00:00Let's get to the game tonight, though, in Philadelphia.
00:01The New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies.
00:03Last time these two teams tangled, it was a straight-up sweep by the New York Mets.
00:06The Phillies probably just need to win one of these games,
00:09and it will be a wrap on the National League East division.
00:12McLean's going to be on the mound versus Nola, which you might just say,
00:14hey, Nola's on the mound.
00:15We should be good here.
00:17Actually, a favorite here of minus 125 price point to the New York Mets.
00:20Why?
00:21Nola McLean, last 45 days in Major League Baseball,
00:23not a ton of starts under his belt, but efficient starts show.
00:26A 137 ERA, an XFIP of 2.74.
00:30That's here of 2.81.
00:31He's in much better form than Aaron Nola right now,
00:34and a total that lists that eight and a half.
00:36That Mets lineup crushes right-handed pitching.
00:39Nola can't afford to start slow again,
00:40otherwise the Phillies are going to get beat in this game.
00:43Yeah, not good.
00:44Not good.
00:45I mean, the Mets, though, congratulations.
00:47You swept the Phillies there late in August, right?
00:51But then you went on to lose six of your next ten games
00:54while the Phillies went on to win seven of their next ten.
00:57So, you know, the race is over for the most part as far as this goes.
01:02But you've got to love what you've seen from this kid, McLean.
01:05You've got to be concerned if you're the Phillies
01:08in what you've gotten from Aaron Nola here.
01:11Both these teams can certainly hit right-handed pitching here,
01:15but my goodness, this feels like if Nola's on,
01:19it's a pretty good pitching battle.
01:20If he's not, it's the Mets in the first five as far as I'm concerned.
01:24And again, Trey Turner, one of the leaders in Major League Baseball
01:28and base hits here, is not going to obviously be in that lineup.
01:30That hurts the Philadelphia Phillies.
01:31I do think the New York Mets right now should be a slight favorite
01:33over the Phillies, and they are.
01:35We'll see how that game plays out the rest of the day.
01:37And also, that estimated starting lineup, particularly on the Phillies side,
01:40without Trey Turner to see how they shake up that lineup just a little bit.
01:43Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves.
01:44The Braves got crushed yesterday.
01:46The Cubs looking to try to track down the Brewers.
01:48Probably not going to happen, but more focused primarily on just winning a wild card
01:51and getting to the playoffs here.
01:53Imanaga, the lefty, is going to be on the mound going up against Bryce Elder.
01:56Elder is a terrible analytical pitcher, but it seems like sometimes when I bet
01:59against him, he throws gems like he's Cy Young out there, Joe.
02:03You look at the price point in this game, anywhere between minus 125s to minus 130s
02:07for the Chicago Cubs, and a total between eight and a half to nine.
02:11Just one of those guys I just can't figure out over the past couple weeks,
02:14Bryce Elder.
02:16Well, listen, he cost me money here.
02:19It's not just the – he has had three consecutive starts where he is pitching
02:25to a 1.35 ERA, 15 strikeouts in his last 20 innings.
02:31And, oh, yeah, he's only allowed four walks and one home run over his last three starts.
02:39Yeah, no.
02:40I am absolutely – I'm going back to the well.
02:42I think this is a mirage.
02:44I'll be backing Atlanta early – the Cubs, rather, early in this one.
02:49I'll back Imanaga, and I'll fade Elder here.
02:53Eight and a half total.
02:54Let me just get a quick weather update.
02:5670 degrees – 75 degrees the first pitch, light wind blowing in from left field.
02:59We'll see how it plays out.
03:00But Elder, guys hurt me to pass a couple starts here.
03:03I don't know if I can make that decision again.
03:04Even if the numbers are telling me right now, I'm like, man, watch this guy pitch a gem tonight.
03:08Or he gives up four runs in the top of the first inning.
03:10Like, yeah, exactly.
03:11That's what he's supposed to do.
03:13Milwaukee and Texas.
03:14Texas on life alert right now, trying to make it into the playoffs.
03:17Probably won't do that.
03:18Milwaukee, they will make it into the playoffs.
03:20Only question is, are they going to be the number one overall seed?
03:23Two left-handed pitchers on the mound today.
03:25Quintana for Milwaukee and Lats for Texas, I should say.
03:30Rub price points here.
03:31Bouncing back and forth.
03:32You see the graphic, minus 120.
03:34Some outlets, minus 115.
03:35Roughly a pick'em and a total at most outlets sitting at eight and a half.
03:39Quintana, who, again, frustrates me to all ends, going up against Lats.
03:43Two lefties in this game, Joe.
03:45Milwaukee getting the dub here?
03:46What do we anticipate here?
03:48Well, unfortunately for Milwaukee, they had to leave PNC Park because they never lose a game there.
03:55And they out-hit and out-scored again the Pittsburgh Pirates 19-5 over the weekend.
04:01But my goodness here.
04:03It's going to get a little tougher here, I think, in Arlington.
04:06The Rangers, what?
04:08They've climbed within, what, a game and a half of the Mariners for the last American League wildcard slot here.
04:14So they are 11-4 across their last 15.
04:17And by the way, ever since coming out of the bullpen, Bruce Pochy has taken Jacob Latsch and actually moved him from being the long relief guy into a starter here.
