“Therefore wait for Me,” says the Lord,
“Until the day I rise up for plunder;
My determination is to gather the nations
To My assembly of kingdoms,
To pour on them My indignation,
All My fierce anger;
All the earth shall be devoured
With the fire of My jealousy.
Zephaniah 3:8

00:00And in the midst of this gloomy scenario, the prophet also calls for the righteous to wait for the Lord.
00:07He says that he's going to gather the nations and pour out on them his indignation.
00:12Or says he's going to restore a pure speech to the peoples in chapter 3, famous passage where he says in verse 9,
00:21I will restore to the people a pure language that they may call on the name of the Lord to serve him with one accord.
00:26Some have actually referred that to the fact that in modern Israel they've restored the ancient language of Israel.
00:34You could see that as a partial fulfilment of this prophecy, but I think it's more than that.
00:39It's speaking about restoring your language to praise the Lord.
00:42People will call upon the name of the Lord, even restoring some kind of a heavenly language.
00:47Not speaking here about gifts of the Holy Spirit, but maybe that's part of it,
00:51that God is going to restore a living language in which we can communicate with the Lord by the Holy Spirit
00:57and bring all people together in one so that we are no longer divided as we were at the time of the Tower of Babel,
01:04as people were divided by different tongues, so they were divided by cultures, by religion, by race.
01:10God wants to bring us together into one in the Lord to worship him in spirit and in truth.
01:15And calling on the name of the Lord is a passage used in the Old Testament for true worship,
01:20true worship of the Lord, the true God, as opposed to worshipping the false gods which are around them.
01:26And he goes on to say that he will leave behind a meek and a humble people
01:31who will trust in the name of the Lord,
01:34and the meek shall inherit the earth is one of the things that Jesus says.
01:37And a lot of the end-time passage here, I believe, does speak about the coming time when Jesus is going to return
01:42in person, in power and in glory, and reign on the earth.
01:47Many Christians don't actually believe in a literal millennial kingdom, but it's there in the Bible.
01:53And the Bible says that the same Jesus who died the first time and was sacrificed for our sins,
01:58went up to heaven after his resurrection, is going to come again.
02:02But this time in a different form, this time as king of kings and lord of lords,
02:06and dwell amongst us and restore the earth to the way it was before Adam and Eve fell.
02:13Going to bring an end to war, bring an end to violence,
02:17bring an end to all of the things which are defining the world today.
02:21And in the passage here it says,
02:23the king, he has cast out, the Lord has taken away your judgments, verse 15,
02:28he has cast out your enemy, the king of Israel, the Lord is in your midst,
02:31you shall see disaster no more.
02:35And it goes on to say,
02:36the Lord your God in your midst, the mighty one will save,
02:40he will rejoice over you with gladness,
02:42he will quiet you with his love,
02:44he will rejoice over you with singing.
02:48I believe that by the Spirit, the Lord is with us today,
02:51because Jesus said,
02:51we're two or three gathered together in my name,
02:54I'm there in the midst.
02:55But this is talking about some kind of more visible presence of the Lord
02:59Lord, on the earth, at the time of the second coming of Yeshua,
03:04Jesus the Messiah.
03:06It says the king of Israel is going to be in your midst,
03:08and when he's in your midst, you're going to see disaster no more.
03:12The time of the second coming of Jesus is going to bring an end
03:14to all the disasters, all the troubles,
03:16all the negativity which we see taking place in the world today,
03:20and bring an end to sin and rebellion,
03:22and above all, bring an end to the role of Satan,
03:26the enemy, in ruling over the nations.
03:29He'll be cast out and placed into the abyss,
03:31from which he can no longer deceive the nations.
03:34So at that time, the king is going to be in your midst.
03:37And if we are believers in Yeshua,
03:39I believe we're going to be coming back with him,
03:41and reigning with him during that time,
03:42when Jesus is reigning on the earth,
03:44and bringing peace and justice to the world.
03:47I would very much like to see that happen, wouldn't you?
03:50And be there when it happens,
03:52because it's going to be a glorious time.
03:54Today we live in such a distressing world,
03:56when turning on the news is almost a torment,
03:59and just hear one disaster after another.
04:03Imagine hearing about one glorious event after another,
04:06about one restoration after another,
04:08about one peace between peoples,
04:11about all the things which we would long to see taking place.
04:14It's going to happen when Jesus returns.
04:16And the wicked will be cast off,
04:18but those who are saved will be with the Lord.
04:20In that glorious time.
04:22And Zechariah is promising over this.
04:23He says, even the Lord is going to rejoice over you.
04:26He's going to rejoice over you with singing.
04:28The Lord likes to hear us singing to him,
04:31but the Lord is actually going to sing to us,
04:32so that'll be good, won't it?
04:34I guess he'll be more tuneful than we are.
04:36But you can imagine that he's so rejoicing over his people,
04:40and over the restoration,
04:41that he's singing for joy
04:43at what he's seeing taking place on the earth.
04:45It's going to be a glorious time
04:47and a glorious deliverance from the evil which is taking place.
04:53It goes up, Phenesis was saying,
04:55he's going to deal with the afflicted,
04:56he's going to save the lame and those driven out.
05:01Those who are excluded from the assembly of the nations
05:04in this present evil age,
05:06those who find themselves outsiders
05:08because of either their faith in Yeshua,
05:10or because of their race,
05:13particularly if they're Jewish,
05:15and they're going to be brought in
05:16into the kingdom of God.
05:18And God is saying those who have been excluded
05:20will now be included.
05:22And those who have been included
05:24in this present evil age
05:25will be excluded if they're not right with God.
05:29So there'll be a reversal of the present state.
05:33And he'll give you fame and praise
05:34among all the nations
05:35and all the peoples of the earth.
05:38Finally, he says,
05:38they're going to regather the peoples.
05:41So bring all the,
05:43return your captives before your eyes.
05:46So there'll be the final complete restoration of Israel
05:49at the time of the second coming of Yeshua,
05:52Jesus the Messiah,
05:54which is something to look forward to.
