00:00Please welcome your host, Fleur East.
00:30Happy Halloween and welcome to It Takes Two, live on BBC Two and iPlayer!
00:47Prepare yourself for a hell of a Friday as we take the highway towards a weekend of spooktacular, strictly action.
00:54And what a fright night I've got in store for you.
00:56So, lock your doors, shut your curtains and pretend you're not home.
01:00Because in just 24 hours and 4 minutes, we return to the ballroom.
01:07And you are not going to want to be disturbed for the next half an hour.
01:11This is what we have lined up for you this old Hallows Eve.
01:15Lavoie and Aliash were strong enough to bounce back last weekend and doubled their score for Icon's Week.
01:21But how will Lavoie go from sherry to scary for her petrifying Paso Doble?
01:25Find out how rehearsals have gone shortly.
01:28They were caught up in a judges' disagreement over the Usher-inspired Argentine tango last week.
01:34But will Harry and Karen be able to make their American smooth mystical magical so there's no dispute tomorrow?
01:39And don't forget, we love hearing from you.
01:44So, if you want to know whether Lavoie has found out the BBC application's address yet,
01:48or whether Harry finds the tango or the travelator more difficult,
01:52then send us your questions via WhatsApp on 0800 022 3801.
01:57Or just scan the QR code on your screen.
02:00But first, what do you get when you take three presenters,
02:03one who loves music, one who loves food, and the other who loves wine,
02:07and mash them together?
02:07Why it's one monstrous Friday panel!
02:15She's a TV and radio star who's always got pumpkin to talk about.
02:19It's Lauren Lavoie!
02:23She's an author, presenter, and wine expert who we don't want to put a cork in it.
02:27It's Oli Smith!
02:28And finally, she's a TV chef who loves cooking up some scarily delicious dishes.
02:35It's Yvonne Cole!
02:38And we're also joined by Yvonne's interpreter, Pascal!
02:42Woo!
02:42Hey!
02:43Now, Yvonne, some of our viewers at home won't know what it's like to watch Strictly using subtitles,
02:49so how would you describe it?
02:50I have the subtitles on all the time, but I do use the InVision interpreter as well.
02:56I don't hear the music, but I like to get a sense of it, so I love watching it with the subs.
03:00I love that. Thanks for that insight.
03:02Right, let's get on to the competition.
03:04Ten couples remaining.
03:05Let's start with Alex and Johannes.
03:07They're doing a salsa.
03:08Now, Lauren, we know that Alex is good at taking on a character, playing a role.
03:13How do you think she's going to fare being a devil?
03:15I'm so excited about this.
03:17I mean, she's been quite serious in recent weeks.
03:19It's been elegant, it's been perfect, but it's been quite kind of straight.
03:23I mean, if this isn't funny, I'll be really disappointed.
03:25Moose, tea, horny, come on!
03:27So I want to see her bring that kind of sparkle and fun and just a different kind of energy.
03:33Yes, and Ollie, the salsa is the ultimate party dance.
03:36Do you think this can keep the positive vibes going for this couple?
03:38I do. I mean, there's so much to it.
03:39And I've seen, you know, I've seen lots of lovely fluidity and I've seen lots of grace from Alex,
03:44but this time I want to see dynamism, vibrancy, commitment and passion.
03:48Mmm, OK. I love all the words. This is great. You're like a thesaurus.
03:52OK, let's go to Amber and Nikita. They're doing a V&E's Waltz.
03:56Now, Yvonne, Amber has done very well in Hold.
04:00So will this dance be good to help her rise from the dead?
04:03I think so. I think it's going to suit her.
04:05It definitely is a different style from what she's been doing previously, but she's ready for it.
04:09I find her mesmerising. But, yeah, I want to see more, something more impactful.
04:14I'm really excited for it.
04:16OK. And, Lauren, after the dance-off shocker last week, what do you want to see from them to make sure that they're safe?
04:22Oh, I felt so sorry for Amber. You could see her shaking, literally, when, you know, even though they were winning,
04:28she just looked so upset. Very difficult to go through. I just want her to bounce back.
04:32I think that kind of theme of coming back from the dead is going to be perfect, because she's only young,
04:36but she's going to have to dig deep. It's very hard. It's a bit like being picked last for games.
04:40Do you know what I mean? It's quite hard to be at the bottom two.
04:44But, you know, she's come back, she's got through, and I think she just needs to pull through,
04:49and she'll do really well.
04:50OK, let's go on to Vicky and Kai. Now they're doing an American Smooth.
04:54Oli, they're the only pair to have increased their scores week on week.
04:59Can she eclipse them again on Saturday?
05:01I definitely think she can. I think she's on the most incredible journey.
