00:25I asked this of someone else. Did you think the Canes were going to look as good as they've

00:29looked through three games before the season started? We knew that they were going to be good.

00:33Did you think they were going to look this good? No, not in my wildest imaginations. Let's think

00:39about it. Everything that they had to change in the offseason was based on what? The defensive side

00:44of the ball. New defensive coordinator in Corey Heatherman, who had only called plays for one

00:48year as a defensive coordinator. That was last year at Minnesota. You brought in like five new guys in

00:53the defensive backfield, a couple of new defensive tackles. I thought we'd be good, but this team

00:58looks national championship good. I know I said it a couple of weeks ago when they beat Notre Dame,

01:02but I truly believe when you have lines of scrimmage built this way that can kick your ass from the word

01:08go, and those dudes aren't backing down from anybody. I'll tell you right now, Reuben Bain's the best

01:12player in college football, hands down, period. Not quarterback, not wide receiver. He's the best

01:18player in college football. When you have that, you look this good.

01:22Yeah, John, I've been saying it, man. Reuben, they wouldn't even run to the left. They did not

01:28want to go anywhere around number four, which was very impressive. And then Beck, you know,

01:33I was questioning Beck. Beck's spinning that thing too right now. Is there any weakness on this team?

01:39Because I would honestly say DB. Because those young guys, I don't know them. They, you know,

01:42like the receivers are starting to step up. Those young guys at defensive back, if they do have a

01:46problem, is that where it's at?

01:47If there is one. Because they've given up now three games in a row, they've given up explosive

01:52plays. You had a couple of explosives to South Florida. One of them was a coverage bus. You had

01:56the big explosive play that you gave up, obviously, to Notre Dame. The tight end got broke loose on

02:02everything that was there. So I think the explosive plays still become a thing. But when you're getting

02:07pressure in like two seconds, and it's not just Bain, it's Mesidor, and it's Lightfoot, and it's Blunt,

02:14and it's Blay. And it's, you know, just go down the list of these different guys. It feels like

02:1880s Miami once again. And when you're getting that, it's going to mask some of the deficiencies.

02:23And I think the longer these guys play again with each other in the backfield, and I probably

02:27shouldn't say that either. Much like you can't say they're getting deed up. Can't have

02:30deed hard. You can get deed up. You can't get deed hard.

02:35Yeah, you can get deed hard. Very clear. If these guys play together longer, they're just going to get

02:40better. And truthfully, after Florida State, they don't play a good quarterback other than Kevin

02:46Jennings and maybe C.J. Bailey of NC State the rest of the year. The next good one they might play is

02:50Haynes King in about a month and a half, two months, when we play them in the ACC championship game.

02:55Hey, John, are you sick of the USF thing every year as I am? Because I'm watching this game. And look,

03:03I'm not trying to discredit what they did against UF and the Boise State win. Obviously,

03:07props to them for that. But every year, it's the same thing. Last year, the exact same thing

03:11where it's like, this is the game. This is the year. USF is going to take out Miami. Miami has

03:17to watch out. And then they come in. And last year, for the first quarter, they hung with Miami.

03:22And then Cam Ward just diced them up. And I mean, these two teams didn't belong on the same field

03:28together with USF. I told Hawk and Crowder, I never want to hear about USF ever again when it comes to

03:34the Miami Hurricanes, because it's just never going to happen. Yeah, the only way that that's

03:38going to stop is whenever Alex Golish gets a different job. Because I think people believe

03:42that with that offense, they're going to have a puncher's chance in every game. Because you got

03:46a dual threat quarterback in Byron Brown. They've got some explosive players. The problem is,

03:51I'll go back to lines of scrimmage. The lines of scrimmage, they have no chance. Like Todd Orlando,

03:56he's a good defensive coordinator, but I call him a gimmick defensive coordinator. He's a guy that,

04:00because they don't necessarily have four guys that can get pressure. They've got to send six,

04:05seven, eight guys. They're going to send exotics. They're going to twist. They're going to loop.

04:08Well, when you have five guys up front, like Miami has it, or a stone wall, you can't get through

04:13that. You just don't have a chance. I'm sick of it too, though, Solana. And it has more to do with

04:17the social media aspect. You start getting people that don't want to talk about the games or taking

04:22pictures of hard rock. It's not sold out. Duh. Nobody's coming to watch South Florida. We got a lot of

04:26people in there because Miami's really good. And you brought a couple of thousand fans from Tampa.

04:30What else do you do? I don't like playing games like that because truthfully, because it's all

04:35risk, no reward. Channing, you know this very well. Beating USF had Florida beaten them. It's just,

04:40you handed them $5,000 to win the game. You got nothing out of it. Losing the game. Now,

04:44all of a sudden your coach is on a hot seat and your quarterback, people want to run him out of town

04:48already. How about Saturday against Florida? What about the game scares you or does nothing scare you?

