00:00Welcome to the new video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog,
00:03where we introduce you to the brand new electric SUV G7 from Xpong.
00:09A vehicle that is causing a stir with its innovative AI technology and impressive engineering.
00:15With the G7, the Chinese manufacturer XP has not only launched a new model on the market,
00:21but has also installed its self-developed Turing AI processors for the first time.
00:26Up to three of these chips are used in the Ultra version of the vehicle,
00:30which together deliver a computing power of over 2,200 terabytes per second.
00:37According to company boss He Xiaopeng,
00:39the performance of a single Turing chip is three times higher than that of the current leader NVIDIA Oren X,
00:44which has previously been considered the benchmark in the field of autonomous driving.
00:51The chip was introduced in November 2024.
00:54Xbang emphasizes that the G7 is the first vehicle in the world
00:58to have sufficient computing power for highly automated driving functions of level 3.
01:03However, this statement is not entirely correct,
01:05because both Mercedes-Benz and BMW already offer corresponding systems such as the Drive Pilot as standard.
01:14A real highlight of the Ultra version is the integrated vision language model.
01:18This AI technology is designed to help the vehicle recognize its surroundings
01:24and further develop its capabilities in the area of assisted driving in the intelligent cockpit.
01:28With this, Xbang is taking a clear step towards a self-learning vehicle.
01:36In terms of positioning on the market,
01:38the J7 is priced between the SUV G6 and the top model G9.
01:42In China, the G7 costs the equivalent of just under 30,000 euros.
01:49The range according to the Chinese CLTC test cycle is just over 700 kilometers,
01:54which is impressive for a vehicle in this class.
01:58The SUV is also based on a powerful 800-volt system,
02:02which promises short charging times.
02:05Volkswagen is also benefiting from Xbang's technology offensive.
02:09The group plans to use the high-performance Turing chips in new models
02:13that are set to be launched in China next year.
02:18As Xiaopeng emphasized, chip development is a long-term project,
02:22as Xbang is also pursuing projects in aviation and robotics.
02:27The chips are also said to be compatible with the company's own large language model.
02:32XP is also in talks with other automakers about potential supply agreements.
02:37The aim is to establish long-term partnerships.
02:43A spokesperson for Volkswagen confirmed to the Financial Times
02:46that the two companies are working on two new fully electric mid-range vehicles
02:50for the Volkswagen brand, which will be available in China from next year.
02:57The cooperation was announced in July 2023.
03:00To strengthen this partnership, Volkswagen invested around 640 million euros in Xbang,
03:06thereby acquiring almost 5% of the company's shares.
03:12The joint development is being driven forward by a new technology center in China
03:16with around 2,000 engineers.
03:19The aim is to expand the existing range of the MEB platform
03:22and open up new market segments.
03:24The full article with all the details about the Xbang G7
03:30and the cooperation with Volkswagen can be found via the link in the video description.
