00:00Good morning, Ty Law.
00:02Good morning, G.
00:03Happy birthday, bro.
00:06Appreciate your words earlier and your description of me looking basically like I'm on death's doorstep.
00:13I really appreciate that.
00:17I mean, Ty, how old are you?
00:21Fifty-two.
00:22You look fantastic.
00:23I mean, a guy does not look a day over 40.
00:26Hey, I appreciate that.
00:28But, you know, I had to mess with you a little bit, man.
00:29But you look great, bro.
00:31And, like I said, I really appreciate the opportunity you gave me, the friendship, the love, man.
00:36So, you know, I had to beat me and give it to you, man.
00:39But, hey, we all love you, bro.
00:41Real talk.
00:41Right back at you.
00:42We love you as well.
00:43And I wanted to talk a little bit about last week before we get to the Packers.
00:51And tough first half for that football team offensively.
00:55But Drake May, I think, gets a lot of credit for the way in which he handled that second half
01:00for the Patriots on Sunday.
01:03Hey, Drake May, I mean, he's impressing me more and more week in and week out.
01:08I think when he had like a hundred and one forty-one passer rating.
01:12I mean, he's playing efficient football.
01:14We got to keep him off the ground.
01:15Now, the offensive line, y'all can't keep letting him get sacked.
01:19You know what I mean?
01:20He can do a lot with his legs, but he is very, very impressive, man.
01:24And, like I said, I can't say enough good things about Drake May.
01:28I mean, I can't really even find any faults in him other than the turnovers, you know, which he's correcting
01:34those things.
01:35But, hey, we got to support him back.
01:37But I do got to say this, and I know you feel me on this one, Wiggy.
01:41Secondary, y'all got to play better, man.
01:43I mean, you got too much money going on back there to just let them throw at you like that,
01:48you know what I mean?
01:49Christian Gonzalez, I mean, I'm a Christian Gonzalez fan.
01:51I'm a cornerback fan.
01:53But when people come out there and throw at you and not thinking twice about it, that's a damn problem,
01:59you know what I mean?
02:00And I know he has the ability.
02:02I said he's top two, three all day.
02:04But you got to get them up off you, man.
02:07You know, other corner, number two corner, you got to play better, man.
02:12And you don't want to go into this late in the season where they say they can just pick you
02:16apart.
02:17There we go.
02:20With regard to Christian Gonzalez specifically, are you seeing anything?
02:24Because I do hear that from fans who are like, all right, we paid the guy, and he's been less
02:30than impressive from their view of it.
02:34But maybe it's just that he's, you know, nobody throws anywhere near him, and he's shut down anyway.
02:40See, I think this from, I would like to hear from Ty on this perspective.
02:44I notice for some reason, when you're a shut down corner, I don't know why he plays so much off
02:50coverage.
02:51I don't know if it's a game plan.
02:53There you go.
02:54Why?
02:55And I don't get it either.
02:56And I don't know if he's injured or anything like that.
02:59And that's what the defense calls.
03:01That's what he's most comfortable at.
03:03But when you're backing off of them and you're giving that much space, those guys get paid over there, too.
03:10And you've got to challenge guys at times, even especially in situational football.
03:14I think all the defensive backs of corners, they do the same thing.
03:19I don't see very many bump and run.
03:22I mean, when are you going to get up to somebody's face and challenge them?
03:24And I think that's what the problem is, and that's going to hurt you later on if you can't go
03:29up there and play man-to-man coverage, mano-a-mano, $100 million versus this $100 million wide receiver, and
03:37may the best man win.
03:38You have to go and challenge them, and that's what I think the secondary is missing overall, all of them
03:43from the first corner, the second corner, to the third corner, to the nickel.
03:48So, y'all got to play better, even though it's not hurting you as much right now, but it's going
03:52to come back and bite you in the ass later.
03:54So, you got to get – you got to have some competitive – you got to have some juice to
03:58you, man.
03:59Come on.
03:59Well, yeah.
04:00You got to let them hang.
04:02You can get away with it with a team like the Dolphins that runs the ball 50% of the
04:07time, not so much on Sunday this week.
04:11Ty, in your opinion –
04:12Exactly.
04:12In your opinion, is it time to start panicking about A.J. Brown?
04:18Yeah, yeah, yeah, we got to – you know, yeah, we got to start saying what's going on here.
04:24Even though Drake, man, he's making up for it, the other guys are stepping up,
04:27but we were counting so much on A.J. Brown and his production and what he can do to open
04:32up the offense,
04:33and quite frankly, it just hasn't been there.