04:56I mean, if I want to be non-cocky, unbiased radio guy, they've only given up two defensive

05:03touchdowns. So they're pretty good on the defensive side of the ball. Now, I'll argue that Clemson is

05:09not very good offensively. I just saw them in person Saturday. Their lines stink. I think LSU's

05:15offensive coordinator, not really calling the greatest game. So if I want to be real, that defensive

05:19front, I know Caleb Banks, I think I just read something. He may not be playing. If he's out,

05:23I don't feel really nervous about anything, but defensively, they're pretty good. If we let DJ

05:29Lagway slice and dice us, we got huge problem. I don't see that happening.

05:33Let's stay unbiased, John, because I know you know ball. Are you, are you, I don't know. I hate this

05:40week. Are you high on DJ Lagway as you were? Because I'm not seeing, you know, not even, I'm not seeing

05:48what I thought I was going to see.

05:49Yeah. I, I thought at the beginning of the year, I didn't buy into the Heisman hype that was put

05:54around DJ Lagway, but Channing, I really bought into the fact that this could be the guy that saves

05:59Billy Napier's job and elevates Florida to seven, eight, nine wins, you know, just depending on how the

06:04schedule broke out this year, which obviously they have a tough schedule. What I see right now is a

06:09kid that looks like he didn't practice during the spring. He hasn't thrown the ball with his receivers

06:13during the summer. He looks like he's a little bit gun shy. And now the LSU game, he was seeing those.

06:19I mean, he was making throws that post route that he throws down the middle of the field when it's 20 to

06:2410 and you're in field goal range with about five minutes left. He threw it into triple coverage and

06:28never gave his receiver a chance. I'm afraid right now that this may be a lost season, not only for him,

06:34but for Florida. And if it is, does it start getting to get in between the ears with DJ Lagway

06:39physical talent? You can see there six threes, 240 pounds. He's got a rocket for an arm,

06:45but he's not seeing it right now. And if you don't see it, defensive coordinators know you're not

06:49seeing it and they're just going to get after you. Hey, real quick, John, because we're going to run

06:54out of time. You think Mike McDaniel has run out of time? Mike McDaniel should have ran out of time last

06:59year. And the end of this game was so Mike McDaniel, you give up a kick return. That's not his fault.

07:03You go down and you have a chance to take the lead. Chua throws an interception.

07:08Then Devon H.M. steps out of bounds. Have some situational awareness, bro. You only wear like

07:13a size 10. Keep that foot inside the left sideline and you score. And then what happens the last two

07:17plays? You get sacked two times. Chris Greer should be fired and Mike McDaniel needs to go. He's a great

07:23offensive coordinator. I think he's a genius offensive play caller, but I don't think, and you guys could

07:28tell me better than I know, I don't think he has a respect inside that locker room where those guys play

07:32their butts off. I got to ask you guys before I go. I've been down there about five times. I

07:37haven't seen you guys in two years. Are the three of you going to make it to this damn game on

07:41Saturday? Because I'm flying in Friday afternoon like I always do. First stop, Caneswear. Second

07:46stop, Twin Peaks and Davey. Who knows where the night's going to go? My buddy, my homeboy,

07:50Cardinal's coming down. He's like, we got a party at the Hard Rock. I saw you with a Bella Danger last

07:58She doesn't hear too well right now, but I want to know, are the three of you actually going to

08:03make a Miami game so we can party beforehand? Crowder, you going? I got to ask my wife.

08:15If they move the game to my couch, I will be there, John. I'm trying to go, John. I really am. I'm

08:22trying to go. Solana has no chance. The fact that you said try to go, there's zero chance you go. Solana at

08:27least kept it real. He said he's got to rest up for each season. He's trying to get some rest right

08:33now. I've also, I got a big FIU Delaware game this Saturday, John, at Pitbull Stadium. Solana is such a

08:38fraud because they had the FIU-FAU game this past weekend, the Shula Bowl, they call it. And Solana

08:44portrays being this big FIU supporter. And he texts, I forget what thread I was on, that he went there,

08:53but he was in the parking lot. It was too rainy. So he left. And then I see him Instagramming from

08:59a restaurant with his fiance while the game is going on. And it's not a picture of the game.

09:05It's like a picture of a Monte Cristo sandwich. And then I see him respond to someone on Twitter,

09:12best game I've ever seen as an FIU fan. And he used the I've ever seen instead of I was ever at,

09:18even saying all week long that he was gonna be there. That guy's a fraud. Oh my goodness. Well,

09:23I will text the three of you. I don't expect much of a response. I don't even know if I have

09:27Channing's real number anymore. I will text you guys. I hope to see you. If not, I'll see Brett

09:35and Jeff over at Canesware. And I'll see all the other Canes fans. They'd always love to walk up to

09:39me and they go, dude, I love you on Hawk and Crowder. Well, I appreciate this support. So hopefully I get to
