00:00Okay, so let's have a look at some of the scriptures which point us to this, being the case.
00:07First of all, I would say that there is an interesting scripture in the book of 1 John,
00:12which tells us that this truth is going to be attacked,
00:17and that when you understand the spirit of Antichrist,
00:20now he doesn't actually say that the Antichrist here is going to be someone who's going to put a mark on you and give you the 666.
00:25He says that the mark, the sign of the Antichrist, is actually a denial of the relationship between the Father and the Son.
00:351 John 2, verse 22, says,
00:39Who is a lie but he who denies that Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ?
00:42He is Antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.
00:46Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either.
00:48He who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
00:52Interesting scripture.
00:53If you understand that fully, he's saying that if you deny the relationship between the Father and the Son,
00:59in other words, you deny the divinity of Jesus and he is equal with God,
01:03then you are of the spirit of Antichrist.
01:06And you can go through every kind of error which is around,
01:10whether it's Islam, Jehovah's Witnesses, all the cults,
01:13you'll find that in some way they will deny the relationship between the Father and the Son.
01:17It works every time.
01:18The only one which doesn't deny that is the true faith in Jesus, the Messiah.
01:24Because we believe that the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit are equal as the triunity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
01:30There's another scripture in 1 John which goes on to say in chapter 4, verse 1,
01:37Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God,
01:41because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
01:44By this you know the Spirit of God.
01:45Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God.
01:49Every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.
01:53This is the spirit of the Antichrist, of which you've heard it was coming and is now already in the world.
01:58This is the second aspect of the teaching of the Antichrist.
02:03He says here that the Antichrist spirit is going to deny that Jesus has come in the flesh.
02:07In other words, that Jesus has come in the flesh as a real human being to dwelling amongst us.
02:14And you find that this actually also works out in history.
02:17After the, in the sort of early time period of the early church, there was a group called the Gnostics.
02:23The Gnostics had a proof of Jesus which was right in line with this.
02:27It's got one of the Gnostic writings.
02:29It says that when the person says he saw Jesus, sometimes he could touch him and feel him as a man,
02:36but sometimes you put his hand straight through him as though he wasn't there.
02:40It was a doctrine of Serentius, I think it was called, and it was a false doctrine.
02:45It was saying really that Jesus was a kind of non, he was not really human, not fully human.
02:51And you find also that some of the New Age cults today,
02:53they say that the spirit of Jesus was a spirit which came upon a man called Jesus
02:58and can now come upon other people at other times.
03:00A spirit is not uniquely coming upon the Lord Jesus.
03:04So if you look at these two formulas in the book of John,
03:07they actually, you can use them to eliminate all the false teachings which have come
03:11after this time about Jesus Christ.
03:15It works every time.
03:16You can analyze any teaching which comes to you.
03:18If someone comes to you with a new teaching, analyze it on the basis of these two scriptures,
03:23and if it doesn't conform to them, it's of the spirit of Antichrist.
03:27Pretty simple, really, but not always that easy to work it out.
03:30But people get confused on these subjects.