05:05It's building in confidence, it's building in drama and excitement.
05:08That dance last week was absolutely epic. It was so beautiful.
05:12This time, I think, with all of those different steps, she's going to absolutely smash it,
05:16and I think she could be a tip for the final.
05:18Oh, I like it. Yvonne, last week we saw her fight for this love.
05:23Do you think she needs to fight to stay in the competition?
05:26I do, and she's going to. She's got that insider. She's got the fight.
05:30She wants to give her absolute best shot, and it's there.
05:33She's been holding on to it, but now she just needs to let it go and soar.
05:37Just let it go and enjoy. I like it. OK.
05:39On to Karen and Carlos. They're doing an Argentine tango.
05:43Now, Lauren, Karen struggled to match the standard that she set in week one.
05:47What does she need to do to get creeping back up the leaderboard?
05:50Well, it's about bringing that precision back that she had in the first week, didn't she?
05:54She kind of came out, like, exploded out with that first dance,
05:57and this might be a good dance for her, I think,
06:00particularly with this Peaky Blinders theme that they've got going.
06:02There's real kind of creativity and lots of kind of fun and surprises in there,
06:06so I'm hoping that this will get her back on that upward trajectory.
06:11And, Oli, we know that Argentine tango is all about the sharp leg movements.
06:15Do you think this will favour our former footballer?
06:17I do. She's got the legs for it for sure, and I think also if she can just bring
06:21that sense of character to the dance, she's got a real opportunity here
06:24to build on last week, but no doubt she's capable.
06:27OK, let's move on next to George and Alexis.
06:30They're doing the cha-cha-cha, Yvonne.
06:32He's dancing to a song called Apple.
06:34Is he going to be the apple of your eye on Saturday?
06:37Indeed.
06:38He is, I think. I think he's going to be great.
06:40But also, we just need to see a bit more focus from him, I think.
06:44He needs to carry on, bring that focus. I want to see it happen for him tomorrow.
06:47And after last weekend, Lauren, he's going to want to go in one direction,
06:51and that's the leaderboard.
06:54What does he need to do to increase the scores, do you think?
06:56I think Yvonne's right. It is about focus and just about channelling his energy.
07:00We've seen that he's got the ability.
07:03You know, the judges have kind of consistently scored him quite highly,
07:06but it has just sort of gone on the wobble for a couple of weeks.
07:09I'm just hoping that this is going to be his week.
07:12If you can't get down to a bit of Charlie XCX, you know, you're in trouble.
07:15He's going to be fine.
07:15Yeah, Oli, what do you think? What are you expecting from him?
07:18I think this is going to be a bounce back from last week.
07:21I think there's so much charm there, and together, you know,
07:24there's so much energy with them.
07:26I think if they bring that, it'll just be super dynamic.
07:28I'm excited.
07:29Oh, I love this panel.
07:31Yes.
07:31We're going to talk about our remaining couples later on.
07:33But for now, it's my Friday panel!
07:35CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
07:36As we say goodbye to Icons Week and hello to Halloween Week,
07:42Lavoie's Cher will live long in the memory.
07:44So how will she top it this week?
07:46Rumour has it she's going to be embodying Sheryl Crow.
07:48In fact, we've got a sneak peek.
07:51Shhh!
07:54Uncanny.
07:58I love the whole idea, the concept, the singing, everything.
08:01I could watch you every night doing that.
08:03It looked like you were recovering from a double hip replacement,
08:08darling, because there wasn't any hip at all.
08:12Only side to side.
08:14And even that was a little stiff.
08:18Your timing was immaculate.
08:20I just thought it was great.
08:21Well done.
08:26CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
08:27It was a miraculous comeback last Saturday.
08:34How good did it feel for Lavoie to get back in a rhythm?
08:36Oh, my gosh.
08:37To be opening it, singing it, to be closing the show.
08:40The pressure was on, right?
08:41Yes.
08:41The pressure was on.
08:42But, yeah, I think to just have that comeback was amazing.
08:44I mean, she's done the Queen of Pop now.
08:46You know, the Queen of Pop is Cher, you know.
08:48And it's good for her to have that moment
08:49while other royals have been stripped of their duties.
08:51She's riding high, do you know what I mean?
08:53And that's amazing.
08:54Yes.
08:55And, Aliash, you doubled your score.
08:57How important was it to bounce back well after the week before?
09:01The most important to bounce back after.
09:04Come back later for a spooky surprise.
09:06I will be.
09:07Not going anywhere.
09:10Extremely important.
09:11And I was really, really amazed that the focus that we kind of kept
09:15after that week we had, it was amazing.
09:18Especially, like you just said, going last.
09:20Yeah.
