00:00The Florida Republican Party was selling merchandise like t-shirts and hats branded for
00:05the state's newest immigration deportation facility called the Deportation Depot. However,
00:10that merchandise has now been taken down. The logo was designed to look like the Home Depot logo
00:17using a similar orange branding style. The design featured an orange box with the Deport Depot in
00:24bold capitalized white letters arranged in a stacked stencil style font. Items ranged from
00:30$15 to $28 on the Florida GOP's website with proceeds going to the Republican Party of Florida.
00:37However, after Home Depot objected, the party removed the merchandise and deleted social
00:42media posts promoting the merchandise, the Washington Post reports. We don't allow any
00:47organization to use our branding or logo for their commercial purposes, and we did not approve this
00:53use. Beth Marlowe, a Home Depot spokeswoman, told the Post in an email Sunday. The controversy comes
00:59as ICE has conducted raids at Home Depot stores in Los Angeles, aiming to arrest people they believe
01:04are undocumented immigrants. The raids have led to public backlash. In June, an ICE raid at a Home
01:10Depot in Los Angeles triggered widespread protests. The White House responded by deploying the National
01:16Guard, a move state leaders opposed. Home Depot told the Post it's never notified in advance when
01:22raids happen at its stores. The Florida GOP has not commented on the logo dispute. For Straight Arrow
