00:00In episode four, Oriana and Carter wake up together, and it's a really sweet moment.
00:04Though I was really sad for her when she says she doesn't believe in the compliments that Carter gives her.
00:10You're bad at taking compliments.
00:14I don't believe in them.
00:16You should.
00:17Why do you think that is?
00:18Because I think that Oriana is the type where she's self-deprecating,
00:24and she has a hard time accepting love.
00:30And I think that when he says, I mean, she's used to being told that she's pretty,
00:35and she knows that she can walk into a room and draw attention,
00:38but the way that he says it to her is so special and soft,
00:43and you can tell that he genuinely means that.
00:45And I think that she's not used to genuine love.
00:51And it's such a beautiful moment because it's one of the first times that you see her vulnerable.
00:57So that was the first time that I think that she's opened up in a very, very long time.
01:04And I can't believe we had to wait four episodes to see Oriana and Beth meet.
01:10I know.
01:10Carter!
01:15What was it like working with Kelly in those scenes?
01:17I mean, Kelly Riley is just a dream.
01:20She is so opposite from her character.
01:23And she has built this iconic woman who's so powerful,
01:28and she's been doing it for years.
01:30And just seeing her on this show and the way that she's further developing Beth,
01:34it's pretty incredible.
01:36And what I love most about Kelly is her perception of what female relationships should look like.
01:42So the obvious way to play that scene is Beth coming in, ripping her out of bed,
01:49just being angry like a mama bear.
01:51And I think that she sees Beth and Rip in Carter and Oriana, and she relates to it.
01:56And she can tell that Oriana is similar to her in the way that she's guarded,
02:01and she puts up these walls.
02:03And there's a mutual respect, which I really love.
02:05And I don't think that television shows that side enough.
02:08So being able to be on a show that is able to embrace female relationships
02:13and not just have them be bickering at each other all the time, I think is so special.
02:17And I was going to say, I think much like Oriana sees Carter, I think Beth sees Oriana.
02:23Yes.
02:24What can you tease about that dynamic going forward?
02:27What can I tease about that dynamic going forward?
02:29Um, I'm trying to figure out how to tease it without saying too much.
02:34There is something that happens in this show that changes everything.
02:41And it does have to do with Beth and Oriana's relationship.
02:45And I'm going to just keep my mouth closed because I'm new on this show.
02:50And if I'm the one that spoils something, then I don't want to, I'd be devastated.
02:54So I can't, I have a big mouth, so I have to keep it closed.
02:58Stewardship is one of my favorite themes within the Sheridanverse.
03:02How did the women on set like Kelly, Annette, and even Christina Alexandra Voros watch out for you?
03:07Every single day.
03:08It felt like such a family.
03:12And we were all protecting each other's characters.
03:14I've never been on a show where people were so passionate about the project that we were doing and so
03:20passionate about their characters.
03:23And being around Annette, I've been watching her movies since I was little.
03:27I've seen Kelly for years.
03:28Christina is one of the most evolutionary, not just directors, but cinematographers.
03:33She does both at the same time.
03:35And we all have just different thoughts on our individual characters and being able to sit down with them and
03:41have discussions about how these two characters can connect.
03:45Because for the Jacksons, I mean, the Duttons you've seen for years, but we're trying to build these backstories that
03:50pre-exist.
03:51And we want it to feel ingrained within the storyline, even though we haven't seen their backstory.
03:57So just sitting down and talking, like we just had conversations on conversations and we were building what Oriana was
04:06like at five and what her and Bula's relationships were.
04:08So the backstories go so deep.
04:11I mean, for me, I know everything about my character and how she was when she was little and what
04:16her upbringing is.
04:17So just being able to do that development work, it's so lucky to have an opportunity where people are open
04:24to that and want to have those discussions.
04:26And I do want to end with asking you about your next project, which was really exciting, Halloween store.
04:31You're producing, you're acting.
04:33Can you tell me a little bit about that?
04:35Yeah.
04:35So during the strike, I mean, we all, I think all actors are just kind of sitting on their hands
04:41like, what do we do?
04:42And for me, I'm a huge horror fan.
04:45I've been just so deeply in love with horror since I was little.
04:50And I was watching a movie and I was just like, oh, I wish I could make a movie.
04:54And then I was like, yeah, might as well.
04:55So I was able to acquire this script and I put financing together and we went out to Hawaii and
05:04shot it.
05:04It's about kids being trapped in a Halloween store over Halloween night with a serial killer on the loose.
05:10But for me, I just feel such a tingly, just stomach butterfly when I watch early 2000s horror movies or
05:20late 90s horror movies.
05:21Because I miss movies just being so fun to watch and scary and sexy and just, just exciting.
05:30So this movie, I'm so proud of it.
05:34All of my friends, all of my very talented friends, every single person that was cast in that movie, I
05:39either know really well or are friends of a friend.
05:42We have Simon Rex, Anthony Michael Hall.
05:44I could go down the list.
05:46So many incredible actors and just so excited for people to see it.
05:49We have a lot of fun.
05:49We have a lot of fun.
05:49But we have a lot of fun.
