00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today, everything revolves around the new Skoda LRR-S in flashy Mamba Green.
00:10A vehicle that impressively takes the lead in the compact electric SUV segment
00:14and clearly stands out from the previous top model, the L-Rock 85.
00:18With this version of the L-Rock, Skoda proves that sporty appeal,
00:22practicality and modern technology can be combined in one vehicle without being too loud.
00:27Unless, of course, you opt for the eye-catching Mamba Green.
00:33The L-Rock is currently developing into a real success model for the Czech Volkswagen subsidiary.
00:38Even faster than the larger NJ or the sister models from VW, Audi and Ford.
00:44In May alone, almost 2,700 units were newly registered in Germany.
00:50In April, the figure was even more than 8,000 across Europe,
00:53giving the L-Rock the top spot in electric car sales.
00:57With the new L-Rock RS, Skoda is now upping the ante.
01:02It offers all-wheel drive, more power and even more features.
01:07However, it also comes at a noticeably higher price.
01:10But is this upgrade really worth it?
01:12The technical data is certainly impressive.
01:14A system output of 340 horsepower catapults the L-Rock RS to a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.4 seconds.
01:24This speed is already familiar from the Skoda NJ-RS or the VW ID.4 GTX, both of which are well-established and proven.
01:32The battery also does not offer any groundbreaking innovations, but offers a solid basis with a gross output of 84 kilowatt-hours.
01:41Compared to the L-Rock 85, this means a performance increase and at least 2 additional kilowatt-hours of usable energy.
01:47Of course, the L-Rock RS also has a higher weight.
01:52It is exactly 111 kilograms heavier than the rear-wheel drive top model.
01:57Nevertheless, the range of up to 540 kilometers remains remarkable.
02:05Anyone who does not hold back in everyday life and likes to use the power can expect a consumption of between 17 and 20 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers and an effective range of around 450 kilometers.
02:16Of course, the all-wheel drive technology also tempts you to drive in a sporty manner.
02:23It not only provides a dynamic driving experience, but also provides additional safety in adverse weather conditions.
02:32The revised components on the chassis and steering give the compact SUV, which weighs almost 2.3 tons, a sporty touch that is not too intrusive but is definitely noticeable for committed drivers.
02:46The L-Rock RS is limited to a speed of 180 kilometers per hour, which is sufficient for the segment in which this sporty compact is used.
02:57And the RS also has a restrained appearance.
03:00At least if you don't order it in the eye-catching color Mamba Green.
03:03Despite the sporty front and rear apron, some typical RS details both inside and out, and 21-inch wheels that are already familiar from the first edition, the L-Rock RS remains pleasantly unexciting.
03:19The interior benefits from Alcantara covers, which are also available in the Sportline equipment, and redesigned sport seats with the RS logo in the headrests, which offer both good lateral support and comfortable seating.
03:30The chassis was also not designed exclusively for sportiness.
03:38The adaptive nature ensures that the L-Rock A confidently conceals even larger rotor regularities in comfort mode, while in sport mode it gets down to business noticeably more directly without becoming uncomfortable.
03:51Another plus point is the increased charging capacity.
03:54With a maximum of 185 kilowatts, the L-Rock RS is significantly superior to the L-Rock 85.
04:03The maximum charging capacity of the latter was reduced from 175 to 135 kilowatts due to a change in battery cell supplier.
04:13Nevertheless, Škoda promises that charging times will not increase thanks to better cell technology.
04:19A reassuring aspect for anyone who regularly relies on fast charging.
04:24In terms of price, the L-Rock RS is positioned at the upper end of the model range.
04:30While the entry-level model in the series with the L-Rock 50 Tour costs around €34,000, the top RS model costs at least €53,000.
04:38A heat pump costs over €1,000, while large 21-inch wheels and special paint finishes such as steel gray, striking Mamba green, or the new, exclusive Matgo limited edition quickly drive the price up even further.
04:54Fully equipped, the L-Rock RS then approaches the limit of around €57,000.
05:03However, this still makes it around €6,000 cheaper than a comparably equipped NJAC RS.
05:08So anyone who opts for the L-Rock RS gets a compact electric SUV that is sporty, comfortable, and suitable for everyday use.
05:19Compared to the larger NJAC RS, you not only save a bit of money, but also space, while still driving a vehicle with real character.
05:26Incidentally, a coupe version like the NJAC RS is not planned for the L-Rock RS.
05:34As always, you can find the full article in the video description.