09:21Watching everyone smash their dances and staying in the zone.
09:25Yeah.
09:25It was brilliant.
09:26And everyone kept saying, this will be your comeback.
09:27This will be the comeback.
09:28And you sort of think, what will it be?
09:29What if it's not the comeback?
09:30What if it's not?
09:30What if it's a double, you know, a double hip replacement?
09:32No, it's not.
09:35Hilarious.
09:36Well, the judges were a lot more complimentary this time.
09:39And I think their feelings about the dance were summed up
09:41in this shot from Shirley.
09:44She's getting down.
09:45There we go.
09:46Look at her.
09:46Come on, Elvis.
09:48I can't tell if she's nodding in time or trying to keep me in time.
09:52How did it feel, though, knowing that Shirley was really into it?
09:55Because she was feeling it.
09:56Yeah, she was feeling it.
09:57And that's nice.
09:57You know, we've gone from the terrible twos to, you know,
10:00I think we got a 70.
10:01We went right up the ratings with Shirley.
10:03She loved it.
10:03She looked fantastic.
10:04So I really wanted to impress Shirley this week.
10:06And I think LaVoie managed that.
10:07And LaVoie's comments.
10:09Got you to ask Craig for peace and love.
10:11Yeah.
10:11Do you think our comments are going to get you in trouble at some point?
10:14No, I was really, you know, we're doing sort of,
10:17the comment was about the age and the career.
10:20I'm really glad that that happened last week and not this week.
10:23Because the artist this week is slightly older.
10:25So I'm glad that it happened with Cher and not with Beth Owen.
10:28Because that would be, no.
10:30Well, we have a question here from Rachel.
10:33Question for Chris.
10:34Oh, Rachel.
10:35Does LaVoie do her own make-up on Saturday night?
10:38Well, for the first time ever, no, I'm having a fabulous girl called Holly on the team,
10:42who is phenomenal, who's been, you know, just taking it to the next level.
10:45So it's been really nice to have someone else do it.
10:47It's been amazing.
10:48Is it hard for you to sit there, though?
10:49Oh, it's so nice.
10:50I can lay there and relax.
10:51Your Halloween make-up's looking spectacular tonight.
10:54But, you know, it's...
10:55No, I mean, me, honestly.
10:57Oh, it's wonderful.
10:59Savage.
11:00Is it weird that I love that?
11:01Yeah, no.
11:02You love me, I mean, me.
11:03No, it's really nice to have someone else to do it.
11:05It's such a treat.
11:06Yeah, you can just focus on the routine.
11:08Well, let's move on to Halloween week.
11:11Just sit there quiet.
11:12He does this to me, Fleur.
11:13He stands there and doesn't say a word.
11:14He comes all sweet and innocent.
11:17Well, I can't wait to see what you're doing tomorrow.
11:19Because you're going to be in the ballroom
11:22and doing a Paso Doble to a version of this.
11:26Oh, the fifth.
11:28Such a true drama.
11:29We tried the first, second, third, fourth.
11:31We went with the fifth.
11:32The fifth one, yeah.
11:33Best one, it's a good one.
11:34I felt very classy, because normally in the supermarkets,
11:36you're walking out singing the song each week.
11:38Now I'm humming Beethoven when I'm doing my shopping.
11:39I feel very classy.
11:40It's one of your five a day.
11:41It's one of your five a day.
11:42It's one of your Paso Doble.
11:43Very nice.
11:44Are we going to be seeing a different side to Lavoie this week?
11:47Yes, evil.
11:48Well, not evil.
11:49Oh, wow.
11:50Sorry.
11:50That's just how I'm feeling right now.
11:53Serious, focused, you know, strong.
11:56She's always been strong.
11:57Wow.
11:58Wow.
11:59We're going to be really channeling.
12:02She's the cape, am I right?
12:04Correct.
12:06Basically being reduced to a tea towel in the kitchen
12:07when you do ole.
12:08That's what I mean.
12:09Ole.
12:10Friend.
12:10Friend by being channeled.
12:11Aliash, you previously noted that Lavoie is very quick at picking up the routine
12:16but also can lose the steps very quickly.
12:18Oh, did you?
12:19When did you say that?
12:19Has it stuck this week?
12:21It feels like a different kind of sofa now.
12:23Yeah, I think it has stuck.
12:26I feel like from the day one in rehearsals when we started sort of learning the pattern,
12:31Paso Doble is one of those sort of marching dances, if you wish.
12:33Everything makes an absolute sense.
12:35Well, I tried to make it sense with the choreography.
12:37And it's really sort of obvious what follows, which is great.
12:42And I think you've really, really enjoyed that.
12:44Have you heard that?
