00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog on the topic of the VW Bus E Caravelle.
00:11As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
00:17The new VW Bus E Caravelle, created through a collaboration between Volkswagen and Ford,
00:23features a long wheelbase and an electric motor with 286 horsepower.
00:27This makes it not only aimed at tradespeople, but also at those who have not found a suitable
00:33replacement for the T6.1 in the ID base or multi. There is plenty of space.
00:41Compared to the T6.1, the ECA has grown by 12.8 cm in width and 14.6 cm in length,
00:49making it more spacious than both its predecessor and the brand's other MPVs.
00:53Volkswagen relies on Ford technology for the electric drive.
01:00The battery has a gross capacity of 86 kWh, of which only 63.8 kWh can be used net.
01:08The range remains rather modest, often only 250 km according to the onboard computer.
01:17The maximum charging power in DC mode is 125 kW, meaning the battery can be charged from 0 to 80%
01:24in 39 minutes.
01:25Those who do not need the full power of 286 horsepower can also opt for weaker versions with 136 or 218 horsepower.
01:40A special feature is the optional Intelligent Acceleration Limiter Function, available for 53 euros,
01:46which ensures dampened acceleration regardless of pedal input in order to protect the load and passengers from abrupt movements.
01:55It cannot be deactivated afterwards, which is a source of annoyance for many.
02:00In addition to the electric versions, there are still turbodiesel models from the Volkswagen range.
02:05The 2L TDI with 150 horsepower and 8-speed automatic transmission provides a solid driving experience and represents a serious alternative.
02:16There is a top deal for the e-Caravel with a short wheelbase and 136 horsepower,
02:20which reduces the price from the regular 6,621 euros to 61,621 euros.
02:27The more powerful version with 286 horsepower costs 65,450 euros with a discount.
02:38The version with 150 horsepower and automatic transmission also receives a discount to 5,525 euros.
02:47This makes the choice between electric and this model even more difficult.
02:53The new e-Caravel is no longer produced in Germany, but in Turkey,
02:57while only the Multivan and the IDBU's are manufactured at the main plant.
03:03Visually, the close relationship to the Ford Transit is unmistakable,
03:07which is causing a lot of discussion in the Bully community.
03:10Nevertheless, the e-Caravel offers many practical advantages,
03:14including an arrangement with three individual seats in the second row and a three-seater,
03:18as well as a storage volume of 5,800 L.
03:21There are 13 body variants in total, including models with a long wheelbase,
03:28high roofer as a British wagon with a double cab.
03:32Ford is also contributing a diverse range of drivetrains,
03:36which, in addition to the electric models with 136, 218 and 286 horsepower,
03:42also includes diesel variants with 110, 150 and 170 horsepower.
03:48These are available with a choice of manual transmission, automatic transmission or all-wheel drive.
03:54A plug-in hybrid version is set to follow next year.
03:57While driving, the e-Caravel impresses with its smooth running.
04:01The electric motor is practically inaudible.
04:04Roll and wind noise are low.
04:05Driving is relaxing, even if the seats could do with a bit more lateral support.
04:13The Ford infotainment system is easy to use, while the VW display is easy to read.
04:18Did you find the information about the VW Bus e-Caravel interesting?
04:22Then please subscribe.
04:23する because it is still inaudible.
04:28Listen, listen, listen, listen, listen, listen, listen.
04:33This video is great.
04:34Bye.
