00:00All right. So the only game of the weekend that really was a dud was last night. And so you could
00:06have skipped last night and watch the rest of the games because this was the only one without any
00:10intrigue. The Patriots defense just put the hammer down on the Los Angeles Chargers as Justin
00:18Herbert was running for his life in most of the game. So good job by them. Patriots easily cover
00:22the spread three and a half point favorites. They win 19 to three. To give you the numbers,
00:27they pressured Herbert 30 times and they sacked him six times. So you know what the Chargers are
00:33going to be working on in the offseason. As far as the Patriots are concerned, they did make some
00:38mistakes in the game. Probably if it was another scenario would have scored a lot more points and
00:43put up a lot more on offense, but they had their struggles too. Either way, they'll have a home
00:48game next week. Here's Mike Rabel on overcoming some of those mistakes to capture this 19 to three
00:54victory. You know, we turned the ball over far too many times, but what our defense was able to do
00:59early in that game, uh, in the red zone, inside the five yard line or inside the nine yard line
01:05was, I think really set the tone for them for the rest of the game. And, you know, it could have
01:11been better. You know, we had a lot of scrambles and we knew that. And again, trying to rush and
01:16trying to, you know, make sure that those scramble lanes aren't there. Um, secondary did a fantastic job
01:23with the play extensions and making sure that, you know, those plays didn't, um, get loose
01:29and that just really proud of everybody. Yeah, we, uh, we weren't good enough. We didn't get
01:34enough points. Um, that was, uh, uh, sustaining the drives, um, you know, left our defense out
01:44in the field too much in terms of time and possession. And, uh, yeah, it just wasn't, uh,
01:51wasn't our night. Meanwhile, there will not be a defending Superbowl champion that runs the table
01:59and goes all the way again. It's over the Philadelphia Eagles in a very entertaining
02:02game fall short against the San Francisco 49ers 23 to 19 upset. Yep. That's the story of the day in
02:09the NFL Eagles were five and a half point favorites. Brock Purdy did just enough to get
02:14it done, but arguably the play of the game was Juwan Jennings throwing a touchdown pass
02:21wide receiver to Christian McCaffrey. And that was the difference in this one. Also George
02:27Kittle left this game with an Achilles injury. It's going to cost him the rest of the playoffs,
02:31maybe even next year. Here's Kyle Shanahan on taking out the champs and moving on to the next
02:36round. Uh, to find a way to win that game. Um, we thought it would be a grimy game. That's how
02:41we say it. Um, it was our defense allowed it to be that way. And then, um, you know,
02:45that last drive, you know, some of the plays juice made on it. I thought we're so big. Um,
02:50Brock, um, had a couple of mistakes obviously with his two picks and stuff, but to come back
02:54on that last drive, get us in the end zone, lead us all the way down there, get to like
02:57a third guy in his progression on the touchdown. Uh, real proud of the guests on why the offense
03:04was really in such a good first half, but stalled there in the second half. Yeah. You know,
03:08felt like that was kind of our, uh, our, our story as the year, as the year progressed. And,
03:15um, you know, um, like you said, like you said, good first half, didn't do a good enough
03:21job coaching, didn't do a good enough job executing in the second half. Um, in that third quarter
03:27particularly, um, you know, some penalties got us behind the sticks. Uh, and, and we had a hard
03:33time overcoming them. Well, my Superbowl team had its run come to an end, unfortunately,
03:39as well as the bills, Pete, the Jaguars, 27 to 24, great game all the way down to the
03:44wire. Jaguars, uh, closed as favorites. They opened up as underdogs. It's the first road
03:50playoff win. Thanks to Josh Allen who had a hard time throwing, but did rush for two touchdowns.
03:57And the way that the bills are approaching this post season is as you would expect game by game.
04:03And so Josh Allen said, this was just one win. Feels good. Feels good. Um, same time again, that
04:09just means that we get another game and, and we got to go find a way to put our best foot forward
04:14this week in practice, put together a good game plan, go out there and execute again next Saturday
04:18or Sunday, whenever we play. Complimentary game. 100% no turnovers on offense. I know, uh,
04:22we had a rare one on special teams. Um, even the first drive though, getting the ball backed up,
04:27getting a few first downs, being able to flip the field. Um, our defense making a huge stop
04:31on fourth down near the goal line. Um, yeah. And then again, just finding opportunities and,
04:37and being able to punch the ball in the end zone. And then we did that today.
04:40Liam, obviously, you know, emotional way to end the season. How much time does it really take for
04:45you guys to kind of process this and say, okay, where do we have to go from here now?
04:49Um, yeah, it'll take a little bit of time. That wasn't really 100% sure what to say to those guys
04:54in there. Um, because you don't really plan for what you're going to say, um, after the season
04:59ends, um, be fortunate to be able to get together tomorrow, get the guys in there, um, communicate,
05:06be able to swallow this one and keep it moving.
05:10Come back kids. That's the Chicago bears this season down 21 to three. They came all the way back
05:16in case you missed it on Saturday night to win and take out the green Bay Packers who definitely
05:20scuffled down the stretch. The bears, the division winners are moving on to the next round. Thanks
05:26to Caleb Williams and company 31 to 27, the final that had bears fans elated, elated over the weekend,
05:35not to mention Chicago fans also got Alex Bregman to sign with the Cubs and baseball over the weekend
05:39in case you missed that as well. But we're talking football here. Ben Johnson, certainly a little
05:44icy with his handshake to Matt LaFleur at the end of the game, excited though, to pick up the win.
05:48Man, it goes without being said, that's just, uh, that's just an incredible job by,
05:52by all the, all the people in this building, you know, players, coaches, support staff, um,
05:58to do what they just did, uh, with the stakes as high as they were and knowing that, you know,
06:04it's win or go home at this point, um, down 21 to three at halftime and defense bone up like they
06:12did in the second half with a number of three and outs. Um, and then the offense coming,
06:16coming to life and, uh, and finding a way to get us enough points in the fourth quarter there.
06:21I think that's what, 25 points in the fourth quarter, um, was a huge deal.
06:26Well, obviously this one, um, is going to hurt for a really, really long time. Um, you know,
06:32when you are in complete control of a football game and the flip or the script gets flipped in
06:38the second half, um, and it was a lot of self-inflicted things and, um, you know, give credit
06:45to them. We knew they were a team that could come back and, and fight that. I mean, they proved it
06:51all season long and we had opportunities to kind of put them away and we didn't get it done.
06:57In case you missed the beginning of the playoffs, it was just, I mean, talk about an all-time
07:02classic. The Carolina Panthers almost nearly pulled off a 10 and a half point home upset against the
07:09Rams, but Matthew Stafford and company did just enough 34 to 31 to pick up this win. It was
07:17certainly an incredible comeback performance again by the Panthers who showed a lot of fight in this
07:21one. They definitely had good performances from their defense that came up big down the stretch.
07:27And by the way, Stafford had an MRI on his throwing thumb. Sean McVay said he should be
07:32okay. Be able to play this coming week and we'll see how far the Rams end up going with Stafford
07:38a little bit banged up. Now tonight on Monday night football, the final team will advance
07:43to the next round of the NFL playoffs. Wild card weekend continues with the Houston Texans
07:49minus three on the road tonight on the FanDuel Sportsbook at Pittsburgh, total 38 and a half.
07:57That is the line there. A couple of notes, by the way, from college football's transfer
08:02portal. Dylan Rayola, formerly of Nebraska, has committed to the University of Oregon and also
08:09Arizona State quarterback Sam Levitt looks like he'll be joining Lane Kiffin at LSU.