12:44Obvious what follows?
12:45When you walk around life and do sort of flipping around and spins and dips, never.
12:49Yeah.
12:49None of it makes sense.
12:50When you're at tea towels.
12:51When you're at tea towels.
12:52That is lovely.
12:53I'm very excited, Paso Doble.
12:54I've been there once.
12:55It's a lovely fishing village near Benidorm.
12:57I went there on a cruise and it's wonderful.
12:59You've got to go.
13:00Hashtag call me Jane.
13:02Well, listen, training is all about getting the bones of the routine right.
13:06Take a look at this.
13:08Oh, oh, oh.
13:09This is me after week 97 on Strictly.
13:13Yeah.
13:14How are you doing, Chris?
13:16Awesome.
13:18Yeah.
13:20Hilarious.
13:21That was really not our finest moment, was it?
13:23This is not, yeah.
13:24It cuts at the wrong time.
13:25It cuts at the wrong moment.
13:26Probably at the right time.
13:27Yep.
13:28Chris, you're still touring right now.
13:30How are you juggling everything alongside training?
13:31I do not know how I'm doing this.
13:33But I'm having the best time.
13:34The tour shows, I think, in a way, it's keeping me sane,
13:36because it's doing something that I know I can do with the singing
13:38and the comedy.
13:39The dancing is so new for me.
13:40But we've managed it, haven't we?
13:42We've managed it.
13:42I've only got one week left of touring,
13:43and then it'll be purely focused on Strictly,
13:45because my focus really is to stay in this competition as long as possible.
13:49I know some of you might think I'm laughing and joking
13:51and just seeing how far I get,
13:53but it really matters for me to try and get...
13:55I mean, I never thought I'd be in somewhere like week six,
13:57and, you know, seven's approaching.
13:58I can smell Blackpool.
13:59You can smell the big one, can't you?
14:01And, you know, it's exciting.
14:04I want to get there.
14:04The finale's in sight.
14:06The finale's in sight.
14:07I like that.
14:09And, Aliash, what's the most important thing
14:11going into Halloween week?
14:12Is it nailing the concept or getting the routine right?
14:15Because there's a lot to think about.
14:16Trick or treat.
14:18Always a treat.
14:19No!
14:22Don't like spiders.
14:24No?
14:25No.
14:25I thought you loved him.
14:26Look where it's landing.
14:27It looks like a moustache.
14:29Look, I think...
14:30It's not a real question, is it?
14:31No, it's not.
14:32Happy Halloween.
14:33Good luck tomorrow.
14:34It's Chris and Aliash.
14:35Whoa!
14:36Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!
14:40Right, next up,
14:42it feels like it's been a hot minute since Icon's Week.
14:44Shall we have a reminder of Harry and Karen's
14:46Usher-inspired Argentine tango?
14:53I'll take that as a yes.
14:54It really takes a lot of courage to say,
15:01I'm going to be in the background,
15:02I'm going to be a strong partner,
15:04and let your partner shine.
15:07I love your energy,
15:08but sometimes your energy can go against you.
15:11In this, it's a much more relaxed dance.
15:15I felt like you were really just hammering it.
15:19You had the Argentine tango.
15:21I saw the Argentine tango.
15:22I thought it was terrific.
15:24Give it up for Harry and Karen!
15:29Harry, I've not seen Anusha perform that well
15:31since my wedding day.
15:33Honestly.
15:34How did Icon's Week rate for you
15:36and your Strictly experience so far?
15:38Do you know what?
15:38These themed weeks are amazing, genuinely.
15:40You sort of go into them
15:41knowing that you're going to be Strictly-fied,
15:43and I really enjoyed it, personally.
15:45I'm not too sure about some other people,
15:47but I enjoyed it.
15:49And how was your performance at home with Aubrey Isla?
15:52Well, I've still got some work to do.
15:54She's a harsh critic.
15:55But we're doing what we can.
15:57I'm doing well.
15:58I've still got...
15:58Yeah, she's perfect.
15:59I'm not.
16:00Well, this performance really split the judges,
16:03which led to a rollercoaster of emotions for you both.
16:06Take a look at yourselves here.
16:08Six.
16:11Motsi Mabuse.
16:12Nine.
16:16Shirley Bauer.
16:17Seven.
16:20Anton Dubek.
16:20Eight.
16:21I mean, whoa.
16:25Why do I still feel nervous?
16:27There's a lot to juggle there.
16:28Yes.
16:29Karen, does this mean that you're going to be avoiding
16:30the Argentine tango for another 13 years?
16:32Probably.
16:34That's fine.
16:35No, you know what?
16:36I absolutely loved it,
16:38and it's just a shame sometimes.