04:38And is he healthy?
04:41I mean, is that the reason?
04:43I mean, he looks – I mean, looks a little – looks a little heavy.
04:46I mean, I don't know if he was always that big or never been around him, but he has –
04:50man, hey, bro.
04:52Hey, Wiggy, he look like damn like a tight ear.
04:55Yeah, he looks a little big.
04:57I don't – but like I said, I've never been around him.
04:59Greg called him fat.
05:00Yeah, I've never been around him.
05:01I just – the one thing that really, like, had me scratching my head with him is because they showed
05:07him running a curl route maybe, like, two weeks ago against Chicago.
05:11But I never really thought of him as being a speedster.
05:14I always thought of him more of like –
05:16But you thought – you said at the time he looked slow to you.
05:18Yeah, but I always thought of him as more of like a Larry Fitzgerald type of big receiver.
05:23Like, he's not blowing by guys.
05:25His advantage is height and going up and getting the ball.
05:28And just being big and physical.
05:28I mean, but he played with more, you know, explosion and speed than that.
05:33I mean, he didn't just do that.
05:35He's not, you know, got the hands of a Larry Fitzgerald.
05:38I mean, I would have put him more in the realm of a DK Metcalf when he was running fast.
05:44You know, those are big receivers.
05:45But if you're running and you're playing fast, okay, no harm, no foul.
05:49He's a big guy that can run.
05:51But when you're sitting there looking heavier than the pass and the production is less,
05:57you've got to be like, man, are you in the best shape?
05:59I don't know.
06:00But that's what it seems like to me.
06:02Maybe is it the color of the damn uniform?
06:04Is it the shoulder pads?
06:05I don't know what it is.
06:06But we need more production out of A.J. Brown because I think by making that move to get him,
06:13there was a high expectation that he was going to open it up for everyone else.
06:17It was going to make Drake May's job that much easier.
06:20It was going to open up for the running game and remind Drake Stephenson.
06:24And it's just not been there.
06:27So, hopefully, you know, late November, December, he comes around.
06:33But right now, we're not getting the production.
06:36And you've got to ask, how much the hell are they paying him?
06:39Like $27 million or $28 million.
06:41I think it's almost $30 million.
06:44Right.
06:45And you want to get your bang for your buck, too.
06:48I mean, hey, people can say that about anybody's deal.
06:51You're getting the bang for the buck, but we made this big splash, and you would hope to see more
06:57production.
06:57So, you know, you're getting paid a lot of money.
06:59If that's the case, you know, you kept digs.
07:02You know what I mean?
07:03Yeah.
07:04Speaking of wide receivers, as we were with A.J. Brown,
07:07would you be interested in a trade of a guy like Josh Downs with the Colts,
07:12a wide receiver that played with Drake May in college?
07:14The Colts, obviously, in the middle of a fire sale after trading their guard and defensive star there.
07:20Would you be interested in moving picks if you were the Patriots, considering where A.J. Brown is health-wise?
07:26Were you talking about trading A.J. Brown for Josh Downs?
07:29No, no, no.
07:29Trading draft picks to bring in a receiver at the trade deadlines next week.
07:34Right.
07:35That would be, you know, to assault with your quarterback,
07:39because he's the quarterback for the future in Drake May,
07:42and he might want to have his old college compadre there if they play together like that.
07:45I mean, why not?
07:47You know, if they're doing a fire sale, absolutely, if it's going to make the team better,
07:52and if Drake May feels like that's my guy.
07:54If Drake May feels that way and he's going to come, you know, on a discount,
07:58I mean, is his contract up?
07:59How long are they going to be able to keep him?
08:00You've got to take all those things into consideration.
08:03And, A, the familiarity that he would have with the quarterback, why not?
08:09But you've got to give Douglas and those other guys, they're doing well.
08:14I mean, considering that A.J. is supposed to be the guy, they're stepping up.
08:18So, I mean, we're doing okay.
08:20Do you need to add another receiver?
08:22Where else is it more important to benefit the team?
08:26What position would that be?
08:28I would say office and line.
08:29Go get you a damn office and lineman because you can't keep getting set.
08:33You know, you can't have Drake and getting set.
08:35I would say this, Ty, if you want to trade for an O-lineman, I'd be for that.
08:38But I would kick the tires, and you don't have to give up draft picks
08:42for a guy like Tyreek Hill.
08:43I mean, he's moving around.
08:45He's fast.
08:46He won't cost you anything.
