00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian Jane's Weather Update for Monday.
00:04We have got a lot of clear skies, but there is this cloud across the south-eastern parts here.
00:09It's the southern coast, not right in the corner, but here.
00:12Now what it stems from is some mighty cold air that's coming to the south-east of the country,
00:16and look how far west that is spreading back.
00:19So it's cold air that's going to knock out the heat wave and the heat problems that we've had.
00:23But there is more heat always, there is more heat in the north,
00:26and as soon as our winds turn, we get to see that now.
00:30That comes for us sooner rather than later.
00:32Have you a look at our red and purple lines?
00:35That tells us about the heat that is coming down.
00:37This is during the day on Monday.
00:39Very light falls in through here.
00:41Into Tuesday, by the end of the day, the cool change is running in through here,
00:45so it's already moved across the south-west.
00:47I'll unpack the timing of that for Perth shortly.
00:49So there's Tuesday. That's a dry change.
00:51As we move through Wednesday, we've got just a little bit of wet weather that comes in through here.
00:55The heat is now confined to the east there.
00:57Have you a look at Thursday?
00:59Potentially a little bit more heat coming down, some very light wet weather.
01:02Have you a look at Friday?
01:04There is our surge of heat.
01:05It is away from the south-west coast.
01:07This is slightly more significant wet weather, but still nothing majorly exciting.
01:11That's Friday.
01:13Have you a look at Saturday?
01:13In through here, there's our heat.
01:16There's our change.
01:17Having a look at the cool air coming up on Saturday into Sunday.
01:21Next high-pressure system is sitting in through here.
01:23Lots of wet weather building.
01:25It's another feat of moisture.
01:26It takes the energy from us, and all of that is going to move across the east in a big way
01:30as we move into the early part of next week.
01:33But not for us here.
01:34Having a look at Monday, things are looking clear.
01:36Potentially heat coming down.
01:38The trough is offshore by the end of the day.
01:40And by Tuesday, here it is, a little bit of wet weather that is brewing.
01:43OK, so that's not adding up to very much at all.
01:4610 to 15 millimetres at best.
01:48So it's not a major rain system that we are looking at.
01:52But the temperature does vary thanks to that little surge of heat that comes down.
01:56Now, today in Perth, about 27, 33 into tomorrow.
02:00But have a look.
02:01We've got a northeasterly wind, and then we have a westerly.
02:04So let's unpack that.
02:05We've got our sunshine.
02:06We move into the low 30s.
02:08Have a look at our wind.
02:09It turns westerly here in the early afternoon, and the temperature does decrease.
02:13So there's our change as it comes ashore.
02:16You can expect it early for afternoon for the temperature to start going back down again.
02:20No wet weather.
02:21Hardly even any cloud with that one.
02:23So here we have Monday into Tuesday.
02:25Temperatures now back down to just 20 as we move through the day on Wednesday.
02:29And that is the maximum, yes, about 4 millimetres.
02:31So not significant, but a little bit moving in there.
02:3422, 24, back down to 19, 21, then up to 25.
02:39So a major source of heat is early in the week before the change comes through.
02:43And in terms of significant wet weather, there's not a lot of that coming in.
02:47As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