16:42It's just a shame, isn't it?
16:44You know, I was like,
16:44listen, if you wanted me to do an Argentine tango classical,
16:48then give me the music, and I'll do it.
16:51But I thought I got the assignment, you know?
16:54The assignment.
16:55Do you think it was harsh,
16:57because you were getting criticized for mixing,
16:58like, the Usher style with the Argentine tango style?
17:01That was the assignment.
17:05I don't, I, literally, I was just a bit like,
17:08you know, I thought we had fun,
17:09we had a really beautiful balance,
17:11but you know what, listen,
17:12the judges have a really hard job on their hands,
17:14so sometimes they're going to like it,
17:16sometimes they're not.
17:17I just wish they liked it.
17:19Yes.
17:19That is all.
17:20That's what we all wish for.
17:20Yeah, I just wish we were.
17:22Strictly legend Oti Mabuse was in the audience on Saturday,
17:25and she said this on socials,
17:27dance of the night,
17:29the room was electric.
17:30Come on, Oti.
17:32How good is it knowing that the Mabuse sisters
17:34have got your back?
17:35Do you know what,
17:36like, genuinely,
17:37legends, right?
17:38Icon's legends,
17:39so it's always nice to feel
17:41that people are sort of enjoying what you're doing,
17:42but most importantly,
17:43these guys come and look.
17:45You know, what can you say?
17:45At the end of the day,
17:46the room was electric,
17:47like, genuinely,
17:48the vibe was so right,
17:49and the fact that they can vouch for us,
17:50I'm glad that, you know,
17:51someone's actually saying that.
17:53Yeah.
17:53It's nice to get the love from them,
17:55but more importantly,
17:56your parents flew all the way from Ghana.
17:59Yes.
18:00How special of a moment was that for you?
18:03Do you know what it is for me?
18:04I think those guys allowed me to do so much in this world,
18:07and on national TV,
18:09I've got to say I love my dad,
18:10and that meant the world to me
18:11because I appreciate my parents so much,
18:13and, you know,
18:14you don't get to do that often,
18:15and that meant a lot to me.
18:16Mate, jumping on a plane to see you perform live,
18:19that's a major deal.
18:20I love that.
18:21To get dressed down by Craig.
18:24You know,
18:24kick his round,
18:25kick his round and all that.
18:27Well, tomorrow,
18:28you're going to be dancing at American Smooth
18:31for Halloween to this terrifying track.
18:36Mystical Magical
18:38by Betsy Boone.
18:40Have you finally got the name of the song correct, Karen?
18:43I have.
18:44Imaginable Mystical.
18:46Imaginable Mystical.
18:47I love that song.
18:49It's lovely.
18:49Literally,
18:50we've been,
18:51I've never shown,
18:52I think you've seen all of my teeth.
18:54Yes.
18:54Because we've been smiling so much.
18:56We're literally enjoying ourselves this week
18:59because the past two weeks
19:00were very intense.
19:01Yes.
19:02You know,
19:02very, you know,
19:03deep and, you know,
19:04lift me and don't look at me,
19:05look at me and bend your knees,
19:07don't bend your knees.
19:08Soften your knees.
19:08Yes.
19:09Hard on your knees.
19:09You know,
19:09lift me higher,
19:10don't lift me higher,
19:11don't strong, you know.
19:12So it's quite nice to be a little bit lighter.
19:15Yes.
19:15You know?
19:15And you're having more fun.
19:17Yes.
19:17You were in the ballroom today,
19:18so how did the final rehearsal go?
19:21Great.
19:21Good, actually.
19:22I mean, look,
19:23these sort of movements here
19:24that we're doing,
19:25it's just,
19:25you do feel light.
19:27There's an essence of just happiness
19:28and, you know,
19:29look,
19:30we're defying gravity,
19:31you know,
19:31we're in space.
19:32We've got to feel like
19:33we're having fun, right?
19:34And Harry's obviously a strong guy.
19:36How's he coping with the lifts
19:37in this routine?
19:38I literally don't touch the floor ever.
19:40So it's pretty easy.
19:42You know what?
19:42Like,
19:43I want him to dance.
19:45I know that everybody knows.
19:46He's been asking me,
19:47can we do a press?
19:48And I'm like,
19:48listen,
19:48it'll come.
19:49Wow.
19:50He's been asking for it,
19:51but I was just like,
19:51you know,
19:52let's do it.
19:52I want you to look effortless
19:54when you're lifting me
19:55and, you know,
19:56step by step,
19:57but we'll get there.
19:58But he's very,
19:59very good at lifts.
20:00Do you know what?
20:00I know he wants to lift you
20:01because your gym schedule's
20:03been impacted, right?
