Leeds road users are being urged to plan ahead as further closures will be implemented amid the £44.179m Dawsons Corner and Stanningley Bypass roadworks.
00:00Do you use the B6157? If you regularly drive or cycle in this area, you won't have missed the Dawson's Corner and Stanningley Bypass Improvement Scheme works, which are well underway.
00:13Leeds and Bradford Road users are now being urged to plan ahead for six weeks of works between Monday 8th September to Friday 17th October, which will involve a 24-7 lane closure on Bradford Road towards Stanningley, which is the eastbound lane of the Dawson's Corner roundabout, where vehicles will be diverted along the Ring Road.
00:35Some footways and cycleways will also be closed, but alternative routes will be provided.
00:40The works are part of the £44.1m Dawson's Corner and Stanningley Bypass Improvement Scheme, with this particular part of the work aiming to facilitate the realignment of the junction as part of the final layout, which would include a new footway and cycleway, making it easier for people to travel in more sustainable ways.
01:00The changes to the junction are aiming to reduce congestion, improve bus journey times, provide safer crossing facilities for cyclists and pedestrians, and help to support the economic growth across Leeds and Bradford.
01:13Some bus stops will be affected by the works, with full details of the affected services now online.
01:18Another improvement expected to be seen following this scheme is better overall traffic flow.
01:23Leeds City Council's Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Economy, Transport and Sustainable Development, Councillor Jonathan Pryor, has thanked everyone for their ongoing patience while they continue to work hard at Dawson's Corner.
01:36He said that teams have completed lots of work to try and minimise the disruption, but whatever the amount of planning, there may be some delays.
01:43The scooters will be affected by the fact that teams serve these abilities.
01:45Everyone wants to do the best in the flock.
01:46Are they worth registering a choice?
01:49Our Cuase to the ger irregularity because that's a particular penalty.
