that ticket.
28:59Things have changed.
29:00It was $5.50 to get in the game.
29:02That was a good seat.
29:09I would be a real, real pleasure if Mr. Rickey could have been here with us today.
29:14But to the members of the family, my entire love and gratitude for the things that he's done over the
29:19years.
29:20And I also want to say how pleased I am that my family can be here this afternoon and to
29:25thank baseball for the tremendous opportunities that it has presented to me and also for this thrilling afternoon.
29:33I'm extremely proud and pleased to be here this afternoon, but must admit I'm going to be tremendously more pleased
29:40and more proud when I look at that third base coaching line one day and see a black face managing
29:46in baseball.
29:47Thank you very much.
29:49That was Jackie Robinson's last public appearance before Game 2 of the 1972 World Series.
29:54That was in Cincinnati.
29:55And Jackie passed away nine days after that appearance.
30:03New pitcher for the Yankees, Tim Hill.
30:07And there's some symmetry that he makes that speech and says about having a black manager in a dugout one
30:15day.
30:15It turned out to be Jack Frank Robinson for the Indians.
30:20And it was in Cincinnati that he was heckled just terribly and got death threats.
30:27And there's a famous photo and also it was featured in the movie 42 where Pee Wee Reese put his
30:37arm around Jackie Robinson.
30:38And in the movie, I don't know if it's apocryphal or if it actually happened, he said, today we're all
30:42number 42.
30:45And Pee Wee Reese was from Kentucky and a lot of his friends were upset that he did that, but
30:52he felt it was more important to do that.
31:00Strike to Peraza.
31:12Off the glove of Hill, Karram's out to Kamehra.
31:16And then I'll get Peraza.
31:21Well, Tim Hill does come in as the Yankees make the call to the bullpen brought to you by Taco
31:25Bell.
31:26Well, Tim Hill does what he usually does.
31:28Comes out of the bullpen, gets a couple ground balls.
31:30That one ricocheted, luckily, to the shortstop, Gaviero, with a better base hit.
31:36And Peraza has good speed, so it all had to be handled quickly.
31:40And they certainly did that.
31:44Lowe tries to bunt.
31:57Right back to Hill.
31:59That's a Tim Hill inning right there.
32:02Doing what Tim Hill does.
32:03We'll go to the bottom of the six.
32:04Yankees down by one.
32:15All-Star Olympic gold medalist, NBA champion, and architect of championship dynasties.
32:20This documentary becomes both eulogy and reckoning.
32:23An examination of the man behind the logo.
32:26Jerry West, the logo, premieres tomorrow, April 16th, only on Prime.
32:31That I'm watching.
32:32You know what, I was thinking the same thing, because the more I read about his career, it wasn't all
32:37half the time.
32:38And he had some problems, but what an unbelievable player.
32:45And he, by the way, I'm sure they'll cover this in the documentary, very uncomfortable being the logo.
32:51Oh, is that right?
32:52He felt very uncomfortable about it.
32:55And when there was talk about the NBA maybe changing the logo, he was all for it.
33:00And it's a very good turn.
33:03Fernando Cruz warming up.
33:060-1 on Bellinger.
33:17They say the MLB logo, which is behind home play right now, is actually Harmon Kilmer.
33:21Yeah, Harmon Kilmerproof.
33:22The twins.
33:23But the brilliance of that logo, if you take a look at it, Paul.
33:27Grounded the first diving stop by Sean Ouell.
33:30And he flips to Kahanowicz.
33:32And they get Bellinger, although Bellinger is pointing to the dugout, thinking he might have been safe.
33:38Let's see if the Yankees challenged.
33:40Well, he's walking back to first base, like he knows he's safe, but they said no, no.
33:46You know, Anaheim, on paper, coming into this series.
33:50Oh, he just barely got the base.
33:53That's what he was thinking about.
33:55And coming in this series, I mean, one of their glaring weaknesses was their defense.
34:00Mm-hmm.
34:00And, you know, they had made some plays this series.
34:08And if you see the logo right there, Paul.
34:11Mm-hmm.
34:11That batter.
34:12Now, Harmon Kilmer was right-handed batter.
34:14But that could be a left-handed batter, too.
34:16Yeah, I was just gonna, I just looked at him like, that's Harmon Kilmer.
34:19I get it, but he looks like he's hitting left hand.
34:21He's like, wow.
34:23That's like that, the famous paintings.