20:04Lewis called you out.
20:05Have you been back, Sim?
20:06I've retired from the gym,
20:07but what I've kind of
20:08substituted is using
20:10the pro dancers as dumbbells.
20:11Well,
20:12I've seen that, actually.
20:12You've been getting your reps in
20:13in a different way.
20:14Let's take a look.
20:15Yeah.
20:15Yeah.
20:15Yeah.
20:15Yeah.
20:16Yeah.
20:16Yeah.
20:16Yeah.
20:16Yeah.
20:17Yeah.
20:17Yeah.
20:18Yeah.
20:18Yeah.
20:19Yeah.
20:19Yeah.
20:19Yeah.
20:20Yeah.
20:20Yeah.
20:21Yeah.
20:25That is so funny.
20:29He was, like,
20:30immediately after,
20:31he was like,
20:31oh, wait, APKG.
20:32Yeah.
20:33He's like,
20:33how is he lifting me?
20:34Like,
20:34how are you doing these things?
20:35I don't know.
20:36Do you know what?
20:36I've obviously been blessed
20:38with talents of,
20:39you know,
20:40physical gifts,
20:40but at the same time,
20:41it's quite nice.
20:43Like, look,
20:43I am part of the 1%
20:44of the world.
20:44I can run fast.
20:45I can,
20:46I'm just explosive,
20:47but I'm not what I look like.
20:49You know,
20:49I was scared in this whole world
20:51that people wouldn't find me relatable
20:52because of my muscles,
20:53but it's been the opposite.
20:54People have seen the teddy bear
20:55that's inside,
20:56which is quite nice.
20:57Oh, we're seeing the teddy bear
20:58that's inside.
20:59And this week,
21:00you're allowed to smile again.
21:01Yes.
21:01How much of a relief is that?
21:03Oh, look,
21:03I'm smiling now
21:04just because I know I can smile.
21:05It's like,
21:06like,
21:06life is about smiling for me
21:08and every day is a gift.
21:09So,
21:09if there's a day
21:10that I can't smile,
21:11you know,
21:11I have to pretend
21:12that Karen's forehead
21:13is a dessert
21:13that I really want to eat
21:14and smoulder at it.
21:15So,
21:16that's been really difficult to do.
21:17But now,
21:18for the last two weeks,
21:19I've been looking at your forehead
21:20like a dessert.
21:22Like,
21:23I was like,
21:23oh,
21:24I really want that chocolate cake.
21:26Listen,
21:26whatever works.
21:28Whatever works.
21:29Now,
21:29we know that obviously
21:30every week,
21:30you go and perform
21:31your dances again
21:32with Aubrey Islay,
21:33your daughter.
21:34So,
21:34is this a routine
21:35that you're looking forward
21:35to doing again with her?
21:36I cannot wait.
21:37I feel like she's going
21:38to really enjoy this one,
21:39mainly because
21:40we kind of end this dance
21:41with a nice sweet treat.
21:42So,
21:43I'd imagine at least
21:44we're going to do this
21:44at least five times each day
21:46so she can end with a sweet treat.
21:47Kids are smart.
21:49Really smart.
21:50Logical.
21:50Yeah.
21:51Have a lot of fun tomorrow.
21:52Can't wait to see you.
21:53It's Harry and Karen.
21:58As we approach Halloween week,
21:59it's occurred to me
22:00something spooky
22:01has been happening
22:01in this series.
22:02This is the furthest
22:03we've ever got into a series
22:05without Anton
22:06giving a ten.
22:07It honestly feels like
22:08we've been waiting
22:09an eternity.
22:14Come on, Anton.
22:15We'd expect this from Craig,
22:16but not you.
22:17Here's how Kaz and Louis
22:19are hoping to coax out
22:20that perfect paddle.
22:20In Argentine tango,
22:24the footwork
22:25and legwork
22:26is really,
22:27really important.
22:28You have to feel like
22:29you are
22:30on the sand beach.
22:31You're pushing
22:32the sand away
22:33through your foot.
22:35Sa-sand.
22:37There's so many analogies
22:38on Strictly from Dancing.
22:39I think we could write
22:41an encyclopedia.
22:42Change the bridge.
22:44It's a lot for Karen
22:45to remember
22:45and get it right.
22:47I did the wrong one.
22:48Oh, you do.
22:49Try it again.
22:50The idea of couple's choice
22:54is that it is
22:55anything we want.
22:56I'm really enjoying
22:58the speed of this dance
22:59to be honest.
23:00You're up, you're down,
23:01you're moving around,
23:02changing different styles.
23:03It's brilliant.
23:05There is a lot of
23:05side-by-side sections.
23:07We have to be
23:08so precise.