04:28And the results have been pretty good.
04:29But I'm with you.
04:31Quintana, to me, has got regression coming.
04:34He's a contact pitcher.
04:36I don't know that that's going to play well here in this one.
04:39I like the home dog in this one.
04:41Those sloppy curveballs there.
04:43Sometimes they work.
04:44We'll see if it does here tonight when they take on the Texas Rangers.
04:47That game's going to start up at 8.05 Eastern.
04:49Next game up here, Cincinnati, who is fighting for a playoff spot.
04:52They are cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies against the New York Mets so they can try to chase down the Mets here.
04:57They'll take on you, Darvish.
04:58Darvish opened up overnight, Joe.
05:00Ran a minus-150 favorite.
05:01Still in that range.
05:02Minus-145s, minus-140s in the landscape out here, depending on which sports book that you are betting with.
05:087.5 as a total, so the expectations, I should say, aren't that high for runs being scored.
05:13The Padres, back home, taking on the Reds.
05:17Yeah, the Reds are just there.
05:18It's unfortunate there.
05:20Lodolo going there against Darvish.
05:22It feels like a good opportunity, maybe, to look at an under in this game here.
05:28So, it's a good pitcher's ballpark.
05:30I do not trust the Cincinnati offense against quality pitching.
05:35I think maybe an under in this one is not a bad look, even at 7.5.
05:41St. Louis and Seattle.
05:43Myles Michaelis on the mound had a good pitching performance his last effort here.
05:46I don't know if he's going to get the same thing, but we do have a low total in this game.
05:49Take it on the Mariners at 7.5, but a monster favorite for Mr. Wu and the Mariners at close
05:54to minus-230, depending on where you're shopping at.
05:57Heavy, heavy favorite.
05:58Now, understand this, too, Joe.
06:00Somebody was in Atlanta yesterday.
06:01Somebody's playing in Seattle tonight.
06:03That's a long trip across the coast.
06:04Like, oh, look at that, 18 runs.
06:06They should easily be able to get five off Michaelis.
06:08I think I might be betting that they will do that, but we know how this works out.
06:1218 runs to one run, and congratulations, Michaelis.
06:16Yeah.
06:17I mean, well, I mean, 28 runs and 31 hits over the weekend in just clubbing Atlanta to that.
06:23Yeah, that was good.
06:25But you're right.
06:26Prior to that, Donnie, it had been awful.
06:28They lost, what, seven of the six of the first seven games on this nine-game road trip.
06:33So they ended it well.
06:36You know, Wu is good here, but that's it.
06:38You're asking us a tough situation here for the Mariners, travel-wise.
06:42But Michaelis, strangely enough, like Elder, he's burned me over the last couple of starts
06:47because he's not getting lit up like you would expect him to do it.
06:52I think the hot hitting of the Mariners continues, though.
06:54I can only look towards them here.
06:57Hammer that bum out here.
06:59By the way, Dallander's on the mound for the Colorado Rockies playing out the string against the Dodgers.
07:02How about Emmett Sheehan, a minus 300 favorite?
07:05Who is this?
07:05Cy Young out there, Emmett Sheehan?
07:07Three.
07:08Minus 319.
07:10Hey.
07:11Have we not learned that the Dodgers at this point cannot be trusted as a $3 favorite?
07:19No.
07:19The only way I could look is the Rockies here.
07:22Dogger pass for me.
07:23They just did it in Colorado, remember?
07:26As a $3 favorite, they ended up Colorado beat them.
07:30I'm going there.
07:30The Dodgers are playing great baseball.
07:32They're like, hey, the Dodgers are closing in on a record 120th win of the season.
07:35They're not even playing great baseball.
07:36Anything can happen in that type of environment where, do I think the Dodgers win?
07:39Yeah, of course I do.
07:41The Rockies are terrible, but at the same time, he ain't laying a minus 300 price point.
07:45I'm going to go over to Major League Baseball tonight, Joe, and I'm going to go out to Anaheim.
07:49That's the Minnesota Twins taking on the Angels.
07:51Woods Richardson going up against Dana on the mound.
07:53The total is listed at nine.
07:54I think we go over this total.
07:56Simi Woods Richardson did have a good start to the season.
07:58Got that mysterious illness where he got a parasite taken out of his intestine, hasn't
08:02been the same pitcher, and you take a look at Dana, not a great pitcher either.
08:05Both of these two teams should at least get three runs apiece, Joe, which is going to put
08:09you in the ballpark for extra innings and certainly more runs late in this game.
08:13Give me the over nine between the Twins and the Angels tonight.
08:16So we got football.
08:17We got baseball.
08:19Doubleheader going on.
08:20That's what I like to see.
08:22Yep.
08:22Got to love that.
08:23Actually, like that a lot.
08:25Don't like, guess what, Richardson at all.
08:28I do think some runs are certainly coming in that game, and I'm going to be very interesting
08:34to see what do we get from Crochet tonight.
08:36I'm shocked.
08:38Boston isn't a bigger favorite than what they are in Sacramento against the Athletics, but
08:44he gave up a few more runs than I thought he would in that last start as well.
08:47Maybe slowing down a little bit, Donny?
