00:00Welcome to the new video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04This time, it's all about the brand new electric SUV from Xiaomi, the Y7,
00:09with which the Chinese tech giant is shaking up the market for sporty city SUVs.
00:15The model recently celebrated its premiere and is causing quite a stir with its impressive performance figures,
00:21state-of-the-art technology and a competitive price.
00:23The Y7 is already the second fully electric vehicle from Xiaomi after the Su7 sedan introduced in December 2023.
00:34The Su7 quickly found many buyers with over 200,000 units delivered,
00:38and with the U7, the company now wants to follow suit in the SUV segment.
00:45Visually, the Y7 presents itself as sporty and elegant at the same time with slim LED headlights,
00:51an aerodynamically shaped front and a coupe-like sloping roof.
00:56Particularly striking is the sideline, which is clearly based on vehicles such as the Ferrari Puro Sangue.
01:02In some versions, ventilation inlets adorn the bonnet, thus reinforcing the dynamic appearance.
01:09Inside, passengers can expect high standards of comfort and technology.
01:14Xiaomi relies on napper leather in four color variations,
01:17massage seats and a panoramic glass roof with electronic tinting.
01:23Glass with UV protection and sound insulation as well as a cooled and heated beverage compartment underline the premium claim.
01:31The entire vehicle is built on 800-volt technology, which enables ultra-fast charging.
01:36Just 12 minutes should be enough to charge the battery from 10 to 80%.
01:41Depending on the model, batteries with around 96 to 102 kWh are used,
01:49which operate on a silicon carbide basis and promise high efficiency.
01:54Xiaomi offers the Y7 in three different versions.
01:57The basic version with rear-wheel drive delivers around 320 horsepower and offers a remarkable range of up to 85 kilometers.
02:09The mid-range pro version with all-wheel drive has around 496 horsepower and a range of up to 770 kilometers.
02:16The top model U7 Max delivers an impressive 691 horsepower.
02:25Accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.30 seconds and achieves a range of up to 750 kilometers.
02:34All this according to the CLTC cycle common in China,
02:37which is somewhat more generous than the WLTP standard we are familiar with.
02:41In terms of driving technology, the Y7 offers an adaptive air suspension with dual-chamber technology
02:48and electronically-controlled shock absorbers.
02:52An intelligent chassis control system analyzes the road conditions in real-time
02:57and adjusts the setup accordingly to ensure both comfort and sportiness.
03:02The digital equipment is impressive.
03:06Xiaomi has installed a display that extends over the entire windshield
03:09and uses Mini-LED technology to display important information directly in the field of vision,
03:15comparable to a head-up display, but more modern and comprehensive.
03:20With the Xiaomi AI Voice Assistant, Xiaomi is also relying on artificial intelligence,
03:25which can even recognize voice commands from outside the vehicle.
03:31Each seat has its own microphones,
03:33so that all occupants can individually control functions such as navigation or music.
03:37A special feature is the deep integration of the Xiaomi ecosystem.
03:44Anyone who owns a Xiaomi smartphone or tablet can seamlessly connect it to the vehicle.
03:49Apple users are not left out either.
03:52CarPlay is supported, including extended widgets.
03:55The vehicle can be unlocked and even remotely controlled via Apple Watch.
03:59The technical equipment for driver assistance includes 11 cameras,
04:04radar, radar, ultrasound, and a so-called 4DM wave radar.
04:09This gives the YA function for semi-autonomous driving.
04:13The prices for the model are surprising given the variety of technology.
04:17The basic version costs the equivalent of around €32,500.
04:21The pro version is around €35,900.
04:26While the max model costs around €42,300.
04:32This puts Xiaomi on par with the Tesla Model Y in terms of price,
04:36but offers clear advantages in terms of features, charging speed and range.
04:42Success was not long in coming.
04:45Around 289,000 orders were received within just one hour of the launch.
04:49An unprecedented rush that also caused a stir on the stock exchange.
04:55The price of Xiaomi shares rose by 8% to a new record high.
05:00According to analysts, the Y7 is expected to account for over 40% of Xiaomi's vehicle deliveries
05:05in the second half of the year.
05:08Given the popularity of urban SUVs in China, this plan seems to be working.
05:14However, it is currently uncertain whether the Y7 will also find its way to Europe.
05:19Xiaomi plans to invest around €24 billion in electric cars over the next five years.
05:28The company wants to use this to establish itself as the leading player in the premium segment of
05:33electromobility in the long term.
05:35And after the rapid success of the Su7 and the recently unveiled Y7,
05:38the chances of this happening are not bad.
