00:00All right, let's have a little bit of fun with week 12, London in the locker room.
00:03We're here with the new guy, I guess we could call you that.
00:05Allow me to reintroduce this man, it's Isaiah Hodgins.
00:09I'd like to start these things off with something in the locker that is a must-have for you.
00:14Yeah, I was saying, you know, definitely some supplements of creatine or, you know,
00:19my recovery supplements right there, and I got some deodorant too.
00:22And I told him it's essential, especially after practice.
00:25A lot of people will be stank just showing up to meetings.
00:27Throw some deodorant on, please.
00:29This is for around the league, so there you go.
00:31Bad underarms and bad breath is, like, the two things you smell the most in the NFL locker room.
00:36Can't do it, can't do it.
00:37Can't be us, can't be us, especially those Likes Camp brothers.
00:40We've got to be fly out there.
00:42All right, let's just talk about just your week last week, man.
00:46Break it down, and why do you think you were able to have so much success in your first game back?
00:51Yeah, you know, it was a crazy week, you know, just getting a text, you know,
00:56basically halfway through my meetings on Wednesday.
00:59Was looking to fly out on Wednesday night.
01:01They didn't have any flights.
01:03Had to come out Thursday morning, get straight to practice meetings.
01:06But, you know, it's really just a testament to teammates, coaches.
01:09A lot of people were there to help me out, put in extra hours with me,
01:12help me try to remember as much as I can from the playbook, you know,
01:16third different offense this year.
01:17So just trying to recall and remember all that.
01:20But, you know, I was definitely just blessed and thankful for this opportunity that,
01:22you know, God put me in the position to be able to come here and display my talents on Sunday.
01:26Mike Kafka, when talking to the media, said he was, like,
01:29impressed with what you were able to do on such a short week
01:32and said how extremely hard it was for anyone to pick up a playbook, you know,
01:37a week into it, let alone a couple of days.
01:39What is it from this offense that you were familiar with and most comfortable with on Sunday?
01:45Yeah, I mean, definitely some of the route concepts and, like, formations and stuff.
01:48But, you know, this offense has a lot, you know, as you know, a lot of code words,
01:52a lot of different verbiage from the last time I was here.
01:56So I was really just trying to harp on that stuff and get that stuff down
01:59so, you know, I could go into the game full of confidence.
02:01Was it more the meetings that got you prepared or the on-the-field work with the quarterbacks?
02:06It was definitely both, man.
02:08I mean, any free second that I had around here,
02:10I felt like I was doing an extra meeting with my wide-out coach or with Wondell and Jameis
02:14and something just meeting extra, getting the plays down.
02:16And obviously, you know, the more reps that you get on there,
02:19the more walkthroughs and stuff, it helps a lot.
02:21So the way that CAF structured the practices and everything helped me a lot.
02:25So now what?
02:26Because you've come here before or during a short part of the season,
02:30the back end of a season after the deadline back in 2022, you led the team in receiving.
02:34You come back day one, game one, you lead the team in receiving.
02:38You've been a part of the business of sport here.
02:40So now what's your mindset going forward for the rest of this year?
02:46Yeah.
02:46I mean, really just take it week by week.
02:48You know, whatever role the Giants need me to play, you know,
02:51I'm going to try to do that the best that I can.
02:52So whether that's we get people back and they say, hey, we need you to block, cool,
02:56I'm going to do that.
02:57If it's special teams, if it's red zone, third down, whatever they need me to do,
03:01I'm going to just try to do my part.
03:03And, you know, I've been a part of NFL.
03:05It's my six years, so I know how the business goes.
03:06You know, people either go down or, you know, crazy stuff happens during games
03:11and they might need me here or there or a different position.
03:13So I'm trying to prepare myself to be ready for anything.
03:16Is there a difference in Mike Kafka, the offense coordinator, and Mike Kafka, the head coach?
03:21I love Kafka as a coordinator and a coach, man.
03:24You know, I obviously loved him when I first got here in that 2022 year.
03:27You know, I love him now.
03:28I think he brings a lot of high energy.
03:30He demands a lot of, you know, high intensity and detail in his work.
03:34And, you know, I respect that, and it doesn't matter who it is, you know,
03:36if I'm out there messing up or if it's, you know, anybody from the quarterback to the line to whoever,
03:41you know, he's going to hold him accountable and say, you know, redo it, let's restart this
03:44and, you know, attack it the right way.
03:46So, you know, I respect that out of him.
03:47All right, man.
03:48Welcome back, and congrats on that first game, bro.
03:50Appreciate that.