34:25And I never understood this, how, you know, you go in and see somebody really, you know,
34:30a great artist, and the picture, you move around the room and the thing's still looking at you.
34:34It's like, wait a minute, your eyes can't move.
34:36You're stationary.
34:37You go to the room.
34:39Miss Lisa looks at you.
34:40There you go.
34:43Grounded foul.
34:45That's Mona Mona Lisa.
34:47I don't know that well.
34:48Yeah.
35:00Tough night.
35:02For Stan against Kohano.
35:03What's he strikes out for the third time.
35:08The head.
35:08The honor was on the ropes early that he's, you know, with the lead, seems to really be settling down.
35:15And again, that's a change up from that high release point.
35:18You get enough motion or movement down.
35:25Now he's down for three.
35:28Three home runs for the Angels.
35:30A two run shot by Trout.
35:33Jazz still sitting at no home runs.
35:37Has a big cut there.
35:38Swings through.
35:39All in one.
35:40All in one.
35:52Crowd of 41,000.
35:54And 19 announced crowd here at Yankee Stadium on this Wednesday evening.
35:59I took a walk this afternoon with my wife and it felt like summer.
36:04I mean, it was, what, mid eighties today.
36:06Yeah, it was unbelievable.
36:07You were lying to me when you were texting me with these fur coats and stuff.
36:10It wasn't a fur coat.
36:12Let's get that right.
36:13It was a snorkel coat.
36:16Snorkel.
36:16The big hood with the big fur around.
36:19So there was a little fur on it.
36:21Big fur.
36:22All right.
36:37Angels with five hits.
36:38Yankees with three.
36:40Home run by Judge.
36:41Two run single by Grisham.
36:43That's their score.
36:44There are three nothing after two.
36:49You know, I was just looking down, you know, the ball girls, the ball boys down there every night.
36:54And they're sitting on a, you know, a bucket where they put the ball.
36:57And thank goodness for the nets.
36:59Because if they were catching balls and there was no net there, it wasn't.
37:03If the fans would be over there trying to get every single baseball.
37:07But there's no chance.
37:08Danger, too.
37:09Yeah.
37:09Yankees go down in order against Kahanowitz.
37:12We go to the seventh.
37:38Yankees hockey jersey night back for 2026.
37:40Come out in the Yankee Stadium this Friday, April 17th, when the Yankees take on the Royals.
37:44First 18,000 guests in attendance.
37:47See the Yankees hockey jersey.
37:48Courtesy of StubHub.
37:49Tickets going fast.
37:50So get yours today at Yankees.com.
37:53Our colleague Joe Girardi has strongly suggested to me that he wants one of them.
37:58Is that right?
37:58Yeah.
37:59I do get a lot of texts from friends that giveaways and that's probably the top one, I gotta say.
38:05Here's a little bit of a little bit.
38:05There's a little bit of a little bit.
38:07Logan Ohoppy takes a pitch outside from the new Yankee pitcher Fernando Cruz.
38:12Ohoppy with the home run is first of the year in the fifth inning.
38:22We have two kids, so I usually get the giveaways.
38:25I give mine to you because, you know, I know what it's like to walk in with one present with
38:28two kids.
38:29So, I'm gonna have to leave you hanging because I'm gonna have to keep it for Girardi.
38:35And also your grandchildren.
38:37Well, they're a little big.
38:38Okay.
38:39That jersey's a little big for my tribe at this point.
38:442-0.
38:46Now, you mentioned, you know, the price of the ticket we showed for the opening at Yankee Stadium,
38:51the second Yankee Stadium, and that was in 1976.
38:58And don't ask me how, Paul, but I think I actually had my parents drive me to the stadium,
39:05and I went to the advance ticket window, and I had a ticket to that game.
39:08Last row of the upper deck, $1.50.
39:10Buck 50.
39:11And that was like, I mean, I was gonna go to the new Yankee Stadium.
39:14It was so incredibly anticipated.
39:17But the biggest deal was check swing, slow roll.
39:23We're gonna be a tough play.
39:24Just Chisholm makes it.
39:27Was, they talked about, the whole time I was being built,
39:31they were having a video board in center field that actually showed replays.
39:35There's a loge box, $5.50, right?
39:38And that's all I wanted to see.
39:39I could, because the old scoreboards, they have numbers.
39:42Right.
39:42And the team's names.
39:44And I remember I came in on the left field side, and I kept...
