New images show how a major Leeds junction will look after upgrades. Drivers are being warned about significant closures during the next phase of works.

00:02Leeds City Council has released new visuals showing how Dawson's Corner will look once major upgrade works to the busy
00:08junction are complete.
00:09The improvements are aiming to reduce congestion, improve safety and create better routes for all road users.
00:17Construction began in May 2025 to upgrade the junction at Dawson's Corner at the A647 and A6120.
00:25The scheme forms part of the Connecting Leeds transport strategy to maintain and improve the city's inner and outer ring
00:32roads, supporting future growth and offering smoother, more reliable journeys.
00:37Dawson's Corner connects Stanningley Road and the Ring Road, which are two of Leeds' most important transport routes.
00:44Every day, around 57,000 vehicles and 1,200 pedestrians and cyclists travel through the junction.
00:52Road users are now being advised to plan ahead for Friday the 24th to Monday the 27th of April, when
00:59a major phase of works will require significant traffic management changes and road closures.
01:04There's set to be an eastbound lane closure on Bradford Road between the 20th and 24th of April, in the
01:10run-up to the weekend of works.
01:12There'll also be a full weekend road closure of the Ring Road and the Farsley and Bradford Road.
01:18Access will be maintained for New Pudsey train station and Owlcotts shopping centre, and there will be fully signed vehicle
01:25and pedestrian diversions throughout the weekend.