08:47And he's a guy that if he still has that, you know, 4-4 speed,
08:52he's going to be a guy that can maybe be one of those guys that could be a
08:55home run hitter for you, and it doesn't cost you anything in a trade.
08:58You're clearly going to have wide receiver issues.
09:02People just don't want them on their football team.
09:05No, I know that.
09:05It's not about whether what people want.
09:07I'm just saying how to make your receiver run potentially better of the guys
09:12that could be available versus trading, right?
09:15Because you don't know what's going to happen with A.J. Brown.
09:17You don't know what Romeo Dobbs is going to be like.
09:19Ty, would you want a guy like that on your team?
09:22If he can keep his head down and play football, you're damn right.
09:27That's Tyreek Hill.
09:28I mean, now, all the stuff that comes with it, you know, the other distractions,
09:33you know, people tend to come to New England and you don't see as many distractions
09:38because of the culture that was already created, you know, years and years ago.
09:43Not saying that you don't have distractions, but if he can come in and just play football
09:48to give it a shot, Tyreek Hill, with that type of exposements, if he has three quarters
09:55of what he had before, you're damn right.
09:57Bring him in.
09:58Like I said, less of distractions, he's in Miami.
10:01He might need to get out of Miami.
10:02There's too many distractions down there for him, as we can see.
10:05Yeah.
10:05You know what I mean?
10:06The distraction for Tyreek Hill, Ty, has been the people he lives with and what he does to them.
10:11Well, he's not living with nobody.
10:13Steph Diggs worked for you, you know?
10:15Exactly.
10:16Steph Diggs worked for you.
10:19Exactly.
10:19But you're talking about someone that is supposed to, and if you can get him for the cheap,
10:22and now, with all the things that's been going on, you know, on the field, being injured
10:27in his personal life, and all this attention, a change of scenery up here, this is not Miami.
10:33This is a winning culture.
10:34So, to come here would probably be a benefit to him, and he could focus on just playing
10:39football.
10:39So, if I can get him for cheap, you're damn right I'm going to get Tyreek Hill.
10:43Did he ever settle that lawsuit with the big-boned woman, the rapper that he tackled?
10:50Yeah, all that stuff has been settled.
10:53Is she okay physically?
10:54Yeah, I think even that was all, like, everything was settled.
10:57Even his recent one, I think he broke her leg.
11:00I'm sorry, guys.
11:02I don't know what happened to the big-boned one.
11:04I don't know about that one.
11:05Well, they're playing football.
11:07Look it up.
11:07Yeah, she was over at his crib.
11:09Playing football at each other.
11:10Playing some football, and she was injured.
11:13Yeah.
11:13She was injured.
11:14Wow.
11:15And after the injury, she-
11:16She says she embarrassed him, and then he took it out on her.
11:18And then after the injury, they hooked up.
11:20And he broke his three-year-old son's arm.
11:22But other than that-
11:23Before you go, Ty, the most entertaining play of the game is brought to you by Apex Entertainment.
11:30Visit over 100,000 square feet of pure fun at Apex and Marlboro.
11:34What do you got as the most entertaining play of the game on Sunday?
11:38The most entertaining play for me was something short and short.
11:40It was sweet, and it was Drake May putting on his Magic Johnson impression to get that school.
11:47He gave him that little thing.
11:49He went to the basketball court on that one.
11:51That was a damn good move.
11:52So that was entertaining.
11:54That was entertaining to me.
11:55And shout-out to Drake May, Magic Johnson.
11:59Hey, that was incredible.
12:00And he got the spike afterwards.
12:01Yeah, that was small, that option.
12:03That was great.
12:03All right.
12:04Yeah, that was clear right there.
12:06Hey, I'm sitting there under the weather.
12:07I didn't want to get y'all sick because I can hear my voice.
12:09I didn't want to be coughing all over y'all in the studio because I wanted to be there for
12:13your birthday, Grace.
12:14Well, I apologize, but I said you can hear it.
12:17But, man, happy birthday, bro.
12:19Enjoy it.
12:20And what y'all doing afterwards?
12:21Y'all going to hang out and have drinks afterwards early?
12:23Well, I mean, I think Courtney's going to go have seven energy drinks.
12:28No.
12:28Greg needs a nap now that he's 60.
12:30Yeah, it's nap time.
12:31Yeah, I'm going to have to take a nap.
12:33We're really worried about Courtney and these energy drinks.
12:35I know.
12:36I've got to get some Metamucil.
12:38Start to get on the Metamucil.
12:40All right.
12:42Ty, thank you so much.
12:44All right.
12:44Thanks, guys.
