00:00Welcome to a pre-Thanksgiving edition of Bob Eats Boston. Today, I'm in Methuen at Man's Apple
00:13Orchard here. You can feel the crispness in the air and I hear they have a Thanksgiving sandwich
00:19that I'm pretty excited to check out. Let's go inside. Okay, we're with Matt, who is one of the
00:24owners of Man's Apple Orchard. I want to get a little bit of the history of the orchard itself,
00:29how long it's been around, how long you've been involved. So we've been here since 1877.
00:34My siblings and I are fifth generation. And yeah, no, we've been here for everyone else.
00:41That is incredible. So is the last name Man? So my grandmother's last name was Man. My last name
00:49is Fitzgerald. And then, yeah, no, we've, like I said, been here for a little while. Yeah, you have,
00:53the store is really amazing. It's very charming. You got, see all the apples and then your baked
00:58goods are amazing. It's pie season, right? It is definitely pie season.
01:02What's the most popular pie, Matt? By far the apple. Oh, that's the one that started
01:07it all. Seems to make sense. Apple pie. It does. We have a few apples. So yeah,
01:10it works out. I've heard a listener recommended the gobble gobble panini. I try that for lunch.
01:16Can you tell me a little about that? Yeah. So the gobble gobble is, you know,
01:19getting you ready for Thanksgiving. Yeah. You know, not that you're not gonna have enough turkey,
01:22but yeah. Okay. We use a cranberry bread that comes from Fantini Bakery out of Haverhill. Okay.
01:29Excellent. Excellent. Honey roasted sliced turkey, our homemade apple stuffing, and homemade
01:36cranberry mayonnaise. And just kind of layer it all up, a little chopped cheddar cheese from
01:39Vermont. Oh my God. And press it on a panini. Yeah. Yeah. It sounds like a Thanksgiving pregame.
01:43It is definitely the Thanksgiving pregame. Okay. I'm gonna go hit that right now, Matt. Good choice.
01:47Sounds awesome. Thank you. So while I'm waiting for my awesome gobble gobble sandwich, I'm noticing
01:52that all the takeout they have is amazing, especially for Thanksgiving. Butternut squash.
01:57You come right down the line. This was the apple and herb stuffing that Matt was talking about.
02:03Cranberry. And again, I've had their chili. It is amazing. So they have a lot of stuff that you
02:09can take home. I mean, why cook? Come to Mann's. Place is great. Well, you can't come to Mann's
02:16apple orchard without trying their apple pie. Pre-Thanksgiving. This is actually a pre-dessert.
02:23Take a look at that. Mmm. Spicy. Just warm a little bit out of the oven. It's terrific.
02:32I'm not making pie this year. I'm gonna bring one of these home. Unbelievable. Okay. Here's the
02:38gobble gobble panini. Look at that cranberry bread. That's what Matt was talking about. You got
02:45fresh sliced turkey, their apple stuffing, and the cranberry inside, and the cheese, too,
02:52cheddar. It's really Thanksgiving in a sandwich. Wow. All I need now is a parade. Mmm. This
03:04is delicious. Guys, you gotta try the gobble gobble. This is exactly what I'm gonna do is gobble
03:10gobble this up right now. Mmm. Well, that was an amazing visit at Mann's apple orchard. If
03:17you're in the Methuen area, you gotta stop on by. They have everything. I mean, look at
03:21this place. It's actually feels like Thanksgiving, smells like Thanksgiving, and trust me on the
03:27gobble gobble. It is delicious. I got a pecan pie to go. Have a great Thanksgiving, guys. If there's
03:33any place you think I ought to hit up next for Bob Eats Boston, just comment below. You know
03:37what we love to go.
