00:00Between 7 p.m. Sunday and 5.45 a.m. Monday, teams drawn from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service,
00:07Defence Force Specialist Units and the Prison Service executed a coordinated operation near the Oruka Maximum Security Prison.
00:15Led by Commissioner of Police Alisa Guevara and senior prison officials, the exercise targeted a drone drop of prohibited items.
00:22Officers intercepted three suspects about 50 meters from the prison wall and seized narcotics, cigarettes, drone equipment and communication devices.
00:33Simultaneous searches inside the prison uncovered additional contraband hidden in several cells.
00:38Officers also searched the known offenders' promises under the Emergency Powers Regulations
00:43and impounded a vehicle suspected to be linked to the smuggling attempt.
00:48Commissioner Guevara praised the operation's position, saying it disrupted a sophisticated plan
00:54and reinforced law enforcement's commitment to institutional integrity and public safety.
