00:35Good morning, I'm Craig DeGrelli.
00:37We begin with President Trump escalating his global tariff war,
00:41slapping India with some of the highest duties yet.
00:45Starting today, tariffs on Indian imports jumped to 50 percent.
00:49That's double the previous rate.
00:51The move punishes New Delhi for buying Russian oil,
00:54but it also threatens to strain relations with one of America's key partners
00:59and drive up costs for American shoppers on items such as jewelry, linen,
01:04activewear clothes, and leather goods.
01:07India calls the measure unfair, pointing out that other countries, like China,
01:11the largest buyer of Russian crude oil, face lower tariffs at just 30 percent.
01:16The White House says more countries could be next if they keep purchasing Moscow's oil.
01:22Trade between the two nations, meaning India, is substantial.
01:25Last year, the U.S. imported $87 billion in goods from India,
01:30while exporting $42 billion the other way.
01:33So the stakes for both economies and for American consumers are significant.
01:38This morning, a shakeup at FEMA.
01:40Several workers have been placed on leave after signing a scathing letter to Congress,
01:45blasting Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her boss, President Trump.
01:49The letter, titled the Katrina Declaration, warns that the administration's changes to FEMA
01:55could trigger catastrophic failures.
01:58It was released on the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which killed 1,400 people in New Orleans.
02:04180 current and former FEMA staffers signed it, though most did it anonymously.
02:10One supervisor tells CNN she and at least a half dozen others have been put on paid leave,
02:15their government accounts suspended.
02:17The declaration accuses the Trump administration of dismantling FEMA's authority
02:22and undoing two decades of progress since Katrina.
02:26It calls for the agency to be insulated from political pressure.
02:29This morning, President Trump is on the losing end of a big courtroom clash
02:34after a federal judge tossed out his administration's lawsuit
02:37against the entire federal bench in Maryland.
02:41The case centered on a standing order that temporarily stops the immediate deportation
02:45of migrants who filed challenges in federal court.
02:49The Justice Department called that a direct assault on the president's power
02:52to enforce immigration law.
02:54But Judge Thomas Cullen, himself a Trump appointee,
02:57slammed the move as, quote, novel and potentially calamitous,
03:01saying the administration had clearer legal paths to challenge the order
03:05than suing an entire court.
03:08He went further, blasting the White House for its attacks on judges who rule against it,
03:13writing, this concerted effort by the executive to smear and impugn individual judges
03:18who rule against it is both unprecedented and unfortunate.
03:22The administration is appealing.
03:24Well, this turned into a really big deal.
03:26Cracker Barrel tried to go modern, and their customers said,
03:29no thanks, we don't want it.
03:31Now the company is backpedaling, fast.
03:34On social media, the restaurant chain announced it's scrapping the new minimalist logo
03:38and bringing back the old familiar Uncle Herschel, writing in part,
03:43we said we would listen, and we have.
03:45Our new logo is going away, and our old-timer will remain.
03:49The reversal came after the company's stock tanked,
03:52costing Cracker Barrel more than $100 million in value.
03:55Loyal fans torched the rebrand online.
03:58Cracker Barrel had swapped its iconic barrel and old country store theme
04:03for a simple text-only logo.
04:05That logo barely lasted a week, just long enough to spark memes,
04:10even trolling from the White House on social media.
04:13President Trump weighing in twice yesterday,
04:15first urging the company to go back to the old logo,
04:19then writing,
04:20congratulations, Cracker Barrel.
04:22All of your fans very much appreciate it.
04:24Make lots of money, and most importantly,
04:27make your customers happy again.
04:28Wait till you see this.
04:30A towering wall of dust turned Phoenix from day into night.
04:34A fearsome haboob that ripped across the desert this week.
04:38Look at some of these pictures.
04:40Time-lapse video shows the massive cloud swallowing the skyline.
04:44Zero visibility on the ground.
04:46Flights at Sky Harbor Airport came to a standstill.
04:49A 70-mile-an-hour gust ripping material off the terminal roof.
04:53Power went out for 15,000 customers.
04:55And look at this.
04:56One mother, driving her children home,
04:58had to pull over as the storm engulfed her car.
05:01Can't see anything.
05:04We're in the middle of the haboob.
05:06We're in our car.
05:07Thankfully, by Tuesday,
05:09crews had mostly restored power and cleared downed trees.
05:12But the storm showed just how quickly
05:14Arizona's monsoon season can turn dangerous.
05:17Haboobs, those massive dust walls, happen every summer.
05:21But with Phoenix running drier than normal,
05:23this one packed an extra punch.
05:25Finally this morning, the 10th time really was the charm.
05:29The SpaceX Starship, the biggest, most powerful rocket ever built,
05:34just nailed its first fully successful test flight.
05:37Watch this.
05:38Three, two, one.
05:40After multiple delays and previous failures,
05:54last night's launch went off like a dream.
05:56Starship and its giant super-heavy booster both made gentle splashdowns,
06:01one in the Gulf and the other half a world away in the Indian Ocean.
06:05The whole test lasted just under one hour, and everything worked.
06:09Elon Musk says Starship will one day ferry humans to Mars.
06:13And NASA is counting on getting astronauts back to the moon this decade.
06:18SpaceX can finally say this giant rocket has stuck the landing, if you will.
06:23Here's my idea.
06:25Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift take off in the giant rocket after saying their I do's, right?
06:31I mean, you know it's going to be the wedding of the century.
06:33It was huge news yesterday.
06:35So the send-off has to be more than this horse-drawn carriage or limo with those cans clanking behind.
06:41Nah, nah.
06:41Instead, the Negrelli idea is this.
06:44They take off in the rocket ship with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes doing the countdown like he does on Sundays,
06:51like when he calls out the signals, you know, 180, 180.
06:53Instead, he goes 10, 9, 8.
06:57I mean, how cool would that be?
06:58All right, that's my idea.
07:00Travis, Taylor, you're free to call me.
