The compensation package of the incoming Chief Executive Officer of the Water and Sewerage Authority was revealed in Parliament on Friday.

In revealing the details, the Public Utilities Minister also clarified what currency that compensation package will be paid in.

00:13Authority who is a national of St. Kitts and Nevis.
00:16Honourable Speaker, the CEO designate of the authority will be compensated in TT currency.
00:24Honourable Speaker, the Minister confirmed that that payment in TT dollars is as a result of
00:36government's poor management of the forex situation in Trinidad and Tobago.

00:41Minister Gonzalez had earlier provided details of the compensation package of the incoming WASA CEO
00:48in response to MP Paderath's original question in the House of Representatives on Friday.
00:54Madam Speaker, the Chief Executive Officer designate of the Water and Sewerage Authority,
01:00Mr. Keith Roy Halliday, would be required inter alia to lead the transformation of the
01:06authority which is a significant undertaking. The remuneration package reflects market
01:11competitiveness and includes performance-based incentives as follows. Salary at a rate of
01:19$100,000 per month. Housing allowance of $8,000 per month. Minister Gonzalez provided further
01:26details. Transport facility. Maintain company motor vehicle not exceeding $400,000 exclusive
01:35of that for business and personal use for the duration of the contract. A reimbursement of
01:41reasonable entertainment expenses incurred in the conduct of business related activities
01:47on behalf of the authority to a maximum of $2,300 per month. The Public Utilities Minister
01:53mentioned other incentives as well as the performance targets for the new WASA CEO
01:59for the supply of water in Trinidad and Tobago. An annual bonus payable on the attainment of 100%
02:06of the performance targets. The bonus to be paid should be limited to six months salary for the
02:11first year of the contract period. The bonus to be paid should be limited to four months salary
02:16for the second and third years of the contract period. The performance incentive targets
02:22Manuspeak as follows. Water coverage across all districts. Improvement in water coverage to
02:29unserved and underserved communities. Some of the new WASA CEO's targets also include the structure
02:36of WASA itself. Operational cost coverage. Compliance with cabinet directive for the
02:41management restructuring. Organizational process re-engineering. Implementation of
02:47new performance management system. Reduction in unsafe conditions. Increase in customer
02:53satisfaction rating and reduction in non-revenue water. The new WASA CEO is set to begin the job
