00:02Ukraine's access to Star Shield has been restored reportedly after a call from President Trump to
00:07Elon Musk. Both the U.S. and Ukraine officials told the Wall Street Journal that Star Shield,
00:13the military-grade version of Starlink, is now, quote, working more normally after speeds were
00:18throttled last week. This limited Ukraine's ability to fend off attacks from Russia.
00:22But some Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelensky,
00:26say the service is still not as fast as usual. Trump administration officials told the Journal
00:32that the president called Elon Musk, whose company SpaceX operates Starlink, and asked him to restore
00:37Kyiv's access to the military satellite system. But on Thursday, Trump wouldn't confirm whether
00:43he stepped in on behalf of Ukraine. Yeah, I don't want to comment on it. Whether I called or whether
00:49somebody else called doesn't make any difference. I guess the bottom line, he put it back. Trump has
00:54denied being behind the initial decision to restrict Ukraine's Star Shield capabilities and said he
00:59didn't know whether Musk was behind it. The service was slowed as tensions grow between Trump and
01:04Zelensky over Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil production facilities.
