01:01Patients with certain medical conditions, such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease
01:06or certain gastrointestinal issues that may reduce magnesium absorption.

01:16For example, diets that are low in green leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds and whole grains.
01:24Lastly, individuals taking certain medications, such as proton pump inhibitors for reflux
01:31or a diuretic for high blood pressure.
01:34Three of the most common magnesium supplements include
01:37Magnesium citrate, easily absorbed by the gut and used for constipation.
01:43Magnesium glycinate, also easily absorbed and used for muscle relaxation and sleep.
01:50Magnesium oxide is the third one, less absorbed and used for constipation sometimes.

01:59Always follow the daily recommended dose.
02:02Too much magnesium can result in GI symptoms such as nausea and diarrhea.
