00:01Okay, let's look at our final quote, the one from the book of Jude.
00:07Just read it again.
00:09God does love us, he loves us unconditionally, but he doesn't love the things that we do.
00:14And if you want to have a relationship with God, then we have to accept his conditions,
00:18which are that we repent and believe the gospel.
00:21He doesn't change his mind to fit in with the fads and desires of modern philosophies and lifestyles.
00:27It tells us to change our minds to fit in with his unchanging moral laws.
00:32Modern church leaders can say what they like.
00:34They can try to be fashionable and carry favor with those who follow the shifting values of our time.
00:39But unless they teach what God says in the Bible, they will lose up and they'll lead people to hell,
00:44not to heaven.
00:46Jesus says to such church leaders what he said to the Pharisees.
00:50He says,
01:01Similarly, those who say that God accepts all forms of religion are denying, going back to Jude here,
01:10it says they deny the Lord God, the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
01:16If you say what Pope Francis said, that all religions lead to God,
01:20you're doing exactly what Jude says here.
01:22Can you see that?
01:23You're denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
01:28Because God says there's one God and one mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ.
01:33Jesus said,
01:34I'm the way, the truth, and the life.
01:35No one comes to the Father except by me.
01:38You can be a pious Muslim or a pious Hindu, you can do all the things you're supposed to do,
01:42but you won't come to God unless you come through Jesus.
01:45Now people say that's very intolerant and very dogmatic to say that.
01:49But we can't change the goalposts to fit in with the fads of modern society.
01:54Society has to change to fit in with what God says.
01:57It's as simple as that.
02:00And therefore we don't change the gospel to fit in with what the world says today.
02:05If we do that, then we lose the gospel.
02:12God doesn't change his mind.
02:14There's one God, one way of salvation through Jesus Christ.
02:18Believe it and be saved.
02:20Have your sins forgiven.
02:22Be reconciled to God.
02:23Have eternal life in the world to come.
02:27And know God is with you in this world.
02:30Reject it and be lost.
02:32Have eternal separation from God.
02:34And eternal punishment in hell.
02:37Again, that's not difficult to understand.
02:41And to my mind, it's obvious what you have to do.
02:46Unfortunately, you go out and share the gospel with people.
02:49It's pretty hard for people to understand it.
02:52And they've got all kinds of objections and all kinds of barriers.
02:55But in the end, we have to pray that God will get this message out.
02:57And I believe that in the days we're living in, more and more people are going to be open.
03:02Because they're going to see that all these other things I talked about changing just don't work.
03:07They don't change things for better.
03:08They change things for worse.
03:09Our society is not getting better with all the diversity and multi-faith.
03:13It's getting worse and more confused and more diverse and at odds with each other.
03:19The church is not getting better by accepting all the things of the world into it.
03:23It's getting worse and into more and more confusion.
03:26And has nothing really to say that is of any help to people in this world.
03:32If we stay close to what the Bible says, we have something which is true.
03:36And it's also helpful to any people in need.
03:39So if you are in need, if you feel that you are separated from God and you want to get
03:43to know God,
03:44there's a simple answer, believe in Jesus and we help you to do that.
03:48If you have problems in your life, you can bring them to the Lord and know that God will be
03:52able to meet you at your point of need.
03:54Because he cares for you and he cares for me.
03:57We have to come on his terms, not on ours.
03:59And I think that's basically what I see as the problem.
04:03People today say, well, I'll come on my terms to God.
04:05God says, no, you won't.
04:07I set the rules.
04:09There's only one way you can come to me.
04:10That's through Jesus Christ.
04:11At least that's through repenting and believing the gospel.
04:14That's through following Jesus.
04:16I'm not going to change it to fit in with your ideas.
04:19I'm not going to change it to fit in with your ideas of multiculturalism and diversity and all this stuff.
04:26I don't accept that, God says.
04:28I, the Lord, don't change.
04:30If you don't want to be consumed, then believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.
04:37Last verse from the book of Acts, chapter 17, verse 31.
04:43It says, truly the times of ignorance God overlooked, but God now commands all people everywhere to repent.
04:49Because he's appointed today on which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained.
04:55He's given assurance of this to all by raising him from the dead.
04:59Notice, God doesn't suggest it's a good idea if you repent.
05:02He commands all people everywhere to repent.
05:05It doesn't suggest it's okay for some people but not for others.
05:08He says, all people everywhere.
05:11Gospel message is for everybody.
05:13Whatever you're born into, wherever you come from, whatever your background is,
05:17there's one God, one mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ.
05:22Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.
05:25Amen.
05:27Let's just have a word of prayer.
05:29Father, we thank you that we can believe in you.
05:31We thank you that you don't change.
05:32We thank you that you are the way, the truth and the life.
05:35Thank you that in this changing world, you offer us the rock of salvation and the security of knowing God.
05:43Knowing God through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
05:46We thank you, Lord Jesus, that you have paid the price for our sin.
05:50When you died on the cross and took the punishment that we deserve,
05:53that we might be forgiven and receive eternal life through faith in you.
05:57We thank you for this in Jesus' name.