23:10It's got to look
23:12as one.
23:13That was pretty good,
23:14wasn't it?
23:14I think that was beautiful.
23:19Welcome back
23:20to my frightening
23:21Friday funnel.
23:23Far draw couples
23:24to get through.
23:25Let's start with
23:25Ellie and Vito.
23:26They're doing a tango.
23:27Now, Oli,
23:28the cheeky team
23:29are known for their positivity.
23:31Do you think Ellie's
23:31got what it takes
23:32to play a more serious
23:33character?
23:34I do.
23:35I mean,
23:35it always feels
23:36when I watch Ellie
23:37like, you know,
23:37someone switched
23:38the Christmas lights
23:38on in my heart
23:39a bit early.
23:40I love watching them both.
23:42This is a chance,
23:43though,
23:43to really show
23:43what they can do
23:44as a union together.
23:46It's a really
23:46important dance
23:47for them.
23:48I think they're
23:48going to absolutely
23:49raise the roof
23:50and smash it.
23:51And Yvonne,
23:52it's been a while
23:52since we've seen
23:53Ellie do ballroom.
23:54How do you think
23:55this routine's
23:56going to sit on her?
23:57I think it's going
23:58to be a huge change
23:59for her, actually,
24:00because, of course,
24:01yeah, it's different
24:02to what they've been
24:02doing so far.
24:03She's going to get that.
24:04She's just the girl
24:06power in her.
24:06She exuded that
24:07last week, didn't she?
24:08So, yeah, no,
24:09she's going to smash it.
24:10And Lauren,
24:10what do you think?
24:11How do you think
24:11she's going to handle
24:12this style?
24:13I agree.
24:13She's so dynamic, Ellie.
24:15And one of the things
24:16I love about watching her
24:17is that she just loves
24:18being on the dance floor.
24:19Like, you know,
24:20you never see her nerves,
24:21you never see her
24:22put her foot wrong.
24:23She just loves
24:24her time out there.
24:25So I think
24:25it's the next step
24:27for her, absolutely.
24:28And she's going to
24:29just rule.
24:30It's going to be great.
24:31Definitely.
24:32Well, let's move on
24:32to Balvinda and Julian.
24:33They're doing a rumba
24:34now at Lauren.
24:35They avoided a hat-trick
24:37of red lights last week.
24:39Do you think
24:39this will be
24:39the turning point
24:40for them?
24:41Oh, poor Bal.
24:41Well, the optimist
24:42in me hopes so,
24:44but the realist
24:45in me is worried.
24:47I think we've got
24:47some really big
24:48personalities
24:49in the competition.
24:51And, you know,
24:51strictly as much
24:52as anything,
24:53it's about the
24:53human stories,
24:54isn't it?
24:54We've got some
24:55really big stories
24:56as well.
24:56So I think
24:57that's making it
24:57quite difficult
24:58for Balvinda
24:58to cut through.
25:00Definitely the public
25:00sympathised with her
25:02last week
25:02and rightly gave
25:03her a week off,
25:04but I'm a little
25:05bit worried this week.
25:06Obviously, I hope
25:07that she does
25:08incredibly well.
25:09I've got everything
25:09crossed that she will.
25:11Oh, Oli,
25:12they're dancing to stay.
25:13How long do you think
25:14we can stay
25:14in the competition?
25:16I'm a Bal believer.
25:17I think she can do it.
25:18Hey, a Bal believer.
25:19If she brings
25:20fluidity,
25:21not rigidity to this,
25:22I think she's got
25:22a real chance.
25:23It's a dance
25:24that can show
25:24a slightly different
25:25side of her.
25:26I think she's got
25:27hidden depths.
25:27I think she's got
25:28such performance ability.
25:30I think this is the week
25:31where she starts
25:31to motor along
25:32and we're going to see
25:33great things
25:33from her future.
25:34Go Bal.
25:34Go Bal.
25:35Yvonne, are you a fan
25:37of this partnership?
25:39I am, of course.
25:40It's a great partnership
25:41and she does.
25:42She has such strength
25:43and she's resilient.
25:44She's shown that
25:45and that brings growth.
25:47I just want to see
25:47more of her, I think.
25:50OK, let's move on
25:51to Lewis and Katia.
25:52They're doing
25:52a couple's choice.
25:54We're bound to see
25:55a lot of tricks
25:55in this routine,
25:56but how much of a treat
25:57is this going to be for us?
25:59Oh, it's going to be
25:59a treat.
26:00Honestly, it's going to be
26:01full of surprises.
26:02I'm excited for this
26:04couple's choice.
26:04It's a great opportunity
26:05for him to show us
26:07who he is.
