Well Services says it has been "diligently and carefully" working to complete the salvage and recovery of Rig 110.

The company's assurance comes in response to a statement of concern issued by the Energy Ministry on Monday.

00:00Two days after, Minister and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, Ernesto Kisar,
00:05appealed to all parties involved to move with a level of urgency, safety and compassion
00:11in an effort to bring closure to the family and loved ones of the victim of the rig 110 incident, Pete Phillips.
00:18Wealth Services Petroleum Company Limited has issued a response.
00:22Wealth Services acknowledged that on May 14th of this year, its CEO met with the minister
00:27and a team of technical officers from the Energy Ministry and that during that meeting,
00:32Wealth Services indicated that the commencement of the salvage and recovery operations was projected
00:37for June 2025 contingent upon the fulfillment of all necessary regulatory requirements.
00:44In a statement on Monday, the Energy Ministry said that at the beginning of August 2025,
00:49it also received an update from Heritage Petroleum Company Limited regarding the salvage of Rig 110,
00:55which highlighted that assets belonging to Heritage continue to be at risk near the collapsed Rig 110.
01:04The Energy Ministry further said that Wealth Services had not met their projected June 2025 commencement date
01:10for salvage operations and the reason for such had not been officially communicated to the Ministry
01:16by the company as of Monday.
01:19On Wednesday, Wealth Services said that on August 6th, the Environmental Management Authority, the EMA,
01:24informed the company that following their preliminary review, an Environmental Impact Assessment or EIA
01:31would not be required for the proposed project.
01:34Wealth Services then said that pursuant to Rule 6-1-A of the Certificate of Environmental Clearance or CEC rules,
01:42the application is being processed and the determination as to whether the CEC will be granted
01:46will be made by September 18th of this year, 30 working days from August 6th.
01:53Wealth Services said that upon the approval of the CEC, the U.S.-based salvage company will begin mobilization activities
02:00which include deploying the crane barge and other necessary specialized equipment to Trinidad and Tobago.
02:07Wealth Services also said that additionally, it has secured a specialized barge equipped to support
02:14the planned salvage and recovery operations.