26:08I want to see more
26:09of who he is.
26:09I want to get to know him.
26:11I guess we haven't seen
26:12enough of him,
26:12the real him,
26:13on the stage so far.
26:14So, yeah, he's the one
26:15to watch.
26:16Oh, and Lauren,
26:17they've got the highest
26:18average score
26:18of all the couples.
26:19What's impressed you
26:20about this partnership?
26:21Well, I mean,
26:22it's really nice
26:23to see them together
26:24because Katia has
26:25such incredible ability.
26:26She's an amazing choreographer
26:27and, of course,
26:28so does he.
26:29So now she's matched
26:30with somebody
26:30who can just run
26:32with anything
26:32that she throws at him.
26:34So I think that's
26:35really exciting to see.
26:36And, you know,
26:37on Halloween,
26:37they're just going to
26:38go for the next level.
26:40They're going to do
26:40as big as possible.
26:42It's going to be
26:42full of tricks and surprises.
26:44So I like seeing
26:45that kind of creativity,
26:46I suppose,
26:47that they bring together.
26:48And, Oli,
26:49what are you looking forward
26:50to from them?
26:51All the tricks
26:51and all the treats.
26:52I thought from the start
26:53that Lewis has a really
26:54good chance of taking
26:55this all the way
26:55and they just mirror
26:56one another so impeccably.
26:59So here,
26:59they've got the choice
27:00to do whatever they like.
27:01I just think we're going
27:02to see some absolutely
27:03extraordinary things.
27:04It'll dazzle us
27:05and it'll delight us.
27:06Oh, wonderful.
27:07There's those words again.
27:08Yeah, there they are.
27:09OK, on to Le Bois
27:10and Ali Ash.
27:11We spoke to them
27:12a little earlier.
27:12They're doing a Paso Doble.
27:14Oli, they're dancing
27:15to the fifth.
27:16What do they need to do
27:16to make sure they're not
27:17the fifth couple eliminated?
27:19Well, I think La Voie
27:21is so good at performing
27:23and her face is so expressive
27:25and so funny.
27:26In the Paso,
27:26you've got to bring
27:27that really kind of dark energy.
27:29You have to have that
27:30sense of deep, dark presence.
27:32My only concern is,
27:33you know,
27:33if that cracks
27:34and there's a laugh
27:34or something like that,
27:35you know,
27:35I think La Voie
27:36deserves to go all the way.
27:38My mum is in love
27:39with La Voie.
27:39She's amazing.
27:40Who isn't in love
27:41with La Voie?
27:41But I think
27:42this is the chance
27:43you absolutely have
27:43to bring dark La Voie.
27:45Yes, dark La Voie.
27:46Yvonne, speaking of,
27:48how do you think
27:48La Voie's going to cope
27:49with this serious character?
27:51I know, it's similar.
27:52I think it's going
27:53to be a struggle actually
27:54because, of course,
27:55it's the opposite
27:56of how she is.
27:57There's such exuberance
27:58and such laughter normally,
27:59but to contain that.
28:01But I really,
28:02really want La Voie
28:02to continue,
28:03so hopefully
28:04they'll bring it.
28:05Yes, fingers crossed.
28:06OK, on to Harry and Karen.
28:07They're doing
28:07an American Smooth.
28:09Lauren, do you think
28:10they've got the ability
28:10to make this
28:11a magical routine?
28:12Oh, yeah.
28:13I'm excited about this one.
28:14They're definitely
28:14in my top three,
28:16Harry and Karen.
28:17And I just think,
28:18I love that he's got
28:19all the power,
28:19as they were just saying
28:20on the sofa.
28:21You know,
28:21they've shown that off
28:22in recent weeks,
28:23but really lovely
28:24to see another string
28:25to his bow,
28:26to see him kind of
28:27contain that
28:27and bring that sort of
28:28elegance,
28:29that lightness,
28:30that fun.
28:31It's going to be
28:31a really special routine.
28:32And Ollie,
28:33Harry got four
28:34different scores
28:34from the judges
28:35last week.
28:36Do you think this dance
28:37is going to get
28:37them all on side?
28:38I think so.
28:39I think with Harry,
28:40you know,
28:41he is a person
28:42of great strength,
28:43both inwardly
28:43and outwardly.
28:44And I really like
28:46what I'm seeing
28:46with the way
28:47he's holding himself,
28:47the way he's talking,
28:48the way he's opening up.
28:49I think this time,
28:50you know,
28:51as long as he keeps
28:51his moves nice and alive,
28:53I think he's got
28:53a really good chance
28:54of aligning all those judges
28:55on a really high mark.
28:56OK.
28:58It's time for the most
28:59terrifying moment of all.
